  1. I wonder if hot, slidey conditions caught many a bit off guard. I was not expecting to be quite this fast. I had blistering in rear tyres, probably everyone did, and I had maxed out brake ducts and high wing setup to reduce sliding. New tyres were over a second quicker for me so the fastest strategy was probably to start with fuel for 45 min and swap tyres with pressure adjustments. Dave had his fastest race laps in the 1:42s. You need to drop the sandbags earlier! 😉 Didnt you do a low 1:43 in practice, with fuel I presume? And you have shown hints of speed in previous races too, in quali and best race laptimes at least. Maybe you know what to do, but being in a race and cars around you distracts you a bit. I think you would benefit a lot from practicing just 30 min or so more before or day before race to build consistency.
  2. Is it only 8 of us in tonight's race? Sad. If someone is interested in watching a stream, I could test if I can stream without too great a performance loss. Also looks like its starting an hour earlier than usual. Must be daylight savings.
  3. They dont, but these events have tended to not have too many of them. Out of the currently signed up people fastest ones are about my pace.
  4. Here is an upcoming non-RCI endurance race. November 28 10 hours at Barcelona GT3 and GT4 Its arranged by Yellow Flag, which is mostly German. There is live stewarding, no aliens(fastest handful of drivers are approx my pace) and I'd say their races have been cleaner than RCI's. I might even do it solo if I cant get anyone to drive with me. Rllmuk drivers can join me(/us) or you guys could sign up a team or two of your own. 😉
  5. 1:41.8 and a 1.42.1. First faster lap is not particularly clean and has some missed apexes and me not using all of the track. The latter slower lap was over a tenth up until the final chicane, where I lost a lot of time. https://streamable.com/his5yw
  6. Which car would you like to have in a one make series? Personally I cant stand the Super Trofeo, its tyres turn into noodles in about 5 laps, regardless of track.
  7. They'll do it. Racing has been secondary to "The Spectacle" for a very long time now. They know the audience demands blood and drama, so they will arrange those artificially if needed. So we have and will have elimination qualifying, sprint, standing starts after red flags, stages and overtime.
  8. Its not from simracing this time. 😄 Driving felt good yesterday so its not that range of motion. I blame my shoes and weather. At least its now much better than week ago and I just tested that I can run on even ground without it hurting. Downhill and downstairs it hurts in ankle, knee and shin when extending right foot below left.
  9. You could go a bit higher still for front rideheight. Lets say 56 front. Try the endurance Misano dry setup, but go 2 mm higher both front and rear and lower wing 1 or 2 clicks, that will probably work pretty well for Imola and should be softer and safer over kerbs. Once you get more confident in the chicanes and arent afraid to touch kerbs you will find a lot more speed and consistency.
  10. No I dont think its a spur. Maybe being outdoors and moving, walking, hiking a lot with a new pair of shoes and boots past couple of weeks combined to something else. Regardless of what I do with the race itself I do intent to improve my time a little. 🙃
  11. Use a bit of throttle and try to have the wheel more or less centered when touching them. I dont know if I will be able to race yet. I managed to catch tendinosis/tennis elbow on an ankle, foot and knee, and it hasnt healed enough during the past week. I have no clue what I did to get it.
  12. The colder the better, as long as you can keep some temperature in tyres so depends a bit on car and track I think. I want to say around 10, maybe even lower?
  13. Quite a bit slower. I think more than a second, because Ive turned a 1:42.2 with the McLaren carrying race fuel in something like 21/25 temperatures.

  15. Both cars and their drivers are obviously very close to oneanother. In the end one or two small mistakes less by Lewis(he lost time sliding in exits) or a lapped car slowing one or the other a corner more or less and the result may have been different. 56 laps and drivers of different teams again cross the finish line within a second. Enjoy while it lasts because 6th race from now we may be back to one team dominating.

  17. @davejm server conditions dont seem to be static. First time when I joined it was 6 o clock or so and 28/28 degrees, and the second time it started where it should have at 2 pm, but there was slight change in track temperature over 2 hours.
  18. The RCI multiclass enduro tracks left are Misano, Bathurst and Monza. I was asking Dave if he was interested in case more drivers are needed.🙃 Besides those, theres also gt3 only 4 h Hungaroring on Nov 20, and after multiclass races starts a new slighly more serious 6-race enduro world tour which will have 12 and 24 h races. We will be there of course. There are of course also many other communities that arrange quality stewarded endurances, but 1 or 2 big races per month is what most seem to prefer over busier schedule.
  19. An idea from the Circuit Superstars thread. Could we have AC or ACC hotlap server, with car(s) and/or tracks changing every couple of weeks? I wonder if something like that would be interesting and have lower entry bar or be otherwise more accessible than these weekly races.
  20. I dont think they do really, except maybe for T1 and maybe the last bit of the very long right hander in Paul Ricard. On British tracks you need to have 2 tyres fully inside white lines. Everywhere else if you touch the black stuff inside white lines its valid, and sometimes you can go wider or cut more and be fully off the track(I'm thinking about Spa mostly) and the actual limit may be a cone or a kerb or another line that cant be touched. If you want practice company, ping me on discord next time you drive Misano or whatever we have coming up here. Even if I'm offline. 😉
  21. Yeah, you just throw the car into the first chicane and hope it sticks. Every lap its slightly different but somehow it works. Something that also works is touching only the first or the second kerb, and using some throttle when touching them to stabilize the car a bit. I used same setup as in Oulton Park, so my car was very soft and raised, though I feel I should have raised it by couple of mm more or used stiffer front wheelrates because it still bottomed out a lot on those red anti-cut kerbs as you could see in the video in my previous post. I was 8-9 tenths off the pace I know I can do in Bentley but game performance was pretty good, I only had a handful of freezes. Did anyone else have trouble seeing braking and turn in points in the dark? First laps in race 1 were the worst 😁

  23. Brake ducts and pads have by far the greatest effect. Then toe and camber. Everything else very minor. Sometimes you just cant get them within optimal temperature range.
  24. Is it properly grounded? The DD. Remember its not just for safety but also to make sure its in the same potential with everything else
  25. Yeah tbh I get tons of stuttering and screen freezes in Zolder so running no practice may be the least frustrating way to do a Zolder race week 😁
