  1. I finished it for the first time yesterday! I can echo most of your thoughts. I did love the Kinstone quest, and completed it before I went for the final boss. Thought the overworld was lovely and colourful, and fun to explore, and overall it was just a really nice experience.
  2. I think the Earthbound/Mother games do this quite a lot. I’ve been playing Mother 3 recently, and while it’s a fan translation into English, I love how it dishes out the controls to the player and explains things like saving etc:
  3. Isn’t Luna US-only and still in beta? So there isn’t much to talk about on here right now. I can see them bundling a few games with Prime as a promo and selling controllers on Black Friday for a tenner, so certainly has potential.
  4. Predicting Liverpool vs invincible goalkeeper for 94 minutes, then Southampton will score a lucky goal in the last minute of injury time.
  5. I’d echo that it’s hard to tell, but the fact they’re all the ‘USA’ versions would ring alarm bells straight away.
  6. I think it’s time for a Sping breakaway thread
  7. @Popo Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings, but you could try an app like Ping to check the ping to your router’s IP first, which is how I diagnosed my issue. It might not be that at all!
  8. This game has all the hallmarks of an 89th minute lucky equaliser from Newcastle.
  9. Long shot, but try running this and keeping an eye on the ping to your router’s IP: https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/ping-network-monitor/id1397401806 I was having trouble with Stadia on my iPhone, and noticed it would spike to 100ms every 10 seconds or so to my router. Resetting the iPhone network settings sorted it for a day or so, then it came back. Reinstalling iOS fixed it completely! So worth a look. At least you can rule that out.
  10. It’s in the trailer, right? And revealed about 20 minutes in
  11. I’d have watched Moon out of that lot tbf. Sam Rockwell, man. Fantastic. Also, another great soundtrack.
  12. I really like Sunshine, but do agree the ending is terrible. There are hints of a more interesting movie in there: Overall, it’s a solid space film with a great soundtrack.
  13. The d-pad is fine, and definitely upper tier as far as d-pads go. If anything, the surface and corners are a little ‘harsh’, and they are more rounded and softer on the GBA/GB Micro. You can set the left stick to double up as the d-pad for GBA games though, and I find myself switching between them depending on the situation. I do reckon the d-pad on the GBA SP is one of the worst of the lot - super-clicky and shallow, and not much fun to use
  14. I’ve eschewed all AAA games for the last year or two (apart from Nintendo stuff), and it was a great decision. I just can’t be arsed with long cutscenes and stressful gameplay I’ve seen a million times before. Games have never been better, there has never been more of them, and there has never been so many ways to buy and play them. You just need to play the right ones.
  15. RG351 without a doubt. I bought mine for £80 from Amazon. It’s the best way to play GBA games full stop. The screen res is exactly double in each direction so games look gorgeous, and the RGA scaling works great for other consoles (including PS1). Installing 351ELEC takes care of the default scaling options for each platform, and once it’s on there’s very little faff required. I don’t rate the Vita too much for emulation - it only has two shoulder buttons, no L3 or R3, and the screen is too wide for most retro games. It’s a great little console in its own right though.
