  2. While I agree that Halo has the best system overall, I quite like quicksaves. Back in the days of Half-life I built up a load of save points of all 'the good bits', which I could play anytime without traipsing through the less good bits. It was also good if you were playing with somone else, because you could take turns attempting to do a room or area perfectly. Perhaps they could allow more flexible saves as an unlockable, for when you've finished the game.
  3. Two points: Animation & physics This is really important too for realism and must be a real headache for developers. A graphically advanced game like splinter cell is quickly let down by guards who float up stairs and dead bodies whose heads dissapear through walls, when you stash them I reckon ultra convincing animation will need lots of horsepower and memory, not to mention lots of development time.   4. If the screens can be in seperate wifi connected units then there's the possibility for all sorts of mutiplayer stuff on the go. Co-op or versus - loads of possibilty. It's nintendo's take on online gaming - they've just gone for small and portable. Leave the global media network stuff to MS and Sony.
  5. I don't think it'll be GC/GBA combo, cose it uses those ARM cpu's according to Eurogamer.net, which are surely not as capable as the GC's Power PC and ATI chips? It's hard to think of ways that dual screen can offer something that split screen can't. All you can say is that there'll be some kind of cross referencing mechanic, which will probably lead to tetris-esque franticness as players have to glance back and forth at each screen.   6. The odd thing is I've hought about this before. When playing Halo on co-op if your partner dies you get a third person view of the master chief. On some levels this is actually really useful because you can see whether enemies are hiding behind things or creeping up behind. I quite like it, it's as though you have enhanced powers of perception! Football games are an obvious one with one screen having a kickoff style radar display so you can look for runners while you trick your way past defenders on a closer view.   7. I always find FMV in 3d games a cop out. The worst in recent history is Splinter Cell. most of the FMV looks worse than the main game. I like the Halo approach where the models used in the cutscenes are improved, so the transition isn't jarring, but when you take the time to look it impresses. Like the replays in GT. Funny thing is, I remember saying to a mate about the end-of-game Tekken 3 renders that: "when the ps2 comes out, the whole game will look like that". Maybe ps3...
  8. That sums it up for me, on ledge you just end up pegging it half the time because the enemies are just so good. There’s the relief when you get to some vehicles and can just run people over or blast them with one shot. You end up doing incredible things too because the enemy are so good, I was flying a banshee attacking some covenant who stuck a grenade on the front of it. So I aimed the banshee at them and jumped out – took out about 5 of them. This would never have happened on a lower difficulty because the enemies just aren’t good enough at throwing grenades.
