  1. Doesn't sound like a PS4 version will be coming. Someone on Gaf has gone through the article.

A lot of the article has to do with Respawn's origins, actually.

So here's the exclusivity mention: They thought working on PS4, Xbox One and PC would prove too difficult for a small team, so they decided to focus on one console instead of two. (er...). "Not to say we won't [go multiplatform] in the future, but for our first game we wanted to focus on making the best game we could."

GI points how that the Xbox One has 5GB of GDDR3 ram available to devs, whereas PS4 has 8GB DDR5 ram, and asks if that's a problem for Respawn. He says they're having trouble even using the 5GB efficiently with all the new architecture tricks. (that is to say, even if they had 8GB they wouldn't know how to use it properly at this stage of development)

GI: "What XBox One lacks in RAM, it potentially makes up for in cloud computing." Talks about how the game will have unlimited dedicated servers for the game, offloading "a few dozen AI" and physics, says the game would be impossible without the cloud and wouldn't have attempted it. Still dealing with unfinished hardware and software, so it's "still a little rough going at times."

Sounds like MS has this locked down as a console exclusive.

  2. This sucked me right in last night and made a 20 min go into a two hour sitdown messing around with it.

Janky as fuck but so damm tense, especially when sneaking around the town at night avoiding hordes of zombies.

  3. Been waiting for this game for ages.

Got the start screen playing in the background while I eat my lunch.

Jesper Kyd worked on the music, very atmospheric so far.

  4. So over on Gaf they're doing an interesting rumour tracking thread.

All of the following rumours I've been able to source to a credible neoGAF post or two, a wink and a nudge here, so here's the rub. The list is HIGHLY incomplete, so I need you guys to help fill it out. Will update post with any credible rumours.

    Xbox One

    ● Hawken console exclusive
    ● League of Legends console exclusive
    ● Mirror's Edge 2 (various retailer leaks now seem to back this up) console exclusive (said to be coming to PC too)
    ● Halo 4: II with cross platform play with 360 version
    ● Respawn Studio's game, "Titan", exclusive
    ● Insomniac new IP exclusive
    ● Dead Rising III exclusive
    ● Killer Instinct

    ● Final Fantasy Versus XIII changes into Final Fantasy XV, exclusive
    ● Planetside II console exclusive
    ● PS+ = Early access to Sony Pictures films, free PS1/PS2 games over Gakai
    ● Kingdom Hearts 2.5 for PS4? Due in 2014
    ● Demon Soul's 2 in development (not sure if this or KH will be at E3, but just in case)
    ● Last Guardian moved to PS4

Now this is a very interesting tidbit if true and seeing how much goodies EA were blessing MS with at their reveal show. Would not surprise me.

From what i understand there will be zero EA games shown on stage with sony. The games, of course, will be on both consoles (except mirrors edge and titan)

  5. I tried to play San Andreas recently. It was all going so well until I had to try shooting a gun. Jesus Christ it's bad.

And that's why I deign to go back and play that game.

Everything will just be so off putting. The shooting, driving etc is so splendid in R* modern titles that to go back to the way things used to be i.e appalling would be too much.

  6. I think the whole "this is just internet outrage, it won't have any effect for Joe on the street" was proven wrong when the PS3 didn't go on to sell more than the PS2 like the people who said that claimed, and in fact got a bit of a cold shoulder from the general public.

    Narratives are powerful.

imo that was more to do with the PS3 price and it's launch games not looking any better than the alleged 'Xbox 1.5.'

  7. Sounds good to me and best of all optional.

I take it this thing will also be standalone as a way to simply plug and play arcade and Games on demand and TV and film content.

MS's recent sales fever makes sense now.

  8. The Wreck-It Ralph release schedule shows exactly why licencing and distribution needs a serious look at.

Being able to get it on BluRay in one country whilst it is only just at theaters in another is just stupid.

Even 'better' you could have also grabbed a Blu Ray rip of the movie since last week. A few days after it's cinema release over here.

Does anyone know what the reason for the long delay on this coming out over here was?

  9. Caught up with this earlier.

It's two for two with fascinating episodes now.

I'll agree her screaming was grating but that made the end reveal even more starkly grim.

I think next week sounds like the 'light relief' episode.

Hope we get more of these would love to see a slightly longer season maybe 6-7 episodes. Our modern world is the 'gift' that keeps on giving.

CH4 seems to be hitting it out the park recently with modern interesting dramas this, Utopia and Complicit are all great productions.

  10. Spoilers for the finale are 'out there' and this season other than a few flecks of light, has been incredibly disappointing. This finale if true, shows how far the show has gone downhill.

There are way too many shows to watch and catch up with to bother with a third season of this.

    I'm out.

  11. Has anyone done the flashblack scenes yet at the club? I found that section and the conversation afterwards bit more illuminating.

I especially liked the conversation you can start with Daisy in the cave about her swimming and what winning feels like and Jason scared that each time he killed someone he got that 'winning' feeling over and over again and was beginning to enjoy it.

It certainly feels like that when you clear an outpost or execute a takedown+Knife takedown.

  12. Anyone played around with the map editor yet? I loved the one in FC2. So I was pleased to see it make it's return. I dumped a load of the crazier enemies, some explosive barrels and a few tigers. Then sat back and watched the carnage.

  13. Just switched this off. The time absolutely flew by. I finally have my four weapon setup unlocked.

The silencer on my pistol is a godsend. Nice clean headshots. And great for when you want to kill an animal and not draw attention.

I killed two turtles earlier despite them trying to hide in their shells a well aimed shot while crouching was enough to dispatch them.

    Nope :P

    • Empty world
    • Enemies that have X ray vison and can see where you go no matter what tactics you try. Preparation and flanking in any sense of the word is useless.
    • Malaria outbreaks
    • Sped up NPC dialogue (Ubisoft have never explained the reason for that one)
    • Shit wildlife
    • Weapons sticking during firefights (a bit fun)
    • Hilariously bad checkpoint enemies who once you've grown bored of having to get out and fight at every one have a technical truck on you within seconds of you driving through one that seemingly is able to catch up to you no matter how fast you're driving.

7 hours into Far Cry 3 and it's already shit all over Far Cry 2 imo. The way I can approach encounters, actual civilians who live in the villages and are driving around the island. Instead of a country that has seen every single person whose not either one of the factions or the bus drivers disappear completely.

  15. Far Cry 2 was an awful ,awful game full of so much promise but failed on so many levels. This is much better.

Currently hunting goats. But they have an annoying tendency to led you right into enemy camps. The satanic little shits.

  16. I got it for 360 this morning. Actually I have it on at this very moment and it looks great. Obviously not top of the range PC great but for an open world game I like it.

  17. Evil Dead 1 never had any humour really, it was a straight up horror and this is also a remake of that not number 2. Also I dont think an ED2 remake would work so well with todays audiences, its very much a cult film in its style and humour.

Pretty much. ED1 was a real nasty, bleak piece of work which was actually pretty scary. It was from ED2 that all the wacky stuff started off.

I like the look of this remake.
