It works perfectly in VR - I actually played it with quick turn switched off on the Quest. I'm betting, given they've just said they've started development on this and are using the term 'VR Mode' instead of content, it's the full game coming later in the year. I'm not playing it on release as I think this is almost certainly what will happen.

Elden Ring - Shadow of the Erdtree Expansion Announced

I think I still have about a quarter of the game to finish yet. -
I had exactly these problems when I started playing RE4 on the Quest and nearly changed it to the shortcut setting. With a bit more time it all became second nature but because it's new it needed that repetition for it to click. In general, I think playing that helped me find my feet quicker in this but there are a couple of things I still need to get used to in this. I'd give it a while.

So, basically, nobody should sell or buy any luxury items (cars, food, clothes, holidays, etc) during an economic pinch as some people are unable to afford them right now or something. Should all turn up at Kay Burley's house and tut when she reaches for anything that doesn't come from a value range of products. Alternatively, people could just make decisions on how to best spend their money, that they've earned, themselves.

I can't imagine buying the headset and not playing Village on it - that's the whole reason I pre-ordered the thing. After VII, I couldn't go back to the flat screen versions of them as you now what you're missing out on. Seriously, it's so well done in VR - get yourselves in.

I've had a similar issue with smooth turning on the right stick, which seems to hitch. I found that last night, if I'm not going R-L, L-R in a fairly precise line, going on a slight diagonal down, for example, it stops and I have to push again. Seems a bit daft as the only function is to turn/rotate left or right, so it shouldn't really do this and didn't do so on RE4 on Quest.

The whole thing is doable in VR, which is, by the sound of their recent update tweet, what they're doing now. They're using the the term 'mode' (as opposed to content, etc) which is what they used when they put 7 and 8 into VR. Granted 7 and 8 were in first person, but they have shown that they have the ability to do either by putting a third person mode into Village. As for how it works for RE4 as a game overall - Armature have already done it brilliantly on Quest 2. It'll take a while but I'd bet a bollock on it being the whole thing now.

Thanks for that - as for Rez, use VR control style 4.

Worked out what the problem was with the right controller in Village. If you move out of the straight horizontal right to left line when turning, it can stutter (which when you can't see the stick is a little unforgiving but it seems to be what's going on). Played the building/ puzzle game and found it really relaxing and way more absorbing than you'd probably expect - well worth a download.

What a load of utter crap that was.

Just went back into RE8 and my right stick is playing up, feels like it is getting stuck occasionally when turning, which made the part I was playing really aggravating.
-
Heard nothing but praise for that - very much on my radar.

Not sure - I found the ghosting in Horizon really jarring but RE8 seemed really good to me. I find I need the odd adjustment but mostly it seems fine - it's quite subjective , I suppose. Like Kromeo says, make sure you use the dial at the back to tighten it enough.

Something Astrobot related would probably be the safest bet along with what RE4 VR mode actually is (seeing as Capcom chose yesterday to tweet about it). I'm now thinking it's the full game in VR due to the wording in that tweet.

Got to the first pile on and was just running round trying to remember where to reach for my medication - it was pointing near my shoulder and I kept grabbing nothing while a lycan was chomping on my testicles. Need to sort that out for tonight's session. It's a free upgrade but it's easily the best thing on it for my money. To think we'll likely have RE4 later in the year is like Christmas come early.

Standing in front of the sparring mannequin and looking up close at its face was really creepy - then it winds up for a punch. The textures on that are so crisp and clear.

My thoughts exactly - stands above everything I've played so far.

Just finished the first hour or so in Village and, once again, Capcom have pulled it out of the bag and delivered the game you need to play on the new shiny. Everything works so well - the flashlight positions, the feedback on the weapons (OMG!) and the lighting. The scene when the guys come into your home fooled my brain momentarily into thinking someone had come into the lounge through a door to the left. Imagine what these guys could do building a current-gen only title from the ground up for this thing. It's really fucking good and I'm so happy this is my first time playing it.

It took me a few minutes to get into doing it but it just works brilliantly.

Agree with all of that - it almost feels like your getting stuttering and frame drops when turning with the right controller. The hands not behaving when climbing is also a bit wank as it pulls you right out of it. As you say, I think the bows in Skyrim felt more natural than this with a pair of Motion controls. I've used eye-tracking for Rez which was cool and I think I'm buying Song in the Smoke next as that feels really nice. Need to charge the controllers for a bit before diving into the reason for buying it - Village.

You spent the money, so everything's good.
-
I'm cool with that - just finished it on the Quest. Perhaps an announcement on SOP tomorrow and Q4 release - pretty please?

Capcom have tweeted on JP website that VR mode for RE4 has started development - that sounds like more than an bit of additional content.
