  1. I tried to read Feersum Endjin last night and found it incomprehensible. Got Use Of Weapons today as it's supposed to be one of the best Culture novels. Finished Look To Windward a couple of nights ago and thought it was excellent, which was a nice surprise as I was expecting something a little more turgid for some reason.
  2. I had an amazing run as a medic with a new fellow who was my partner heavy last night. We were those annoying twats on map two of Dustbowl, keeping everyone in spawn. We stayed together on that map and I broke all my records, but didn't get to see my report on the end of the map as I'd pressed the Windows key while fumbling to crouch. I got three achievements last night, including Hardcore during that medic run. Well pleased. Then we went to Badwater and there was no obvious partner to be with, many deaths were experienced.

Richard Herring said at the start of his show that he wasn't wearing his Hitler Moustache as some sort of rebellious act, like a sixteen year old proving a point with 'There's no law against it, it's you that have the problem'.   6. - Anything. Town, country, island, spaceport on the Moon. - Scale is kind of set by walking. I can't see an easy reason for changing it, though it's not impossible (see: Moon Spaceport). - Yes. It's absolutely true that the landmarks are important. Those are what will drive the players on, places to go to. - Aye. A neat, boring map would easily be trumped by a scruffy, inventive map.

  11. I'm going to set it up to be Dustbowl only. The last few weeks we've only had a few players on Sundays, this should fill the server. All talk is OFF. I reckon there'll be enough strangers for us all to fit on one team, let's keep the voice for tactical talk tonight.

  16. My son was playing Prop Hunt games last night, really interesting to see what they've done with it. The Blu team spawns as heavies and pyros, the Red team spawns as scouts. The scouts can't shoot and look like props from the game instead of scouts (barrells, chimneys, stacks of wood, etc.), they have to hide and survive until the countdown runs out. Blu team members lose health when firing, players get healed when passing over capture points (which are inactive). Anyway, it's Thursday. See you tonight, map cycle is below...
