  1. Get the blade of mercy ASAP. Don't he afraid to beckon help. Put a load of points in stamina early on.
  2. First few hours are rough but it's well worth sticking with. May the good blood guide your way.
  3. Adult Life Skills Was just OK. Felt very paint by numbers. Was like they tried to make a Taika Waititi film. 3/5
  4. Just like the film rating thread but with games. Score what you've been playing. A few lines about them is optional. I'll go first: Subnautica - PC - 7/10 I put about thirty hours into this and absolutely loved it for most of that time. But the total lack of streamlining started to seriously grate. Did not finish. Could have been a 10/10. Super Hot - PC - 9/10 A great concept and very slick and stylish. Surprisingly good story too. Meta as fuck.
  5. HZD is a big dull dud.
  6. Subnautica - PC I absolutely fucking loved this for about twenty hours. And then got bored shitless by the constant grind of it. A great concept horribly let down by a lack of streamlining and terrible control options. And occasional bugginess. It also for whatever reason runs like absolute fucking shit on my PC, which can run much better looking games quite well. One feature would have kept me playing it. Every base should have a bottomless box and whatever is in the box should be available for crafting without having to have it in your personal inventory. SuperHot - PC A wee fucking belter of a game this. Loved the story too, meta as fuck. Reminded me of Portal the way they kind of snuck it in. Tremendous.
  7. Now that I think about it I actually had a Zelda game and watch that was actually a watch when I was no age at all. Not sure whether it came before the master system or not.
  8. Not sure what age I was, we still lived in our first house so I was under eight, and a few years under it I think. 5 or 6 I would say. My da bought it for me along with a master system, I couldn't get out for the first room, had to use it on the living room TV any time I wanted to try it which would have to be negotiated. That was the first and only game I ever owned for the Master System, which ended up just collecting dust after maybe five goes at it. A year or two later I got a GameBoy and Tetris which was amazing. But again the one and only game I ever owned for the GameBoy. Got a Megadrive and a handfull of games which I would swap with friends when I was about 10.
  9. "Prematurely aged Tintin after watching his dog drown". Vintage Brooker description.
  10. How is there not already a thread? This is the most I've ever seen the world come together around a single TV show or any piece of media for that matter, ever. Every single person I've spoke to for more than five minutes in the past fortnight has brought it up. It's fucking tremendous. Literally 100% of the owners on the show seem like legit sociopaths. Plus that one guy's creepy lackey, I'd be willing to bet that guy has some seriously sinister shit on his hard drive.
  11. Captain fantastic - 4/5 About a mad communist guy (Vigo Mortenstein) living off the grid with his kids some shit happens and they have to interact with society. Really good. Can't remember the last twenty minutes or so was fucking hammered when I watched it. It's on Netflix. Ladybird - 3/5 A coming of age story. Content wise it was just ok, but it had a good vibe to it. Whatever the fuck that means. Also on Netflix. Extra Ordinary 2/5 This looked like exactly the type of thing I would love. But I didn't. The jokes were all very on the nose. Was bored shitless half way through. Also on Netflix.
  12. Just watched episode 4. I've said before and I'll say it again America is a fucking toilet.
  13. Documentary about a kid in LA who was tortured to death by his piece of shit mother and her piece of shit boyfriend, and the many failings of the system that lead to his death. Sick to my stomach watching the first episode.
  14. First Blood This is one of the films I will watch on TV every single time I see it on. And it's always enjoyable. Just a really good film. All he wanted was something to eat ffs. 5/5 Clarifying note: I actually watched it on now tv cinema pass this time.
  15. Snowpiercer Saw this on prime a while ago and didn't watch cause I thought the premise was daft as fuck (still do: Bioshock but it's a train) checked it out cause the director has some mad hype right now. It was it really good. Could have been great if they'd tightened it up a bit here and there but but whatever. Tilda Swinton playing the human equivalent of the Tory party. Superb. She's always amazing in everything and it's never the same thing twice. 4 delicious and nutritious protein blocks out of 5.
  16. I'd feel like an idiot if I paid to watch Conor vs Khabib 2 (purely from a stylistic viewpoint) and that's without even getting into the fact that McGregor hasn't done nearly enough to earn a rematch. But I'd feel like a fucking scumbag for paying to watch Conor vs Diego. It's unseemly as fuck. That Diego is still getting fights at all is fucked up, but throwing him into a hometown gimme fight for McGregor where there's a massive chance he's gonna get badly knocked out would just be too gross. Horrible shit like that happens in the sport all the time but that would be the straw that broke the camel's back. McGregor has seriously gone down in my estimations for even putting that shit out there. To be fair though he had already dropped miles. What's trying to manifest a little gimme fight after all the other shit he has done.
  17. If this happens I'm done with the sport.
  18. What are some shows or films that you loved that for whatever reason never took off or hit the way they should have. My suggestion: Ignore the shitty music choice in the trailer (nothing like that in the show). I like Kanye but was a shit choice for this trailer. It's really good. It could have been great but they went a bit overboard here and there. The cast is epic. And it has one of the greatest villains ever in it. It's on Netflix.
  19. Have you seen Chef? A universe in which Jon Favreau has tanked Sofia Vergara and Scarlet Johansen... And he isn't even rich in it.
  20. I wonder how with it or not he was, and for how long. My biggest fear is my mind going but still being alive for a long time. Imagine if by like 91 he was gone and they kept him around all this time without him having any control over his own life. Shit thought to have at the passing of a Hollywood legend. I'm Spartacus.
  21. Uncut Gems Very very shouty and fast paced and I didn't particularly enjoy most of it. The last twenty minutes or so was pretty great though. Hard one to score. 3/5
  22. Wow. Thank you. An honour just to be nominated etc. Who's picks came highest in the top 10?
  23. Yeah I noticed it was particularly bad for her scenes and could imagine they were forced to do so after Carrie Fisher died. But the whole film was like that. Instead of filming any of the scenes with a wide angle and showing everyone it just showed a zoomed in shot of whoever was talking saying a line or two. Cut next person's line or two. Cut. And so on. Maybe they done it throughout just so the Leah scenes would be consistent with the rest. Still horrible to watch though.
