Not a return - it’s definitely “New” and sold by Amazon themselves. The delivery date is a week away even with Prime so I would guess extra stock has become available and is being sold as quickly as it goes up.

The one I ordered last Friday is due to be delivered today so you shouldn't have to wait too long.

You'll have bought from a third party seller, in that case. Hope you didn't pay over the RRP.

I paid the normal amount as it is being supplied by Amazon themselves and not a third party, it just seems odd they have such a long delivery time. Hopefully it's just a glitch and it will get to me sometime in the next few days.

Has anyone who registered yesterday (as opposed to the people who expressed interest months ago) received an invite yet?

Nothing for me as of this morning, not that I keep on checking or anything.

Then just the first bit of what I said, a massive central heating system.

I thought last night's was shit. A third repeat viewing of all the previously seen stuff and then a bit at the end where the twist was so obvious from all the wires hanging everywhere that....well....whatever.

Even at the end, the dude is in cloud cuckoo land.

I couldn't quite understand why he could not live in it and there was no kitchen. Is it a condition of sale that it's brand new for the prospective buyer and they would choose their kitchen design?

All that pain and misery and all he will walk away with is a pile of cash. So pathetic.

I got a new Elite 2 Core off Amazon for £60 just last week. All the gubbins from my original Elite (which died within 3 months) fit, so that's kinda rad. 8bitDo Ultimate controller was £35 and has paddles. Lightweight and comfortable, wired by with a long cable. Attached to PC.

Eh, most premium controllers are generally a ripoff.  Scufs are eye wateringly expensive, having bought a few for a bud. He paid for them, of course.

Is this new one worth £210? Is it buggery, but some people will pay through the nose for the advantages it gives.

How did you get one for £60?

Really enjoyed Run a lot last night despite quite a few plot holes. Probably much closer to a thriller but definite horror elements and high tension.

Probably an interesting question - what elements would people say turn a thriller into a horror?

Good question, for me if it has a supernatural element then auto-horror. If it has gore it's probably horror but a film like a standard home invasion movie is not necessarily horror. Eden Lake is a good example of where there is no supernatural element but gore and a large amount of threat so I would say it's a horror.

To be obvious, if a film is horrifying, it's horror, but then a film like Schindler's List is horrifying and yet not horror.

    Damn, it's a tricky question.

Isn't Bull a thriller not horror?. I saw and skipped it because it wasn't horror, but if its good I might watch it regardless.

Yes but not...I cannot really elaborate without giving too much away but it definitely is a horror movie for me.

These are my favourite horror films of the last few years - the ones in bold are the best on the list. I'm sure there's loads I'm leaving off but you'll have a good (bad) time with any of these.

    Fresh - Amazon Prime
Orphan First Kill. I think I was in a small minority of people who liked this. But if you're in the mood it's great.
    Speak No Evil
    Bodies Bodies Bodies
Malignant. YMMV but I loved this. Pure nonsense but so well executed.
    The Night House
    Come To Daddy
    His House - Netflix

+1 for Bull, one of my favourite films of the last couple of years but then I'm a sucker for Neil Maskell.

  9. My local newsagent had the new issue on it's shelves yesterday but no sign of my sub. I'm waiting for a couple of mags that should have been here by now so I'm guessing the RM strike has made mags not a priority.

  10. Yes!

    October the 19th.

Loved the first two seasons, even though I was initially put off as it looked like a generic cash in on the war of the worlds idea, but during lockdown I binged it and have been waiting for the new season for what seems like ages.

One thing that sets it apart from most genre programs recently is that there is a minimal amount of plot armour and no character is safe.

I love Halloween, chuck full of horror movies  and TV series dropping:

    Mike Flanagan The Midnight Club*

    Halloween Ends

    My Best Friend’s Exorcism

    Terrifier 2

    Terrifier 2

    Wendell & Wild

Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities*

    *Must watch for me.

Whilst Smile looks interesting, after watching the trailer isn't it just The Ring?

Playing your consoles with the cupboard doors open sounds like madness.

Looking forward to a slimmer and quiter console.  I'll jump in as soon as it doesn't look so damn ugly. Size I'm not as fussed over.  Black or white box is fine by me.

If I don't open the cupboards where my PS5 and SX are living, the heat could supply a small village. That and the fans sound like a Jumbo taking off.

  13. Finished this last week and it really cemented how good the whole game is. It's the fourth time I've completed it since the original release but it's still a joy to play.

When I originally played the game the whole ending was uplifting and positive, we can argue does Ellie believe Joel or not but for me personally he did the right thing. Only now when we now know what transpires in the second game does the whole ending seem bitter sweet. I might have to wait a while until I replay the second game as it was so emotionally draining for me.

One thing I would like is a spin-off with Bill, I felt we only scratched the surface with his character and he's one of he most interesting people in the game for me.
