Sane replied to dino_jr's topic in Discussion
I just cancelled my amazon UK pre order for the SMB game and watch, so anyone still looking for one might be able to pick it up there. -

My nephew got a Switch for his birthday with this game, is it possible to play local co-op with him against online opponents? And do I need my own Switch and a copy of the game for that? -
How about 40-something Dutch men?

It makes sense. The first one was also honed to perfection during a long period. Its the kind of game where only playing it with a large number of people will generate the feedback necessary to balance it properly. If you're someone who going to play this for hundreds of hours it makes sense to wait a bit now until all the big changes have been made.

Super Mario 3D All-Stars - latest: no more happy Bowser!!

How's everyone getting along with the touch screen controls in Galaxy in handheld mode? I never played the game before and I find some situations where I have to use them a bit un intuitive. Also, I think the game wanted me to use the touchscreen while also moving Mario and pressing buttons at some point, that's something I hope I won't have to do often because it's pretty much impossible. There's a chance I just didn't really understand what to do though... -
Thank you, @Gabe already kindly gave me a code.

It seems like a good game and I applaud them for trying something new, but the control scheme is really preventing me from enjoying it sadly . It works well enough, I just don't find it very satisfying somehow.

Yeah that music is amazing. Still not sure if it's meant as a parody or not.

This game really is an underappreciated gem .

Can I have Lethal League if it's still available?
-
That's a really good point actually. I almost forgot about the fact the Switch doesn't have analogue triggers because I don't really have any racing games on it. Guess this is one for PC then.

This review mentions its 30fps when there are multiple cars in the race and 60fps when time trialling. Is that true?
-
Oh man, I'm gutted. I somehow just assumed it would be on switch . The dpad is a good point though. Guess I will just get it on pc.
-
Wait, it's not going to be on switch on release?
-
I have my monitor and TV both hooked up directly to the pc and just extend the desktop to both. The only time there's switching involved is when I want to play a game on a screen that's not the primary at that moment. And these days a lot of games have a setting for letting you choose which monitor you want to play on so it's not often needed.

I'm curious to hear some impressions of people that bought it. I've read some reviews but I'm still on the fence. -
I never got on with V either. I loved the Nero and Dante stages but still bounced off the game because of V. He should have been the optional, unlock-able character.

What's wrong with the L/R system? I bought it yesterday and only played for a short bit but it seemed better than the normal controls. -
It's OK. If you're like me your experience will most likely be similar this time around but after a much shorter time.

Speaking of bullshit, I recall a snowstorm in on of the DLC's that just went on for ages with some horses or something. Now that was bullshit.

Regarding Ryza's battle system: I would have preferred standard turn based as well. However, it's not too bad. It is turn based in a way but the main difference is that the action doesn't pause while you select what to do. You can control all the party members but it involves switching between them while the battle continues, so it can be difficult to manage everything. I'm still getting to grips with it, but it has plenty of depth and when it all comes together it's very satisfying.
