I liked the Ninja track the least because it felt far too busy and I'd often be guessing which way to turn until the last moment. I'm sure it'll grow on me once I've played it more though; it definitely looks pretty.

Played through the new tracks in Grand Prix mode and they're fun, can't wait to pick one to obsessively time trial.

Maybe they'll release a new version of Mario Kart 8 with all the tracks included by default on the next Switch.

Is Ninja Hideaway a brand new track? Doesn’t say it’s from an old version.
It's from Mario Kart Tour.

First team of DLC characters have released all of a sudden: Rock Howard, Gato and B. Jenet, alongside a balance patch.
Not played much since getting to level 16 in Ranked for the trophy. I feel compelled to get the other trophies but you have to play through the single player Story mode a bunch of times and every time I start it I just cannot be bothered.
I thought level 16 would be too difficult for me to reach because the matchmaking pool is so small you get thrown in against absolute monsters pretty often but you get two stars for your first win of the day and don't lose any for your first loss so you can make very gradual progress with zero risk if you just keep waiting til tomorrow, haha.
Really enjoyed my time with it though, the advice I read about holding down the button(s) when performing specials/supers was incredibly helpful since it turns otherwise tight links/cancels into generous timings of about a quarter or a second. I still mess up a lot from missing directions on MAX Supers in particular but I think I need to break-in the dpad of the DualSense a bit more.
I got decent mileage out of Shermie's command throw without the followup leading into a natural safe jump if you just hold up-forward and jump attack. People love to buttons. It's a good game for buttons.
Anyway it's a good videogame and I look forward to never playing it again.

I've played through all the GP mode cups up to Expert* now and had a great time with it despite the occasional dips in framerate and the sensitive JoyCon but for whatever reason the frame drops are even more severe in Time Trial mode, despite the empty grid. It's not ruinous but it is frustrating. I hope it sees improvement in future updates.
Ideally I'd like to see F-Zero X get an upgraded port in the same vein as SEGA AGES Virtua Racing. Keep the visuals as simple and clean as they are, up the res and performance. Add the Xpansion's trackbuilder and include CPU racers in multiplayer (or have 30 racers online if possible). I'll settle for them sorting the framerate of the emulation though.
*no way I'll be finishing Master without some calculated murders.

Playing games on an emulator on PC isnt as good because I have to turn on the PC.

I think it looks great, it's held up much better than I expected. I much prefer how it handles to GX as well.

Got Gran Turismo 7 and Elden Ring this week and ended up playing this all night instead, haha.

I loved Wave Race 64 a lot, its gonna be a bit of a shock to play something faster than the PAL version I'm used to though!
Pilotwings 64 is what I want most. Are there licensing issues with it?

Played the first two cups on Novice. Analogue controls are very, very sensitive as N64 games often are when emulated because modern sticks don't have to grind through a mound of plastic parmesan. Would have been nice if they'd either adjusted it a little or added a sensitivity slider.
Definite slowdown in a few instances as well, particularly when the entire pack converged on the narrow bridge of White Land. Probably dipped to 40~50fps. I can't remember if this was the case on original hardware because I was less sensitive to it back then (especially on N64 when 20fps wasn't uncommon).
Anyway it is brilliant and I love it. One of the greatest racing games of all time.

Aaah I love F-Zero X with it's big, gaudy colours and gnarly guitars.

Oh cool, was keen to try Team Sonic Racing, but not keen enough to pay for it.

Nate's latest Hit Points piece talks about Street Fighter
VI6 and the ways in which Capcom will inevitably fail to correct mistakes they made with SFV:https://hitpoints.substack.com/p/97-fighting-talk?utm_source=url

Yusuke Hashimoto, who has worked on both Bayonetta games (the second as director), Devil May Cry, Resident Evil 4, God Hand and, uh, Star Fox Zero, is one of the designers working on Street Fighter 6.

They did release Marvel vs Capcom Origins and Jo Jo's collections on 360/PS3 in 2012 however both were delisted a couple of years later.

I've only played Powerstone solo so I have absolutely no affection for it.

Capcom have announced a new collection of arcade fighting games which includes all of the Darkstalkers games, Cyberbots, Red Earth, Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix and Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo. And then another version of Street Fighter II because it wouldn't be a Capcom collection without it.
All games are playable online with rollback netcode, and training modes added for the fighting games. The menu in the trailer showed an option for one button special moves, and a choice to limit matchmaking to your own region. No word on cross-platform online play so I doubt it's included, which is a shame.
They've included a load of concept art and music too. Releasing on PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC. and music

The countdown has frozen at "1 hours". They probably deliberately didn't change it to hours:minutes in the final 24 hours so they could manually flip the switch after the Capcom Fighters stream's Street Fighter V matches have finished.
I'm pretty excited now, I've had so much tea (two teas).

Capcom stream is about to head into its final first to five set, Daigo vs Kawano, and UltraDavid said "...and maybe a little something after that" so I guess it really is gonna be Street Fighter 6.
Or Street Fighter Duel on iPhone and Android's western launch.
