  1. Good ol' Warhammer Online - ingame, I've been listening to this for years. Almost non-stop
  2. Another double submission, a comparison between these two MMORPGs. Camelot Unchained should enter beta in early 2017, Crowfall - likely in late 2017:
  3. Two recent player building demos: Camelot Unchained (aka "Dark Age of Camelot 2" by Mark Jacobs), 100% free form building - https://ello.co/jamesgoblin/post/lwcc9qkee_5xilkhpqhjma (First images are taken from the video below by Necromaniak, one of players in aplha tests). Crowfall (aka "EVE Online meets Game of Thrones"), procedural world building - https://ello.co/jamesgoblin/post/e6yhwdv6_xbjtdqnff1tma PS off-topic (non-building), Crowfall death mechanics in a short comic, possible sex/race change - http://imgur.com/a/jbuKL
  4. Below is couple more ideas, but I'm actually not suggesting any of these - I'm not even reading their news, thus I refrain from direct recommendations. "Problem" being that my current interests in gaming are quite narrow (sandbox PvP MMORPGs, make it medieval fantasy) thus my sources are elsewhere. Anyway, you might be able to find something, or someone else can use it to comment and recommend: Gamers With Jobs (lovely title, BTW) - https://www.gamerswithjobs.com/ Dual Shockers - http://www.dualshockers.com/ Kotaku - http://kotaku.com/ The Escapist - http://www.escapistmagazine.com/ Polygon - http://www.polygon.com/ Game Trailers - http://www.gametrailers.com/ Ten Ton Hammer - http://www.tentonhammer.com/ Gamezone - http://www.gamezone.com/ Gameplanet - http://www.gameplanet.com.au/
  5. To my shame, I just discovered that Tim made Grim fandango o,O PS based on reactions elsewhere, I expected to see much more of "he'll never see my money again!". A pleasant surprise.

    Undertale

Somehow, I wasn't aware of this gem until couple days ago. I remember seeing images and articles earlier - I guess it looked too childish at first glance!?
  7. Last one - Warhammer Online, it was shut down in December 2013. Till death do us part...<3
  8. All kinds of PvP moments in MMORPGs I play often make me laugh (or, sometimes, break a keyboard or two against the wall).
  9. The Darkest Dungeon and Pathologic 2 will launch. Camelot Unchained and Crowfall will not. Camelot Unchained will win Massively OP's yearly "The Longest Newsletter", again.
  10. The unofficial promise and the actual aim is 1k+ (instead of current 600+ players). Take couple minutes to let that sink in =) I mean, will we even need these numbers? I'm more worried about polish and makeup, Beta 1 starts in couple months ("Q1 2016", and knowing CSE it will likely be the end of March) and that's when NDA is supposed to drop, which means lots of streams and YouTube previews.
  11. Hmm...Interesting comment, thou somewhat hermetic. Meantime, CU just won the most prestigious of all Massively OP's end-of-the-year awards - the one for "Longest MMO Newsletter".
  12. A little intro before rotten tomatoes start flying (as they did on Youtube and reddits): this below is alpha test footage, with pre-alpha low poly/texture models, animations (including even walking) are placeholders etc. - this is NOT the game. What the video below is showing are some alpha biomes with dev comments (first half) and 600+ players/bots fighting in a very small area, with high framerate, quite big rendering distance, hundreds of trees/bushes fully rendered etc. - at that point basically any other engine would crash and burn long time ago. PS For what it's worth, there is quite lively discussion on MMORPG reddit (and couple other places) about that video upthere, including some programmers on both sides of the fence.
  13. This is kinda on-topic, reviews (less than flattering thou) of Devilian by MMORPG.com: ...aaand by Rock, paper,Shotgun - "Devilian Is Like An Afternoon Nap In Gaming Form".
  14. Single player stuff: The Darkest Dungeon - I doubt this claustroparanoic psychopatolodrama needs much introduction. Pathologic 2 (or whatever the name of sequel will be) - the original from 2006 had lovely but spooky atmosphere, I hope they'll catch some more of that magic. Psychonauts 2 (I know it's not 2016, but stil - psycho love is strong ) MMOs: Camelot Unchained aka DAoC 2, thou 2017 launch seems more likely to me. Same goes for Crowfall. Revival - victorian/medieval dark fantasy; I like the atmosphere, art style & concepts (vine making profession or, say, ingame sex for better stats, anyone?), still veeery early in development. The artwork looks dark and lovely indeed, thou frankly I'm afraid they don't have funds to even just launch it. Albion Online, I might be playing it casually (say, from my cell phone), thou you never know... Chronicles of Elyria - some interesting concepts, say aging, dying and reincarnation through bloodlines. Pantheon, Rise of the Fallen - more PvEey than those above; I like the visuals & races, I hope I'll like the gameplay. Shroud of the Avatar will also be more PvE, with single player, coop or "MMO" (?) modes. Worlds Adrift looks lovely, the colors, the skies...still in very early development. Gloria Victis caught my attention recently, and it's similar to Life is Feudal, medieval sandbox PvP stuff... by now, you can guess my taste =) Shards Online is another "light snack" I might play casually, not exactly on top of my list thou.
  15. Zero. I played a quick game of chess with a guy that came to repair my computer, couple months ago.
  16. Another (quite) fancy update: For fans, here is the extended version:
  17. I'm interested in graphics from somewhat uncommon (here, certainly) PoW - in PvP MMORPGs with hundreds of players on screen, even the most optimised engines (that is, with graphics dynamically scaled back to previous century) will struggle not to crush the server. I wonder whether I will live to see graphical ceiling being hit in such circumstances, having maybe 40 or 50 years left. I'm optimistic thou.
  18. Good part of my coleagues are also gamers and/or programmers and/or in their 20s, and even my boss has 5 kids (10 to 21 YO) kinda hooked on computers and internet (I believe term "hooked" is already dated, say - are we hooked on electricity?) so I never had a slightest problem speaking openly about games. Furthermore, it's often me being the "uneducated" one about this or that new thing.
  19. To my slight surprise, looks like it didn't sell particularly well.
  20. Psycho love is too strong to resist...<3
  21. Hello. I enjoy comics, chess, PvP MMORPGs and aimless walking.
