I just walked to the water cooler and had a pang of worry that someone might be camo'ed in the corner. Is that bad? I think I glanced down left to try to see my radar... (Team Doubles is amazing).

I've not followed this thread for fear of spoilers (not even loaded Campaign yet), but I'm loving the multiplayer. It is just a shame I've got a busy job and a small baby. 10 years ago I'd be caning it all night, every night.
-
I'd be up for that. A regular custom night would be awesome.
-
It is nice seeing pre-release videos of people who can play the game.
-
Yeah, K got corrected later in the thread. It adds to the LOL. Why are you still posting about a game you aren't going to play? Make like bcass and quit.
-
My favourite bit of BcassLOL. (was a K nugget of gold that one)

Anyone play Arena 9? I'm 9th in the online EXP score table. Great matchmaking system, makes lunch times fly by.

Both the games could be good. It will be interesting to see what Capcom and Namco do with a licence to play around with their games. The Tekken lot, in particular, must be slightly bored given how little the game has moved on since Tekken 3 (Tekken 4's changes being anomalous). I like Tekken, but 5, 5DR, 6 and 6BR are quite similar games to the non-expert player. This is a chance to mess with the game/engine and introduce lots of other elements. Likewise, the Capcom trailer looks like it has an expanded juggle engine (to make it a bit more Tekkeny I guess). SF4 with wall juggles could be fun.

This is looking so good. Forge 2.0 looks amazing, and Firefight Vs mode could be great too. It all looks great.

Thanks, I'll look out for that. I also just read about another called Urban Rivals. They all seem to involve buying or gaining new cards through play. Now I understand why, but I'm not a fan of multiplayer games where the person who has played the most has all the best stuff. I much prefer games where the two players start off with equal tools, and the winner is the one that used the tools in a better way. Anyway, does anyone want to program such a game for me? Ideally I'd like something like this: http://www.y3.com/games/13294/Kombat-Fighters (picked because it was the first flash game is this ilk that Google found me) Ignore the rip off sprites and dodgy effects, and there is the heart of a good game there. That's what I want for my iPhone.

To answer my own question, I gave Arena 9 a download. Good presentation and very quick to find an online opponent, with each "fight" lasting 3 or so minutes. I would be absolutely wonderful if it didn't have expandable decks. You can buy extra desks to make decks with using ingame money or real money. The dumb thing is that the better cards are just better in every way. I've played 20 or so onlne games and lost some just because the other guy has much better cards. I hate that. So, any other card fighting games, preferably ones that don't use the CCG mechanic?

I want a card fighters type game for my iPhone. Any suggestions?

I think it will be a firefight/single player only perk. Though we'll see I guess. That firefight gameplay looked awesome. Want.

Stop making excuses for a terrible bit of sound design.
-
I'd turn off the pointless thumping/popping sound it makes when there is no motion. The "ping ping" when there is motion is cool.
-
I started playing this last night, and turned it off after 20 minutes. I selected Marines, but the idle "thud thud thud" sound the motion tracker made was too annoying. I wear 5.1 headphones and the loud pounding in my ear was unbearable. It might be fine on a TV, but with my headphones it is awful. The sound when an enemy is nearby is atmospheric. The sound when no enemy is around is painfully annoying. Whoever decided that there shouldn't be an option to turn that sound off if a fucking idiot.

Your speaking in a code that I don't quite understand, but I'll have a look. Thanks.

Anyone know where I can get hold of the complete series of Zenith? I read about half of it in the original comics, but never finished it. The books are out of print, but is it available to DL anywhere?

It was something like that. But Bcass said that Bungie put the quit option in Halo 3 so it must be ok. Anyway, what do you make of the Reach needler bcass?
-
Yes, you have 365 kills, 322 deaths in Arena, which is a k/d of 1.13. (breakdowns of all stats by gametype are shown on bungie.net)
-
No shields, no radar, dmr + pistol start, no grenades, no different loadouts. It is all about the headshots. In Halo 2, 3 it was the same, with BR start.

Oddball is a brilliant team game. It is shit FFA, and if your team has no idea what they are doing. But proper 4v4 oddball is awesome.

It is not secret that Bungie wanted to be free of MS and xbox exclusivity - after all, Bungie want sales and being 360 only means fewer sales than multiplatform. Activision won;t own Bungie, they'll just publish (much as MS are doing with Reach). Activision are just about the biggest multiplatform publisher, so it isn't that strange that Bungie would want to do a deal with them.

I've a taste for MW2 and its 60fps buttery smoothness, but there is so much less going on than in a Halo game. As much as I'd love Halo to be 60fps, it just isn't possible. Reach will be 30fps, but it will be a rock solid 30fps.
