The White Lotus: Season 2 (2022)
I just binged the final three episodes of this. It was mag-fucking-nificent. Better than the first season, even. The casting, the locations, the music, the cinematography, the fucking *tension*, the sex - absolutely brilliant. The best thing I've watched since Better Call Saul finished last year. And it's such a treat to see F. Murray Abraham and Michael Imperioli on centre stage once more. I couldn't help but watch the entire thing with a massive smile plastered over my face.
Essential viewing.
6/5
@Mike S, get this watched immediately.
I'm 20 minutes in and it's already the best thing ever
.
Edit: also the music is amazing!
Edit: I watched 3 episodes in a row.

Yeah Rolling Gunner's novice mode is great if you are not a shmup god.

Hmm I refunded like 3 or 4 games over 3 years or so. Doesn't seem enough to be abusing the system. Oh well, I guess I'll just keep it.

Has Microsoft's refund policy changed? I tried to get a refund for a game which I bought but regretted very quickly (less than 1 hour played) because I found it too difficult and they refused because I had played it. Even a follow up from me was refused with the same reason. I have refunded multiple games in the past for similar reasons without problems and I always thought the rule was you hadn't played it longer than a reasonable amount of time which makes sense. But if booting it up and trying it out disqualifies a purchase for a refund I'll have to me much more selective in what I buy.

What's wrong with the scrolling? Is it different from the original games?

Reading about Zangetsu led me to reading about Undernauts: Labyrinth of Yomi. That also seems interesting! And it's on sale.

Is anyone playing Labyrinth of Zangetsu? I'm interested in hearing about it from some trusted sources before I pull the trigger. It looks gorgeous, and seems to be a pared-down Wiz 1-3 clone, which is all I really need - those fundamentals are enough to sustain thousands upon thousands of dungeons without much risk of boredom. (The current Five Ordeals publisher seems to be directly testing this theory - there's more downloadable content for that than I could ever play.)
I have not played it but your post made me curious and I found this review that gives a pretty decent idea of what to expect:

I bought this a while back for 5 euro or something so I figured I'd play it to celebrate the release of the sequel. It's fun! I've played a few hours, just going around the beach and surrounding areas, picking up lots of stuff, stabbing zombies with my knife. It's a little janky but nothing too bad. And I like the setting, somehow fits quite well. I don't think I will finish it but I already feel like I got my money's worth. Looking forward to play part 2 in a few years for a similar amount

Man I wish theaters here (in the Netherlands) would participate, I'd love to see Alien and/or Aliens on the big screen. Hopefully it will catch on at some point.

Ok I have now moved this show to the top of my list based on this (and other recommendations in this thread) review. Looking forward to it

Let me guess, that first right hand hairpin at the start of the first stage? The Fulvia is like a lemming trying to launch itself off there to certain doom below
Yeah that one got me good and then I immediately made a few more mistakes and I just felt hopeless. Next time I will do some free practice first.

I started and immediately messed up multiple times so I gave up for this week. Practicing in free play is a good idea!

The OLED screen is amazing, I play a lot in the dark and I've never seen any green where it wasn't meant to be.

A lid is absolutely essential. It doesn't matter how clean your house is, a turntable attracts dust like nothing else.
For the turntable I'd recommend a Pro-ject. I've had several over the last 25 years and all have been fantastic. Their concept when they launched was (and still is mostly) to leave out everything that not strictly needed (like automatic start/stop) and focus purely on the build quality while still being affordable. They have a lot of different turntables, this one seems well suited for your purpose.

Would be nice if they add the bundle to the online voucher list.

Is this really good, overall? I've tried to get into it literally 3 times and it's so glacially slow in the first few episodes that each time I've given up. I absolutely adore time travel stories and really want to give it another go if it's finally going to click and become great.
(I don't mean slow as in there's not enough action or anything like that, I mean every scene seems like it takes twice as long as it needs to and there's loads of padding with frustratingly slow camera movements)
It's really excellent and you should watch it. The start is a little difficult to get through, I too watched the first few epiodes when season 1 came out and then drifted away. I tried again last year from the start and binged everything in a few weeks. If you like time travel this definitely delivers. It's not perfect but it's very smart, it keeps you guessing as to what's happening and the answers rarely disappoint. Also you will get used to the pacing, mood and language, in fact it's a part of what makes it special.

Why does it say 2:50 hours till upcoming event (on my screen anyway)?
Edit: I can't seem to start the event.

That's broadly how it works for normal purchases, however I'm not sure of the interplay of the online sub and game vouchers between countries. I'd expect you'd need to use the game vouchers on the Norway store and thus you'd need to be in the Norway store to download the game, but can switch back to Netherlands once downloaded.
Thanks! I think you're right, I'll try it like that.

You should try it on Insanity. I still can't believe I managed that back in the day.
Yeah I don't think that'd be very enjoyable for me. I'm still getting used to things, I chose vanguard because I played through all 3 games as infiltrator back in the day and I wanted something else. Not really sure how to make the most of it tbh, I have already seen the game over screen a fair few times. I think I need to go and get Jack, I need a proper biotic as backup.

I gotta say, this game is a lot harder than ME1.

I spent yesterday evening playing ME2, it's pretty good isn't it? The difference with ME1 in terms of production values is huge! Can't believe there's only 3 years between them. I love the setup too, going around the galaxy to assemble your team is very compelling. Guess Yakuza can wait...

That's pretty elaborate for a teaser. Looks OK, a bit generic I guess. I remember season 1 of this show, that was excellent. Hopefully this can reach that level of quality.

Right after posting I said "fuck it" and booted up ME2
. Turns out the legendary edition does not automatically install all 3 games though, so it's downloading now
