  1. I started Dodgeball Academia after reading a few people on here say it's great. The combat is great fun, but the inability to grind levels kinda killed it for me.
  2. We still do have the import issue, but on a much smaller scale now, and it’s generally with much more niche releases. There’s been a few shooters recently I’ve imported only to find out a PAL release would come months later. We’ll never see it on AAA titles anymore though you’re right.
  3. Crows: Burning Edge on PS4. Despite the fact it’s entirely in Japanese and I can read literally three words of Japanese and don’t understand all that much more listening to it I’m just about keeping up with the storyline through some reading about the Manga series (fortunately I can pick out names from spoken Japanese and I love the Crows Zero movies so understand about the different factions). The game plays a bit like a second rate Yakuza title, but without all of the extras and the combat is a bit worse. The bulk of the game is beating up groups of thugs although there’s a few other missions like chasing some kid down and protecting people from enemies for timed periods. There’s 5 characters to play but I’ve only played some of Bouya’s missions so far. Despite its shortcomings I’m actually quite enjoying it. I’m not sure if I’ll get all the way through the game because I think it’s going to be about 20 hours of just doing the same thing. Either way it didn’t cost a great deal so I’m happy.

Got myself some new shmups to be getting on with. Despite Espgaluda being quite pricey and already owning the arcade PCB I decided to pick it up so when I sell my arcade stuff I don't need to go on a big rush to hunt down all of the games I'll be missing. Also got Hokuto no Ken, KoF XI, 3rd Strike and Guilty Gear Isuka on PS2 for the same reason, fortunately other than HnK the others cost buttons.
  5. I mostly play shooters and fighting games for the same reason. If you don't want those genre's then Hades is quick to get into and can be played in short bursts.
  6. You've still missed the point of my post. You've made out like I'm trying to excuse him when what I'm actually trying to say is that the last paragraph is in a hugely different tone to the rest of it. It goes from "he's the workplace bully and is a fucking asshole" to something a whole lot more sinister. The way I read that last paragraph is that it's either still happening, or worse, some of his hires he hired just so he could treat them extremely badly. My point was what is the actual scenario here? I don't think he can be forced out in scenario 1, even if he should leave of his own will. If it's scenario 2 then he needs raking over the coals, not just putting in a position where he can't be nasty anymore.
  7. You've haven't answered the question though so I'm still none the wiser. Is that it then, is he cancelled? Should he hand over the keys and just disappear into the ether? Can he not seek redemption on this? Can he not take a back seat in the company he founded and continue to work without having to manage anyone (which it seems he's clearly incapable of doing)?
  8. That last paragraph kind of changes the feel of the article to me. It sounds initially like he's a creative who it turns out isn't capable of managing people, in particular women. This happens, and it's nasty, but not too uncommon unfortunately. That last paragraph makes out like he's more than just a bully and perhaps takes some sort of sick pleasure from bullying women. "He shouldn't be allowed to keep getting away with this." Getting away with what? Is that he's still bullying people from a distance or get away with working for the company he founded? Also the usage of "preyed upon" makes this sound a whole lot more sinister. Is he a bullying asshole or is there something more going on here? I have no skin in this game, I've never played any of the games produced by this studio and they don't look like they really appeal to me, it's just unclear what the staff are looking for as a resolution to me. If they want him out of the company, is there even a company left at that point?
  9. Nice one @strider I'll give that a read later then maybe try and come up with my own top 25.

Ah so you have to hit the castle. I’ll give it a whirl tomorrow. I must have just taken a hit over it the times I’ve let the little bastards fly free. Thanks guys.

Did a one life run on Super Easy after it and noticed that if you double up your homing ability then bomb pick ups become worth 1000 instead of 1000, so that’s a few points. No idea how to proc the flamingo’s either, have done it before, but dunno how

Just managed to 1CC Garegga Premium mode with a comically low score. I have no idea how to score on there I always used to just play regular Garegga for survival and scoring isn't a good thing for that!
  13. One of the few that I remember buying after playing a demo. The only one I can think of where the demo specifically sold it to me.

Ibara Kuro we need as well, never been ported as far as I know. Maybe Futari BL Another Version mode as well.

I wish they’d redo Espgaluda 1 as well.

Cheers @Spoonman, I’ll see if the reduced lag makes any difference, not convinced it will with my SDOJ (lack of) skills. Also, don’t let people grind you down. It’s been a tough time, but don’t give up on the internet. I just visit forums and parts of forums that I enjoy and it works for me. Keep on shmupping.

Speaking of the Xbox 360 ports I set up an NTSC-J 360 today and had a blast on Deathsmiles, Deathsmiles IIX and DDP SDOJ 360 mode. I’d never noticed (because I always played Shot) that choosing Laser mode on SDOJ made the game about 4 fucking times harder. I thought I’d try Laser because I kept messing up on Hibachi and thought I could see her off faster. Tried playing Laser and couldn’t even get to stage 5
  18. Sorry, wasn't accusing anyone here of trying to defend it, it was that fucking creep that works/worked there trying to bullshit everyone on Twitter about it.
  19. The whole hotel room 'name' is almost irrelevant with the level of allegations here. It's a strange one to try and defend when there's a mountain of other shit involved. I mean there's fucking creepy messages supporting how creepy these bastards are.
  20. It wasn’t the release that soured it for me, it was the nearly 9 years of waiting after I paid for it. But yeah, the release was also bungled, and now they charge hundreds per copy it’s all a bit silly.
  21. Nice, I’ll install MoTW I think, always good for a quick blast.
  22. I started Necromunda: Hired Gun on Series X. As a fan of the license it's a nice bit of fan service, but the Xbox version is broken pretty badly. It crashes during or after almost every mission and glitches like fuck. I wouldn't recommend the Xbox version until it's patched.
  23. Typical, should have bought the PlayStation version Edit, just seen it’s September for the Xbox patch. For fucks sake.
  24. Got this on Series X. It’s so much fun, but the Series X version at least is pretty broken. Dozens of crashes to the Xbox menu, enemies getting trapped in floors, Defend missions being unfinishable because not all the enemies spawn etc.

Has anyone else had issues with Deathtiny mode where after a couple of game overs, I start a new game and cannot enter DD mode at all? It's driving me fucking nuts. No matter what I do, how long I hold bomb, when in the game I first press it, it just will not activate. Turn off the PS4 and start again and it works just fine for the first couple of games. Edit: Nevermind, think I've worked it out!
