  1. This one has twice the SSD size and a 10th gen processor for the same price.   5. There will be an icon just above those two options, either in the top left or right corner of the builder menu, that you need to press. Not very intuitive.
  6. City have already played Arsenal at the Emirates and won 2-0, so in that sense it is definitely two points dropped. But who knows - we might not draw away at Wolves like they did. I still think we will have a close title race given our defence is so tight and our strikers still haven’t properly hit top form yet.

Yeah, I imagine a generally sensible thing to do is save the 'chips' that can only be played once a season (triple captain, bench boost, all out attack) until the double gameweeks start happening in the new year. Particularly (in the case of bench boost) if you do some canny transfers in the week or two prior to a double game week to maximise the number of players in your squad that do have two games.

  10. My main problem with the game is reading the commentary text. It's a shame its only displayed over the small possession bar at the bottom of the screen. It would be great (in the overview game view) if the commentary could be displayed in a bigger bar in the centre of the screen.
  11. I found that getting close to the enemies and continuously jumping and pressing X whilst in the air works very effectively (perhaps too effectively) in the early stages of the game.
  12. Is it possible to remove the PSP battery icon in the top right hand corner of the screen?
  13. I bought this game recently, and am struggling to find the 'Aiming Aid' difficulty option that is mentioned in the manual - has it been removed, or am I just being silly and not spotting it? (its the option that supposedly removes the aiming aid on the Overhead view when you are on a difficulty level above easy etc.)

  16. The reason I feel that GamesTM is doing a disservice is that I don't always read a review simply to find out whether I should buy the game in question. If I did, I'd never bother reading the words of any review giving a game less than 50% for instance. But often it's reviews of bad games are the most interesting to read. Of course, Half Life 2 isn't a bad game, but the general point remains - if the writing is good enough - if the review is particularly interesting, or entertaining, for instance - readers should still be able to gain satisfaction from reading it regardless of the fact that they may already know that the game is good, and even if they already own the game. I already own Half Life 2, but it doesn't mean I wouldn't enjoy reading a really passionately, eloquently written review about it. Sure, it would be redundant in terms of helping me to decide whether to purchase the game, but whatever happened to just reading for sheer pleasure? I guess GamesTM's dilema is weighing up the advantages of placing a review in the magazine now, for the benefit of readers who would simply be interested in hearing GamesTM's critique on the game; vs. the potential damage that could be done if a potential new reader flicks through the magazine in WH Smith next month, sees a Half Life 2 review, wonders why on earth the magazine is reviewing it so late, considers the possibility that the magazine might often struggle to get the latest releases, and so decides to buy a different magazine instead. Given this, their decision to place the review on the website seems fair enough.

  19. Cars probably aren't the best comparison. Since cars wear out over time / have the potential to get damaged in crashes etc., if I had no need for my Ford car anymore (say I get a wage rise and purchase a Porsche), Ford would much prefer I sold my car to someone else who can use it rather than leaving it doing nothing in my garage (the equivalent of leaving a completed game on my shelf rather than selling it to someone else), because Ford can make money from the new owner, selling him spare parts, servicing the car etc. This is in contrast to a videogame publisher, who, on a simple level, will make no future revenue from someone buying a particular second-hand game off me. Of course, this probably isn't true when the deeper picture is considered, since I may use the money to purchase a brand new game, which I otherwise wouldn't have afforded, and the buyer of my game may like the game so much he buys the sequel to it at full-price, or purchases an official playing guide for it, etc.
  20. Can anyone confirm this? As far as I'm aware, and I could be wrong, they don't have to. For instance, every Xbox game I own has the following message on its box: "Unauthorised copying, reverse engineering, transmission, public performance, rental, pay for play, or circumvention of copy protection is strictly prohibited" - no mention of re-sale whatsoever.
  21. It is rather surprising isn't it! I've seen them plugged on the last couple of editions of Top of the Pops, which would certainly help, plus a bit of good planning on their record label's behalf to get it released in a week which was rather fallow in terms of big new releases - bar Eric Prydz (never heard of him before) and Girls Aloud who went in at numbers one and two repsectively, the next few new entries were Joss Stone at 9, and - crikey - Status Quo at 14.

    Games Tm

    If I was told that a game would be "great" for 30 hours, I'd probably take it, even if it did get shit after that point. 30 hours is a considerable length of time to play a single game, and paying £30 for 30 hours of "great" entertainment, regardless of what happens to the quality of the game after that point, sounds pretty reasonable. £1 per hour of entertainment compares favourably with other forms of leisure. I'd much rather play a game that was great for the first 30 hours and goes downhill afterwards, than a game you have to play for 30 hours before the good bits start, that's for sure.

    Coheed And Cambria

    I really like the new My Chemical Romance album that came out on Monday - Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. Although not identical in style to Coheed & Cambria, it does fit into the hardcore/pop-punk genre, bordering on prog at some points, but most importantly, has some great tunes that I already have stuck in my head despite only getting it yesterday. In a similar fashion to Coheed & Cambria's work, it's a concept album that tells a story through the course of the songs. If you're interested, check out www.mychemicalromance.com to listen to 3 tracks from it on their radio player thing. It does enter screamo territory at some points though, so if thats a definite no-no then it might not quite be what you're looking for - sorry!
