  1. No need to be offensive Egham, remember insults are not allowed on rllmuk. I remember one of the first times I read the Edge forum you were arguing with someone about Microsoft and that was *before* they'd even announced they were going to release a console. I'm sorry I said they haven't developed any good games as they obviously hold a special place in your heart.
  2. No, if you read the whole thread and look at who I was replying to I never said that Microsoft didn't 100% own Bungie (or Rare) or that Nintendo did own Rare 100%. I knew all that. I still don't agree that the games are developed by Microsoft *in anything but the legal sense*. I don't agree tha MS developed Kameo or Perfect Dark Zero either. I also don't agree that Sony developed Gran Turismo (I believe they own Polyphony 100% but I admit I'm not so sure there). You believe that MS have made the best FPSs ever; I believe that Bungie have.
  3. Hi, I suggest you read what I actually wrote. KThanxBye.
  4. Yes, I meant to say we're arguing semantics not just layte (and obviously in response to my point). It's pointless though, neither of us is going to change our opinion. I believe that there is a difference between say EAD and Retro Studios; layte doesn't because semantically there isn't (if that makes sense). I don't have the point that Bungie wasn't wholly owned by Microsoft by the way.
  5. I'm not sure if you read it correctly but let's say it one last time: I *completely* understand that legally Bungie were 100% owned by MS for part of the time they created Halo: CE and all of the time they created Halo 2 and 3. I still don't count those games as developed by MS though in anything but the legal sense. You're just arguing semantics.
  6. You do understand that everyone here knows exactly what happened, yes? You will consider Halo 1,2 and 3 as developed by Microsoft and Halo 4 as developed by Bungie, whereas I will consider them all developed by Bungie. Just like I don't consider Rare's N64 games to be developed by Nintendo.
  7. There's no real point you or Venice Cull arguing this because we're clearly not going to agree. I don't consider buying a fully formed company as the parent company making those games. Let's just agree to disagree.
  8. Didn't they just buy the development company again after they decided to publish Age of Empires? Obviously Microsoft have published some of the best games of the last 2 generations; not sure what they've actually developed.
  9. Although, ironically for the biggest software company in the world, Microsoft have yet to make a decent game.
  10. The problem is, of course, that clearly some people have different tastes and people who love the 360 sometimes find that hard to believe. The Wii has more than enough games for me (although I have 2 360s as well) at the moment; Wii Sports, Mario, Metroid and Zelda for me are better than anything on the 360.
  11. Personally I felt like he'd reviewed a video of it on the internet. It tells me nothing at all about how the game actually plays. Surely if the guy is so 'hardcore' he should be comparing it to Konami's Track and Field, Sega's Decathelete, or even Daley Thompson's Decathlon; all genius 'casual' games adored by the 'hardcore'.
  12. Here, http://www.gamepro.com/nintendo/wii/games/...ws/145628.shtml Possibly the worst review of a game that I've ever read.
  13. He doesn't say 3rd party games, he says 3rd parties; a subtle difference but an important one. Out of interest I had a look at the games published by Nintendo on Wii so far I'm guessing that most of those will be million sellers.
  14. I still think the comparison between 360 and Wii software sales is misleading. 360 games sell better than Wii games because, so far, the 360 has the multi-million dollar big budget AAA titles and the Wii has the skanky reheated PS2 ports. At the moment there are precisely 0 big-budget 3rd party games on the Wii.
  15. Does anywhere sell these in the UK? I'm currently running SNES games through the WiiKey config disc but I'd rather launch them from the SD card.
  16. Or, and I know some people might find this hard to understand, it has lots of games that appeal to the people that buy the console.
  17. And he then goes on to say Let's look at those ratios, Wii/PS3 - 2.34 PS3/360 - 2.52 I honestly can't believe that some people see this as unbiased reporting.
  18. Not bollocks really, just that we disagree. I think Wii games get marked down for not pushing the bar technically, you obviously don't. If SMG played exactly the same but had PS3 quality graphics, or if it had some form of multiplayer online mode and a 'proper' co-op mode, it would be more likely to score higher. I'm not really sure how you can dispute that.
  19. It's not just that. It's the fact that reviewers give higher marks to games that raise the bar for things like graphics and sound. I don't think a Wii game will ever score full marks. Another reason is that reviewers tend to mark down single player games (the co-op in Mario doesn't really count). On the GamerTV review of Ratchet and Clank the other day they said they would mark down every game that didn't have online play, multiplayer and co-op.
  20. Apollo

    Xbox 3

I want them not to kill the 360 off early like they did with the original Xbox.
  21. I'm not sure what is wrong with Nintendo at the moment with intros but I found it to be really bad; confusing camera angles which meant I wasn't sure where to go, annoying NPCs that sometimes you have to press A to talk to and sometimes just speak out. Luckily it only lasts a couple of minutes but I much prefer the intro to SM64.
  22. How does that in any way explain what he means?
  23. Why does it matter that Wii Play is old? That's the whole point of why the Wii is doing so well. I listed the good (not even great) games that have sold well. You're only point seems to be that bad games don't sell very well. Show me a good game which hasn't sold well.
  24. I'm not sure what you're actually saying. Wii Sports has obviously sold loads, Wii play has sold over 6 million copies, Mario Party 8 has sold over 2.5 million. Are you discounting these games then from your list? Others 'casual' games include Wario Ware which has sold just under 2 million, Big Brain Academy with just under 1 million, and Rayman with just over 1 million. Which titles are you refering to that should sell millions but don't?
