IDLES have a new track out. They continue to be utterly brutal and brilliant. Teasing a new EP or LP next week. Song contains multiple WWE references. edit: I can't stop listening to this. Not been this in love with a band for years. Streets ahead of every other British band for me.

The awful skit at the start stops abruptly and from 25 minutes onwards it's a very good episode. They've got a bit too 'good' at doing these political drama bits now and it means they just come across as nasty. Still, we're about to get in to E3 season and TCGS does this better than anyone. Can't wait to hear how they fuck with Matt and his need to be involved all the time.

Handmade Festival at the weekend had some cracking female fronted bands, definitely the most I've seen at a festival. Some highlights not yet mentioned: Peaness - Same Place Findlay - Off & On. Bit high production value pop-rock but she was a hell of a performer.

Big fan of Frightened Rabbit and seen them live a bunch of times. Have chatted to them a few times too and they all seemed like lovely guys, Scott has always been great at the between song chat and seems very relaxed on stage. Much like it did for everyone else, Midnight Organ Fight felt like a hugely personal album. Backwards Walk is me and my wife's song. Worried.

I've got really bored over the years of the sexist assumption that if there is one female in a team of men then she must be having sex with one of them and it's just a question of who.

Are you sure it's not Body Work by MSTRKRFT. It fits but the lyric is 'makes your body work'

Jimquisition based on a scan down the charts. I would back TCGS in an actual fight though.

I thought Ben was a pretty good Bombcast host the other week. He had a specific job to do and it made him cut out some of his random bullshit. I've still got patience for the guy but it's getting on for a year now and I still couldn't really point to anything he has been able to improve. He did his "friends we make along the way" joke for at least the fourth time on something last week. Still not at all funny.

Saw Boris supporting a Belgian metal band called Amenra last weekend. Boris covered several genres within their set, as expected. I struggled to get in to it more than I thought I might as I was always more of a fan of their more structured punky stuff and they only played two tracks of that. Far too much of it was just far too slow, even for doom metal, they did a new romantic interlude for a bit too. That said, the opening act was a cellist with a sequencer and she was bloody superb. Her name was Jo Quail, the only thing I can find on YouTube close to what she was playing is: She was able to change her set to account for the fact she was supporting metal bands though and produced some absolutely brilliant stuff. Up next for me is HandMade Festival in Leicester, which I'm incredibly excited about.

The Fall really had a ridiculous number of good songs and continued to put out great tunes on a yearly basis. Damn shame.

The amount of abuse Abby gets on social media far outweighs that of other team members and a lot of it is pretty appalling. I can 100% understand why she doesn't open herself up to that. It's up to her managers to gauge audience feedback and to use it to help her develop where they see fit.

The most positive about a game they've been in this year's discussion is Cuphead. I'd expect it to be to three. I've enjoyed this year's much less too. East and West have diverged quite a bit over the last twelve months and this set of podcasts is showing how they don't really gel anymore. Best music, best Wolfenstein moment, hottest mess and biggest disappointment have been the only discussions worth listening to I think.

It's £70 now.

The GOTY podcasts are obscenely long. The shortest episode this year is almost as long as the previous longest ever episode. Fast forward fingers at the ready.

This wee's UPF is top-tier, unsurprisingly. Abby in VR was great.

I thought Greg Miller was pretty good on the Bombcast, he was well-informed and complemented the group well. He utterly does my head in on E3 Live shows and I've found what I've seen of Kinda Funny to just be painful so I'd half a mind to skip the episode but the Wolfenstein and Mario chat was really good.

Robo Recall is bloody marvellous. Lucky's Tale is better than it gets given credit for too, I think. Just search for them on the store and they should already be listed as 'purchased'. Superhot VR and Rez Infinite are my most played.

It's an 'Of Mice and Men' reference.

Almost £50 all in. Daaaaamn. As much as I'd like to see them and DFA1979 on the same bill I will just have to stick with the Royal Blood support slot. Gig ticket prices are really shooting up at the minute. Glad the UK punk scene is having a mini golden age.

I was able to pick up both Gross and Sanches in our league 2 this week, hopefully that works out. I think the key thing is to keep an eye out for defenders to rotate depending on opposition and take a chance on an in-form midfielder or two to build around the established core players.
