  1. I’m pretty sure that was one of the extra filler episodes Apple requested at the end. It had its moments, but definitely one of the weaker episodes this season.
  2. The Thing was only released this week. I preordered it a while back.
  3. Good post today! That’s the Donnie Darko 4K replacement disc, so they’re starting to arrive now!
  4. I think they just had to reduce fabric quality and quality control to up production capacity to cover the insane output required to keep the whole thing rolling. Whereas they were more of a boutique operation at the start, where it’s easy to keep the quality high.
  5. I watched all of this and enjoyed it. There’s a great podcast about multi-level marketing called The Dream that I’d also recommend if you liked this.
  6. There’s a couple of shots with a red tinge and a batshit twist, which is really all it takes to be a giallo homage it seems. As a Bava/Argento fan, I thought it was mild lip service at best.
  7. A few I watched recently that I’d not seen before and really enjoyed (sure you’ve seen these but just in case): Goodnight Mommy - Creepy The Skin I Live In - Although this is technically a Hitchcock-Esque thriller it still weirded me out more than most recent horrors Haunters: Art of the Scare - Documentary, but The section on McKamey manor was far more disturbing than most actual horror films, particularly as the guy running it clearly got off on fucking people up. I also really enjoyed the two four hour ‘In Search of Darkness’ docs, which were great for suggesting some forgotten gems from the 80’s.
  8. Just finished Malignant. What a weird film. For the most part it’s one of those polished but weirdly bloodless early 2000 PG13 horror movies like 13 Ghosts or Gothika, then it just suddenly turns into an 80’s low budget gorefest for the last 30 minutes.
  9. Muscle Shoals is a good doc along these lines - recommended if you’ve not seen that one. Features some amazing musical performances.
  10. I thought it’d be great to use streaming services to do a branching horror film, where everyone get a slightly different mix of the film with scares in different places. So sometimes when the mirror cabinet closes there is a monster standing behind them, sometimes there isn’t. Think it’d be quite cool.

  12. Rich Stanton was definitely not working on the mag at the time of the GTA 3 review - he joined Edge/games industry in the mid/late 2000’s, which I know because I was on the first press trip he was ever on.
  13. Really wish they’d adapt the thought finder post-game to detect figments. Would make clean up way less tedious.
  14. Has anyone been following the ‘Roy Kent is CG’ debate? Basically a rumour started recently that Roy Kent is actually a computer generated character and not an actor. Various Internet Sherlocks have been finding ‘proof’ for the past few days. Apparently Apple are using the show as a Trojan Horse to try out their secret AI technology. Today, Roy Kent ‘actor’ Brett Goldstein finally broke his silence. Think we can safely put this one to bed now.
  15. The movie was originally due for release last year so it’s been finished for ages. As mentioned above it’s purely to get the best box office return.
  16. Can we use the combined might of Rllmuk to try and make this happen?
  17. I found turning on the assists (mainly invincibility) made this game way more likeable. Honestly felt it would have been more fun without the combat.
  18. Brett Goldstein was originally hired as a writer, and was in the writer’s room for the first series - he only auditioned for the role after they’d written all the scripts in fact.
  19. I just made a game in Roblox - would love some feedback (particularly if you have kids!) as it still needs a lot of work - there's no purchases or monetization in it, but it is sponsored by the US Milk board. https://www.roblox.com/games/6780552733/Street-Games-by-got-milk
  20. Also, if we’re going the wishing route, you’d think he’d throw in a “Oh and resurrect my father figure and mentor Tony Stark while you’re at it.”
  21. Well he does now, but don’t forget his first American film Mimic was a big flop. He had to go away from the Hollywood system to make the award winning The Devil’s Backbone and before they gave him another shot. It was only the one-two punch of Hellboy and Pan’s Labyrinth that made him viable for mainstream films again.
