  1. Came into this thread expecting someone to have mentioned Soulcalibur on the Dreamcast already, but no. That game looked stunning to me for years afterwards.
  2. Mario Tennis Aces had me in one image, really:
  3. (Occasional poster weighs in) I actually didn't vote because I couldn't decide. I think Galaxy is my favourite, but I haven't played all the options so don't feel qualified to judge. Like other posters, I love the intricate mechanical bits of platforming in Mario games best. The Beat-Block Galaxy in Galaxy 2, for instance. It just feels so *cool*.
  4. I'm also Team Split Joycons. Largely because I'm cheap, and haven't splashed out on anything else, but they really work for me. I haven't even got the grip out of the packet. The only issue I've had is with the Zelda shrines that require motion control, which feel very finicky to me. But I think that's a motion control issue rather than a Joy Con issue. I'm having proper kid-at-Christmas feelings about Odyssey now. The question is: can I resist watching any more videos?
  5. The music I have been listening to the soundtrack as my go-to relaxed work playlist all the time since finishing this six months ago.
  6. Was convinced it was an awful mess that controlled horribly for the first twenty minutes...then it clicked. As @kiroquai said, can imagine it being a huge amount of fun when you're halfway decent. The overall presentation is utterly .
  7. Another vote for the clumsy Horizon Zero Dawn. But I agree with @K – I'm sure I heard somewhere they originally wanted to call it Horizon. I generally hate everything that comes after a colon in a game name. Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes (and 'Ground Zeroes' is just terrible generally). I mind it less with things like Zelda, where the main franchise name seems almost irrelevant – I just think of it as Breath of the Wild.
  8. New forumite here, just popping into this thread to say every time I see it, I'm disappointed the title isn't "Is Game over?"
  9. Not sure if it had come up in previous trailers, but the volleyball bit suggests a variety of play modes I hadn't expected. Cool!
  10. I do have Destiny, but I'm comically hopeless at FPSes. I'll probably give Splatoon 2 a go.
  11. Thanks! I have already raced with a few, and added a bunch of people from the thread. A warm welcome!
  12. Got up early to add a bunch of Friend Codes from the spreadsheet. Not but really. One of the things that's impressing me most about this is that it's the first Mario Kart I've played where single player is actually really good fun in its own right.
  13. No one will be more surprised than me. Well I've already left home without it, sadly. Also, I'm visiting a family with a five-year-old and I'm not sure I could bear him touching it. Or licking it, or whatever the kids are doing.
