  1. I do like the later series of Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern and Top Chef / Top Chef Masters
  2. Some nice posts in here of late, I like the tones you have there MrCarrot.
  3. I know it's a pre-order cost, but bloody hell ~ Canon EF 24-70mm MkII Looking at the weight I bet they could have kept it at under 1Kg if they opted for an IS version.
  4. Just watched the first couple of minutes of that but I'm in work, certainly seems worthy of sitting down and watching it this evening... Cheers for the link Rev.
  5. I've looked at his stuff previously, seems to make some very good products ~ His site is still all over the shop though. It's all about the smell...
  6. What did you go for if you don't mind me asking? I've been on the hunt for one and settled on Wapiti Straps, it's yet to arrive to see what it's like ~ The stock strap feels like it sits in my armpit.
  7. 1. You could check out 85mm Street Photography, he has two PDF documents which are free and some sample videos of shooting on the street: http://www.85mm.ch Kinda risky depending on where you're shooting... 2. I suppose intermingle and enjoy yourself, don't be too impsoing by not saying much and sticking a camera in people's faces ~ When you're chatting and people are enjoing themselves it would be easier to swing the camera up and get a rather natural shot IMO. 3. Unsure on courses, but there are some good videos on Kelby Training ~ http://kelbytraining.com/ No everyones cup of tea but some good info in some of the videos, like watching the non nonsense Jay Maisel.
  8. Cheers... Not a bad idea Totoro, would have to clean up the dust bunnies first me thinks.
  9. Nice Scratchy_Bollock , would love to have the opportunity to shoot at those locations.... That looks like a hell of a place to shoot.
  10. Not bad for grabbing that on a phone.... Nice rumblecat, love the elephant. I ventured out today and some some god awful effects off my filters... Looked like some poor souls were lost at sea, the helicopter was searching until dark .... Snapped this while waiting for the sun to set:
  11. Going on Canon Rumours, perhaps in the next few months; http://www.canonrumors.com/
  12. Hope you enjoy it, you'll probably be cursing it while you get used to it. I would recommend picking up something like the following unless you want to use two filters (pop the glass on one and reverse the other) to protect the lens: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/METAL-Lens-Hood-52mm-f-FUJIFILM-LH-X100-AR-X100-Adapter-/230669329378?pt=UK_Photography_CameraLenses_Lens_caps_hoods_adaptors_ET&hash=item35b4f6a3e2
  13. The second looks great as it's a little tighter, but prefer the light that you had coming through the window on the first. The amount of times I've been down the coast and it's been so dull is unreal, yet looking out of the office window now and usually driving home from work I find the sky awash with colour...
  14. Nice pictures there Pope ~ On the filters I went Cokin -> Lee -> Hitech I would certainly have to agree that Lee are superb over the other two, I've always heard good things about Singh-Ray Filters but have yet to try one. Wouldn't mind giving the Big Lee Stopper a go, I did have one on order a very long time ago with WEX, but I cancelled it after a number of months to put the money into something else ~ I was weak the other day, someone posted on POTN about a B&W 20 Stop Filter they had purchased by mistake, epic shutter times on that thing.

I went from a Bamboo A6 to an Intuos 4 Large... woha, I wouldn't want to go back. Personally I really like the A6 to start with, so if you're unsure I would keep an eye out for one on sale and give one a go ~ They sometimes pop-up for £30 odd quid new. I only use it for editing pictures in PS mind you.
  16. Hope all is Ok, doesn't sound like it's taken too much of a knock.
  17. Hmmm, if you really wanted to test it out you could try this: http://regex.info/blog/photo-tech/focus-chart Me, I would just try line up a few batteries and take some test shots at different Shutter Speeds and Apertures just to see if all looks Ok.
  18. Yep, I've got the Visible Dust Arctic Butterfly. 1. Cleaned my Canon 400D many times, never had an issue. 2. Cleaned my Canon 50D once, screwed up, sent it off to Canon (free of charge) for a Pro Clean. 3. Never touched my 5D MkII since the 50D incident Like a tool I picked up some lubricant on the Arctic Butterfly from the outer edge of the sensor, spreading it across the whole of the sensor *facepalm* Looks like you can update: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4220 If it fails you can look into the free DNG Converter: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5310
  19. 1st ~ 2 - Swallow 2nd ~ 3 - neal before zod 3rd ~ 5 - sonicwave
  20. Na, I wish I was very steady but that was shot at 1/1,000 sec. I'll have to pop over Dunraven Bay soon, I don't like Southerndown too much in the summer, way too busy, but should be ideal this time of the year I suppose.
  21. Nash Point is pretty good for landscapes and just down the road from you. I didn't see the gazette but I think I know the picture you're on about, it wasn't me though, I didn't bother with the tripod and just went handheld on that occasion.
  22. I've got the Black Rapid RS-4, if I were to go for another it would be the Luma Labs Cinch. However, I would only want a long-ish neck strap as it's for a lightweight compact camera ~ Something I can have over the neck/should and to be used when I've also got the Black Rapid on (going to have to test it first to see if they would work together mind you).
  23. The learning curve isn't too bad, but at least you've made a decision on having a really portable setup which you can take everywhere. That's my plan for 2012, two smaller setups which you can take everywhere with you rather than lug around the beast. That looks like a cracking camera, hope you like it Dr Nookie Cheers... I got annihilated by a gust of wind which threw a crap load of sea foam into me, rancid. Are you local to that area View PostSpatial?
