https://www.eurogamer.net/high-on-life-is-now-the-most-popular-thing-on-xbox-game-pass Looks like it's doing well on GamePass...most popular thing on there at the moment! Finished the second boss and finding it a bit of fun TBH. Gameplay is a bit meh and generic but loving the visual style and the humour. The crazy story is nicely light hearted too. Good to play something that doesn't take itself too seriously.
  3. Ah just buy it ... its not that expensive and give some money back to the devs... Think I paid £30 on Xbox for it.. worth every penny IMHO.... I was thinking about getting a physical copy though as I only have a digital on the Xbox. But then I'd need a Switch or something...
  4. Another for Breath Of The Wild. I think for me Nintendo took it in a direction of games that I do not enjoy playing. Enjoyed the format and fairly linear story telling elements of the previous Zelda games kind of what made them magical for me. With Breath Of The Wild it transitioned to fully open world and more of a typical RPG type formula. Having items that break etc just makes it feel like more work like than entertainment. Tried a few times but just gave up. All R* output. GTA and RDR. Appreciate the technical achievements with the game worlds but the mission structure etc I just don't enjoy. Not overly engaged with the stories either. Think last R* game I tried was RDR2 which I actually enjoyed until I got to the camp. Then I had to start chasing around to earn money etc. At which point I turned it off and never went back. Again it feels like work not entertainment for me. I thought it was open world games I don't like however loved the original Crackdown on the 360. Lastly the original Halo. Never finished this despite starting it countess times. Never sure why I never finish up on it. Don't think I dislike it just doesn't keep me engaged enough and interest tales off.
  5. I *think* its the same one... There was a demo of it on PSVR I think....
  6. Never really played mobile games at all on the phone. Tried a few things back when the iPhone was originally released mainly physics based puzzlers using the gyro or touch screen. Think main reason is I don't like touch controls or playing on a small screen. I do actually like the idea of using a phone docked to a big screen with a full size controller though... an all in one device. As phones get ever more powerful I can see this as being a viable option for casual console-type gaming at some point. Looking at many indie game I've enjoyed over the years they could easily run on a current mobile phone.
  7. As expected GT7 took most of my PS gametime this year!

Agree! Had another session with it last night.. its fun.. .but wow the constant jibber jabber from the guns and then NPCs in the game get a bit annoying at times... seemed to get worse during a certain bit on the second bounty. It's OK as a game however just not sure how long I can put up with the chit chat..

Modern gaming right... Sigh. Nothing seems to get released these days without a day one patch that is many GBs in size. Probably in future I'll just wait a week and then play something. Just seems to be the norm.... Do miss the times when games weren't so easy to patch as this didn't happen so often as it could have been an expensive mistake so QA was more rigorous. Saying that I guess things were less complex I guess.

Just had another go on this and finished the first contract/bounty. Reminds me of a mix between a FPS, Crackdown and Sunset Overdrive. But well not as good as any?! It's actually making me want to go back and play Crackdown again! Don't think I'll be chasing my second contract down... fun game like playing through an episode of Futurama or something. Talking weapons a novelty. Gameplay a bit meh as is the story. Hunt for the Xmas game continues it seems...

£60 RRP om Xbox. Would have been disappointed if I'd have paid that TBH from what I've played so far...

Had around 30mins or so on this... Not too bad really... a parody of FPS games! Made me smile in places... Never watched Rick and Morty before so not really sure about the humour in there but this is amusing enough. Sure there is a bit of swearing in there but not excessively so IMHO. Performance wise nothing really to complain about didn't go out of my way to look for issues though just enjoyed moving through the world and experiencing it. Great to play something that doesn't take itself seriously... kind of reminds me a bit of playing a Serious Sam game with some of the mechanics of various FPS games. Downloading to my PC too as generally like playing a bit old school (mouse + kb) on these type of games.

Great... so now not really looking forward to paying this... I will report back at some point on a Series S here (and can try it on PC too)

Ah who cares about "professional" review scores anymore?! Well I don't anyway they seem to be mostly at odds with what I enjoy half of the time.... I get better insight on here .. maybe we should have review polls at the top of bigger releases?!
  15. The Series S is a fantastic bit of kit. My favourite console design for a long while. It's how consoles always used to be compact quiet. Amazing design form MS considering its past efforts!

Sounds like it's going to be one of those games .... a bit marmite.... Perfect for GamePass then....
  17. Thats a good point actually. Games seem to be driven by internet sites these days. In their quest for constant updates and news to report on etc. Such as it is today. Most enjoyable and challenging games I've played have been Nintendo ones TBH. The "grown up" games are just have quite generic mechanics with guns/violence layerd on top to sell the game to the selected audience. Mario Odyssey for example has been my favourite games on the current crop of machines. Just a shame there wasn't more of it! Almost tempted to get another Switch with a copy and play through again as its been a long while... Great Xmas game...
  18. Well its something different I guess... who knows what it'll be like... The title says "Xmas game" its the only thing thats getting released mildly of interest TBH just seems something a bit more fun than the norm. It maybe complete rubbish of course... So probably end up firing the Atari Celebration thing up again and playing some Tempest 2000 on and off... Ideally I'd like a new Mario game to play over Xmas as I love those... but well...
  19. Same.. out tomorrow too... Surprised there isn't a topic on this on here yet.... Guess its buried within the GP one along with everything else..
  20. Well think some gamers are very tribal - almost like football team supporters... Personally don't really care however don't want multiple boxes around either. So tend to just try and stick with one format.
  21. Yes while Sony and MS are battling it out spending millions/billions on whatever Nintendo keep making the sales and bringing the money home... Must be funny in the sales meetings at either Sony/MS bet they don't even mention Nintendo its game sales and the five year old Switch powered by mobile phone tech.... Love how they just went along with MS too re: the recent CoD stuff.. yeah whatever bring it over here. I really enjoy keeping an eye on Nintendo as they really do throw curveballs into the market and generally make it a bit more interesting than just another box that plays the same old. Just wish they'd get another new Mario out.. they really are procrastinating in their current gen - think Odyssey was five years ago now... it would be really nice to have another new Mario.. especially this time of year.
  22. Indeed funny reading them... don't waste my time on them anymore these days - they used to pop up on a feed that google something thought I should be following!!! I think gaming, and in particular console gaming seems to have moved in the PC arena regarding frame rates, resolutions etc. I mean sure if there are game breaking problems with them fair enough but don't see the odd dip in framerate or the odd missing texture detail a problem really I mean they are what they are they are based on PC tech that is what 3-4 years old (or older now) now and cost less that a GPU card for a PC? I don't have massive expectations from the tech and TBH not really been disappointed with the quality of the hardware itself... some of the actual games themselves perhaps more so! Think its more for the fanboy format wars brigade. But then I remember trying to play say Shadow Of The Colossus on the PS2 so just appreciate things I guess.... As for Nintendo its always appealed to a certain sector of the market and will continue to do so.. there is always another army of younger gamers that want something fun to play and really al large section of gamers really don't care about all the tech stuff. Have they seen the size of the mobile market? Not sure why some review channels compare games on Switch to say the consoles from MS & Sony or PCs they are what they are TBH.
  23. The old Forza games are my favourites. In particular Forza Motorsport 3 for the breath of tracks on it. Really miss the point to point tracks there don't seem to be in the later ones. I especially enjoyed Fujimi Kaido, Amalfi Coast etc. I mean look at the track list. The games after 4 seemed to be a bit flat and really focussed on going more down the simulation route and for me aren't as fun as in the circuits just aren't as interesting to drive around.. Prague and Bernese Alps were OK I guess.
  24. Yep have an old G5 tower as a coffee table here in my man den... make a great one too...
  25. Never got on with that... and I paid full whack for it. Live and learn and all that.
