  1. I only need to know one thing: where they are.
  2. Origins. At least there isn't a colon, I suppose.
  3. Will probably last 30 seconds just like all the other times. Like it or not, she loves that twat.
  4. It's lovely to see so many new people discovering this wonder of a game.
  5. I'm so sorry to hear that, tnman. This must be an awful time - I hope you have friends and family who are helping you through it.
  6. 5 other couples. Liberty and Jake Mary and Aaron Millie and Liam Kaz and Tyler Chloe and Toby Proper awkward when Faye was explaining her thoughts, and Liberty and Millie were right there next to her. They knoooooow a storm’s coming! It will shock you all to the core to hear this, but I don’t think that Jake is in love with Liberty.
  7. House of Jealous Lovers by The Rapture. Lovely instrumentation, a brilliant tune... completely ruined by the lead singer's voice.
  8. So… er… the second episode, then. (Every episode of the US Office was original except for the pilot. The second episode, Diversity Day, is still seen as one of the best in the entire run. The rest of season one wasn’t as good as the show it became, not because there weren’t funny bits, but because they hadn’t yet retooled the Michael Scott character to humanise him - I suppose this could be argued as the ‘UK legacy’ of the David Brent character which they overcame. In season 1, he was pretty nasty and selfish. From season 2, he really cared about his employees and that made his antics much more sympathetic for the audience.)
  9. News! Appears to be August 26! https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2021-08-12-looks-like-spelunky-1-and-2-launch-on-nintendo-switch-this-month I am PRAYING for cross-platform online play (even though it's unlikely) so that my partner and I can have a full screen each on PS5 and Switch. Currently we're playing local co-op on Spelunky 2 and it causes a lot of needless deaths. We killed Yama in the first game with her on PS4 and me on Vita - it was amazing.
  10. I think they could go slightly up the controls scale without turning it into iRacing - there are plenty of people who simply don't think it's good to play. I'm not quite there but I can see their point. Just nudge it up a smidge!
  11. Noice! Let us know what you think of it after you've had a play!
  12. Yes, but you're still 'you' in terms of your running and jumping abilities even if what happens to you on the course turns out to be very unfair. You're not flobbing about with only 50% control over your limbs unless you've had a skinful the night before the show! I'm all for the slapstick, I just want the controls to be tighter.
  13. Yes, don't watch the video unless you get truly stuck on what things mean. But you won't, because this info all gets skilfully drip-fed to you in what is an amazingly designed progression curve.
  14. It's pretty unfortunate that it doesn't look like that's going to happen.
  15. Please point me towards the 'loads of' 60 player battle royale platformers with Mario levels of control.... Don't get me wrong, I know exactly what you and Dudley mean about the challenges of making such a game. In order to avoid elite players ruining it for everyone else, there would have to be skill-based matchmaking that's a level beyond anything out there. But I do dream of evenly matched players competing in a Wipeout/Takeshi's Castle style game, where anyone can have a decent, fair experience, and which has better controls than Fall Guys has. I know that Giant Bomb's Jeff Gerstmann loves the idea of Fall Guys but totally hates the execution - I wouldn't go as far as him as I think that it's a decent game, but it's not quite what I wanted and I don't play it as much as I would do if it didn't feel so floaty (it's the LittleBigPlanet problem all over again for me). I'm sure there are elite level Fall Guys players who pretty much always win unless they RNG onto a very bad team in a particular round.
  16. Hades is one of the best games I've ever played. Everyone should try it! I'm definitely going to install it - even if I don't commit to starting again properly from scratch, I can't wait to see that gorgeous art in 4K.
  17. Not sure about these Marvel rumours, maybe she just managed to get out because she knew it was going to be shit.
  18. Visually lovely but looks pretty frustrating to play from that trailer. I would prefer to see a Fall Guys equivalent with precise platforming controls, tbh. I know part of the charm is supposed to be that the movement is designed to be a bit woolly as it levels the playing field a bit (I’m hoping the devs don’t actually think the controls are good!), but it’s often annoying that it’s so dodgy.
  19. On Game Pass I'm currently dipping in and out of: Microsoft Flight Simulator Last Stop Dodgeball Academia The Ascent It's completely ridiculous that I don't have to pay anything more for this service until May 2022 thanks to the Xbox Live Gold trick.
  20. I haven't used an Akai Force so can't comment on that (its RRP at launch and a few grumbles about it early days put me off after my initial excitement over the thought of Ableton in a box - has it had some good firmware updates since?). Batting for the Deluge, I'd say that it can be as simple or complex as you want to make it. Just getting a tune going is incredibly easy. Using everything the hardware can do is much more complicated. But your 'painting a hallway through a letterbox' analogy is an interesting one... in terms of live jamming there are certainly options that feel more alive (though some of these are very complex, such as the Octatrack), and maybe setting up a MIDI keyboard to work with the Deluge would make it more simple to be immediately musical. I have to say that I find the keyboard mode on the device itself to be a lot of fun, mind. Thinking about the 'synth pop with psychedelic sounds and that also has drums and bass' initial post, the Deluge's grid seems like a very quick and easy method to compose the bones of such a song, and then you can get deeper into the functionality to work on it from there. I must confess that I jam on the Deluge and come up with one section of a song way more than I actually finish anything on there. But every time I use it, it's so much fun. It's just me and my proclivity for jumping quickly between ideas rather than sticking to one, I suppose. I've been terrible at actually making finished music since lockdown started, which is pretty criminal really. @Lovelyman I suggest a lot of YouTube research. The likes of Loopop, Red Means Recording, True Cuckoo and Bobeats have reviewed such a huge bunch of hardware over the years. You're bound to find something you're interested in by looking at their channels. (EDIT: Just looked at the Akai Force updates since it launched. Wow, seems brilliant now!)
  21. The Synthstrom Deluge is your friend: https://synthstrom.com/product/deluge/ Here's a good YouTube video about what it does:
  22. I’ve been burnt too often by Silksong not appearing at these things, so I’m not even going to think about it. In your face, Silksong!
  23. As I said in the other thread, the inclusion of Kick Off 2 is making me tempted. I never owned an Amiga (I went straight from C64 to SNES), but loved going round the houses of friends who did. I spent many hours playing the likes of Jimmy White's Whirlwind Snooker, Kick Off 2, Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge... and Madden! I always preferred Kick Off 2 over Sensi.
