  1. Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles - not because this version of Rondo of Blood is good, because it isn't. But for the price of one game you also get a full PSP specific version of the classic Symphony of Night thrown in which you can unlock after about 30 minutes. And it's the Saturn version of SOTN to boot. And then continue on a little bit more & you get the original Rondo of Blood which is still great to this day (see here for how to do it; http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/castlevania-the-dracula-x-chronicles-review) Worth the £7.99 price of admittance imo.
  2. For starters, hagiography does not describe Selma accurately at all imo. Secondly, we seem to have very different ideas about Hollywood's self-aggrandisement of it's limitations. But I digress, as I said this is a very good film &, in any other year, I'd agree a worthy winner.
  3. It's one of those very divisive films. I enjoyed it, moreso than I expected to. The cinematography was just brilliant (some extraordinary long shots which worked amazingly), the script was interesting (especially given the trend of blockbuster stars re-treading the boards in recent years to recapture relevance) & the performances were great (not that you could ever get a truly bad performance from ANY of the actors cast). Best overall cinematic experience of 2015 so far? Probably as close as dammit. However, there is no way this should have won the Oscar over something like Selma, Theory of Everything or Imitation Game, which were equally as outstanding but with more relevance to the people & world at large. It was Hollywood being self-aggrandising of itself & it's limitations which really just added to the farcical nature of this years awards.
  4. Had my first little blast on this today & I like it. The handling is very PGR4 like, which is not a bad thing at all. The tracks I've played on are nicely done & the weather/light effects are pretty good & the sound is phenomenal. Looks like Rushy's team made good eventually but games like this, BF & AC are poster boys for why games should be rigorously checked top to bottom before rushing them out. If I could say one little thing of the current product from a noobs point of view is that the DLC related stuff should have a little letter symbol indicating which pack they belong to so that you don't waste time clicking on it & then waiting for the PS store to load up.
  5. The cast is this is quite something for such a low profile action film. Nice to see a lot of crossover actors from the Matrix (those Agent Johnsons from Reloaded got TWO asskickings from Neo ) & different Marvel franchises, old & new alike. As for the film, the story is functional at best but the fight scenes were brutally intense & reminds that Keanu can do decent action films with the best of them. I'd love to see a sequel & hopefully, as it did modestly well ($70M take on a $20M budget), they might do one.
  6. If they did that now in the Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition engine it'd be great.
  7. The penultimate episode was so much stronger that the finale could never be as good as it.
  8. ODST is all about the 4 player firefight coop of the Firefly cast & Nathan Drake smashing things with Gravity Hammers so this is a very welcome freebie.
  9. Another great year for stuff that I like. I'm thinking that the end of year full list will be a revelation though as there are already things I'm intrigued by that I reckon I'll be procuring soon enough. Anyway my top ten for the year is; 01 - Killer Be Killed - Killer Be Killed 02 - Slipknot - Vol.5 The Gray Chapter 03 - Electric Youth - Innerworld 04 - King 810 - Memoirs of a Murderer 05 - Royal Blood - Royal Blood 06 - Marmozets - The Weird & Wonderful Marmozets 07 - †††(Crosses) - †††(Crosses) 08 - Lana Del Rey - Ultraviolence 09 - Mastodon - Once More 'Round The Sun 10 - Opeth - Pale Communion (Dis)Honourable Mentions for 2014; Aloe Blacc - Lift Your Spirit Black Keys - Turn Blue Blackstone Cherry - Magic Mountain California Breed - California Breed Cavalera Conspiracy - Pandemonium Damon Albarn - Everyday Robots Deadmaus - While (1<2) Devil You Know - The Beauty of Destruction Down - IV Purple E.P Pt.2 Ed Sheeran - X Foo Fighters - Sonic Highways Godsmack - 1000HP Hellyeah - Blood for Blood Kasabian - 48:13 Linkin Park - The Hunting Party Pharrell - GIRL Red Dragon Cartel - Red Dragon Cartel Rival Sons - Great Western Valkyrie Rodrigo Y Gabriela - 9 Dead Alive Sam Smith - In The Lonely Hour Skid Row - United World Rebellion Pt.2 Rise of the Damnation Army Slash ft. 10. This weeks episode is brilliant. DOUG JUDY! THE PONTIAC BANDIT & JAKE PERALTA BACK TOGETHER AGAIN!
  11. Sorry I missed this. I got sidetracked doing some work. I really wanted some proper advanced warfare
  12. Nooooooo! Ahem ... I'll likely be up for this too! Was great fun last week (getting shot, schpanged & splotched ) by y'all.
  13. Yeah, I gather LOS 2 is not the best of games but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt for the price. That's what the Steam sales about, right? Redemption through cut pricing!
  14. Sales been good for me so far. I ended up getting Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 plus DLC for £11.03p from Steam & I ended up getting Evil Within (which I wasn't even interested last night ) plus Castlevania Mirror of Fate HD from GreenmanGaming for £12.69 thanks to some credit I'd accrued. Means I can finally play the Mercury Steam LOS story from start to current finish on my PC! And then try another game I know very little about other than it's by Mikami! Lovely
  15. The Necromancer is only ever confirmed as being Sauron retrospectively in the LOTR appendices. It's never any other character.
  16. That was great stuff tonight, thanks guys.
  17. Just to say I got my Zavvi 3D steelbook through on Friday. Finally watched the film & I'd go as far to say it's 3D reference material, the colours & FX make for a glorious disc. The picture switching between 1.78:1 matte-less & 2.40:1 normal framing scene to scene is little bizarre at first as it's so frequent. After a bit you don't notice it although I do wonder why they didn't just shoot it in 1.78:1 throughout like Whedon did with the Avengers, it makes for a better viewing experience for both 2D & 3D imo.
  18. There were issues with voice parties all day yesterday, probably due to BF4 DLC, GTA5 patches, Far Cry 4 Uplay connectivity issues & AC:Unity too. Sorry I missed it. I'm not going to lie I was playing GTAONLINE with Moosegrinder until 10:30. Then was so knackered that I went to bed. Apologies. I'd like to make Tuesday's at 10 in future as I have Wednesday off so if there is a regular crew hit me up.
  19. Okie dokes, I may very well be on for this, if I'm still awake (been a couple of long days with little sleep ... on top of a couple of similar weeks).
  20. What time, Wah?
  21. While I'd be disappointed if I'd bought an XBone specifically for this, there are at least 5 other games which I'll be playing until this is fixed. Titanfall, Sunset Overdrive & Forza Horizon 2 being 3 exclusives with multiplayer modes which work on this huge brick of a console. Coupled with Battlefield 4, Halo-alike Destiny & GTA5 tomorrow ...well, let's just say IMO buyers remorse should merely be a fleeting feeling.
  22. [fanboy]Jesus, he undid the whole video with a stupid mistake at 6:35. N64 didn't have a C-stick you idiot, it had C-buttons. The Gamecube had the C-stick. What a douche![/fanboy]
  23. Don't get me wrong, the single player campaigns are ready to play & I have done. But the multiplayer was what I was most interested in having a swing at tonight & it's that portion that I'm not able to access until this extra 15gb patch downloads, despite already having downloaded 59gb days ago according to my HDD & the bandwidth counter. Oh great, it's now it's slowed to a crawl of 74kbps as the standby updates start up to get this down. Great stuff 404 Industries!
  24. It's ready to start the single player from about 20% onwards. But it's still downloading or unpacking the multiplayer element now at 91% & bandwidth usage says it's downloaded 11gb in the last hour. So despite the preload footprint of 59gb, it didn't actually preload the day one patch. Cracking.
  25. It seems that the update had downloaded & is (very) slowly unpacking. Nobody ever say to me that the XBone UI is more intuitive than the PS4. They're both terrible, regressive pieces of shit.
