  1. If you'd told me this time last year I'd been enjoying the Obi Wan series waaaaay more than the Boba Fett series I would have called you mad. But then the world's a funny place these days.

Dunno if knowing this was supposed to be a film at one point is altering my perception but it feels a bit more grandiose and cohesive in direction and plotting (albeit stretched in parts for the series).

    And I'm finding it hilarious how they're desperately trying to avoid going full Imperial March and Leia's Theme with the soundtrack. Can just imagine two people fighting over it in post;

"Just put the god damn tune in the scene, it's iconic and fits what's going on!!"

"Nope, I'm not doing it. But here's something that sounds quite a bit like it..."

  2. I'll be all over that. The animation style is not good (it's the same as the Warhammer + series animations which for me range from okay to downright awful) but the pre-Alpha stuff looks more than good enough for me.

Strains of the amazing 40k Mechanicus game soundtrack in there too. With that amazing fast-tempo gothic organ track of the last Darktide trailer, I'm hoping for some really cool stuff soundtrack wise.

  3. Because those were mono-pose, for me it made having extras for the Abominable Intellect cards a bit 'samey' (although you can clip a few horns off and vary the helmet colour to make them a bit more unique). This definitely opens things right up.

Of course I could wait to see if they get a separate release, or from box-splitters on Ebay, but tbh that's far too sensible and I know I'll just want them asap.

  4. I didn't get the feeling it was.  I'm being over cautious with the spoiler tags here as the episode descriptions give most of this away but;

The character certainly seems to be

    Spoiler

    Bruce Wayne

    well...of a sorts. There's references to

    Spoiler

his mother and father as Thomas and Martha

and there's a sense this fits as it being Earth-0. Albeit something is definitely off because of

    Spoiler

Bruce's job and his parents still being alive. Even Barbara Gordon's got a different role.

It's been enough to get its hooks in to me to see where its going.

  5. Not quite comics related, but kind of, the Batman Unburied audio drama on Spotify is worth a listen - first two episodes are up now

At first I was a bit sceptical from the write up / trailer, as Multiverse takes on Batman for this sort of thing don't gel with me. However first episode in and there might be more going on with the

    Spoiler

    bat sounds and necklace scene

Either way the Foley work on it is really, really good and there's a pretty stellar cast attached with Winston Duke, Jason Issacs, John Rhys Davis and Lance Reddick (to name a few).  No more Batman: Knighfall audio drama levels of grunting and hurumphing through the plot as the repeatedly used sound of a table breaking gets used for fighting scenes!

  6. I expected a Traitor Guardsman faction reveal as the stream went on, but what is there is so cool looking.

Those additional Cultists are definitely getting bought to mix in with my Cultists of the Abyss, and I'll probably get some of the others too (since the BSF fan community keep coming up with stat blocks for new stuff and custom scenarios).

The alternate heads on that Deamon Prince are just amazing, I can't decide which one I like the best.

  7. Oh hey, the Marvel Zombies pledge manager has landed... guess it's time to add that shipping and VAT... still, their estimated cost for that wasn't too ba...

    ...hang on...

    £260!!!???!!!!

    :omg:

I know things are messed up globally right now, but I think this will be the last CMON Kickstarter I ever back - I'll just go basic retail on their stuff from this point on. The money I'll save on additional plastic models can go to other stuff and I won't have to worry about paying through the nose and still ending up with damaged trays or boxes (only to be told by CMON Customer Support to get stuffed).

Compare this to Awakened Realms who recently swallowed the increased shipping costs for Etherfields (and even put up a mini card expansion for people who wanted to pitch in to help towards the shipping costs). CMON have just told people to suck it up.

  8. Rescuing mini's from Ebay is a proper mixed bag.

I bought these clan rats last month, they didn't look too bad in the listing and I didn't pay too much attention on arrival other than checking they were all there.

Taken a proper look this afternoon and they're a bit of a nightmare. The brown paint is so thick in parts that it's obscuring lots of detail (so unlike some other stuff I've grabbed cheap I can't get away with just re-priming). The blue bits which I thought were just recast patchwork is actually blue paint

So I've spent all afternoon soaking some little rat people in Isopropyl alcohol and giving them a good scrub down.

The plus side is I'm off my tits on the IPA fumes.

  9. Yay, my pledge has arrived!

Holy crap, that's a lot of stuff. I mean, you see the photos, but it still never prepares you for the sheer amount of stuff when it actually arrives :omg:

Going to have to open it all later and make sure it's all okay.

  10. My Radukar took a lot of join filling to get him to look right and his Hat / Hair thing still isn't as it should be

I get the feeling Kritza is turning up in a Cursed City expansion at some point so I just know I'm going to be turning the air blue.

I've spent the afternoon putting some Warband sets together - bloody brilliant tooling on some of them. The Darkoath and Sepulchural Guard were a joy and they hide some of the joins brilliantly. When GW nail the scuplts, they really nail them.

Yeah I really wanted the traitor commissar, I've got a spare imperial one from a Imperial Guard starter box because of course I do, so just going to attack him with Green stuff. I must have a power fist in that box too...

I'd be interested to see how you get on as I was looking at kit-bashing something together at one point. There was a third party Chaos Commissar that might have helped fit the bill with a head swap, and I even thought about using some Necromunda stuff.

Stuff like this is so cool:

  11. Definitely - CMON support seem to be suggesting that they view the inserts as disposable so likely won't be replaced, but the Sentinels are a whole different thing.

Any idea what backer numbers you were @LiMuBai @Munkienut? I'm just over the 2500 mark, and trying to work out if I should be alarmed that I still haven't heard a peep about dispatch or delivery.

  12. For a change from Sigmar stuff I started putting together some of the Blackstone Fortress enemy mini's today.

Lovely sculpts to the Traitor Guardsmen and Beastmen (love the Ur-Ghuls - so basic but so cool looking) but what a night and day difference they all are so far in terms of construction when compared to the Cursed City ones.

So far they actually push fit together better (and are less gappy) than almost all of the Cursed City stuff. Haven't even needed to refer to the instructions for them yet, whereas Cursed City left me scratching my head a bit even with the instructions in front of me.

edit: I eventually managed to snag the Traitor Command models and expansion separate from one another too (and saving myself anything from £130 upwards in the process!).

Hunting around for the models did open my eyes to see how cheeky some people are trying to pass recasts off as legit models. Trying to find that Chaos Ogryn and Commissar led me down the murky path of looking at recasts (surprisingly easy to source them if you're persistent) but at least with those they were OOP and I knew what I was buying. But seems some people had no qualms about buying them and then hocking them on Ebay for upwards of four times the price claiming they are the real thing.

  13. I am teh jelous - still impatiently waiting for my all-in to even be dispatched ☹️ Hopefully this week is the week for me!

Out of interest any damage to your inserts or mini's? I see lots of people in the K'starter comments saying the inserts are brittle and have split or even disintegrated, ending up in some peoples Sentinels and other mini's arriving broken.

  14. Before I subject myself to the horrors of Ebay, anyone interested in the complete campaign cards for Arkham Horror: The Dunwch Legacy campaign?

All the cards are sealed and from the newly release campaign box format, so will include all any errata changes.

edit: Gone via Ebay. Took 2 Additional Horror in the process.

I missed this until today but Blackstone Fortress' base game got a bit of a push again last month

Is this typical GW practice and them just the clearing old stock? (the base game has still been available here for some time)

I'm just wondering if this signals we could get the expansions reprinted too (bursting the inflated Ebay price bubble) cos I'm hankering for those without having to sell an organ.

If some kind soul has a copy of BSF: No Respite that they want to offload for a sensible price (not the insane Ebay prices), please let me know. I don't want the Plague marine models but really just the tokens, boards and cards.

Oh, and if anyone has the models from the Traitor Command pack they would like the sell, I'd be happy to buy them for a reasonable price (not the current second hand price of £90... per model!!!!)
