  1. So I've watched video and I agree with those saying it looks like dog turd. It really does. I could not believe the pop in of the clouds in the distant mountains whilst going up the elevator. It's poor and I can't believe that Microsoft let that go out. As a PS5 owner this gen, but a previous 360 owner, I've missed the likes of Halo, Gears and Forza this gen. With the appeal of GamePass I was open minded about getting an Xbox Series X instead of a PS5 and I was sort of hoping that this 'conference' could lead me to have a decision to make. Pfft what a let down it was. Almost no gameplay shown and your flagship game looking embarrassing. Whilst I do totally get the value of Game Pass, that's going to mean diddly squat to me, no matter how many games it makes available, if deep down I know that the 'best' ones are on another console.
  2. if I remember right from new game plus, you don’t start with the weapons, you just start with the upgrades that you have for them. So that when you pick up the flame thrower for the first time halfway through the game or whatever it is, it remembers that you had increased its capabilities.
  3. If some of us are excited, then surely some of us can be unexcited. No?
  4. Normally I wouldn’t be too bothered for the reasons described by posters above. Plus I’ve still got games from this gen I want to play. But my ps4 makes the noise of a jet engine and my disc drive broke 4 weeks ago. So bring it on.
  5. Does anybody here subscribe? I’ve become a regular listener to the beastcast and they’ve been advertising the premium as being on sale ending this week. Given the content I’m already getting for free, and the current situation, I’m keen to support. However, there needs to be some content on there I’m interested in for me to make the jump.
  6. As somebody who really enjoyed Alan Wake, I’m disappointed in what I’ve played of Control. I don’t normally abandon games but this I’m going to have to. I don’t know if it’s partly due to being in lockdown and being stuck inside the majority of the day, but the environments in this game just has me wanting more. It’s so grey, it’s so dull, it’s so samey. Other criticisms are the poor checkpoint system, the crappy map and layout, the constant feeling of what the hell is going in (sometimes I don’t mind that and I know it’s because I’m not reading the collectibles but this game doesn’t make me want to) and a frequent slowdown on the ps4 hardware. I also couldn’t figure out the upgrading weapons system properly. I did like the mechanics and satisfaction of grabbing and throwing items. I’m just glad I got this in PSNow. A couple of times in the past, I was tempted to buy it but I’m glad I never. I guess this is just one I’m against the grain with but I feel all the better for giving up on it.
  7. my thoughts - a) some good ideas for games there b) expected faces to look better - saw nothing that I haven’t seen on current gen c) gameplay. Where was it? That’s what has frustrated me. Basically a lie.
  8. So where exactly is the gameplay?
  9. I’m in the same boat. My GF has had a little dabble and would have been for her to visit her niece’s island but this silly set up prevents it.
  10. My disk drive in the ps4 has conked out so I’m going to look into getting this. What is the likelihood of days gone coming on to it? I’ve thought about getting it whilst it’s on offer but won’t get round to play it until after a few other games. I might wait though as I have a feeling it’ll go PSNow soon?
  11. Yep just sat down to play in ps4. Another update. Pfft.
  12. Really wish it was MP. That’s where my memories of this game are at.
  13. Just joining the party on this. Is there a beginners guide / advice page anywhere?
  14. I don’t really have a backlog in the sense that many here do. I don’t purchase games unless I know I’ll get to play them in that given month. Usually if I know I won’t get to a game in the near future I just buy it months later and by that time it’s usually cheaper anyway. What I do have is a tonne of games that I know I want to play. Many of them are ps4 games that I’m interested in but haven’t played because life this generation has meant I don’t play as much as I used to. I’ve coined 2020 as the year of gaming for myself though. I will play any Switch games that take my fancy but the main focus is to get through as many PS4 titles that I’m interested in with the reward of a PS5 at the end of it. Hopefully! So God of War, The Shenmues, Death Stranding, Control, Days Gone et al. I’m looking forward to a good year. This includes Uncharted 4 which I’m replaying and I’ll probably give Spiderman and TLOU another bash too. Other than TLOU2 I have no other dead cert new release purchases this year. Cyberpunk and maybe Watch Dogs if they’re next gen I’ll wait for. And then of course there’s the Witcher 3 which I’m plodding along with on Switch. 20hrs in but I always knew that’s a game that would take me all year.
  15. wtf So yeh.. Goose game. I got stuck for ages in the pub with break the dart board and drop the bucket on the angry man’s head and then a little quiet year 7 girl in work (school) told me what to do. I went home that night and her plan worked. I was chuffed. She came to me at the end of the week asking how I got on and I then told her what I did to finish the game and found the rest really easy. Her face dropped, she looked gutted, and said she’s been stuck in that bit for hours.
