Yup, in agreement about Vialli. No affiliation with any of the clubs he played for, but a great player and seemed like a really good guy.

He needs to be given the same chance Royal has, if only to prove he’s not the answer. Hopefully he’ll play well and Conte will change his mind. Agree that from his cameos Sarr currently looks better than ‘future Spurs captain’ Skipp at the moment. I know Skipp gets plaudits from all the managers he plays for, but I still haven’t seen anything in his game since he came back from the Championship that makes him look better than what we have already, and he doesn’t appear to have any pace. I’d like to see a Sarr/Bentancur pairing given a go when Rod is fit. Hoping Gil gets a run now - he made the difference when he came on against Sporting at home, and his energy and workrate is refreshing when you see some of the others jogging around not looking like they give a shit.

Lloris’ problem stems from being peppered with longer range shots constantly because Conte’s system is built around ceding possession in certain areas and defending deep, allowing teams to shoot from range because they’re much less likely to score. Of course, he probably didn’t expect goals to be flying in off Dier’s arse, or Lloris to be spilling those long rangers into the path of attackers. We don’t have the players to play his system well enough. The club either have to bend to his will and get those players, or they have to find a more tactically flexible coach who can come up with a system that suits the players we do have. Ironically we’re short of two or three players who would make the difference in at least three formations, but the problem is that those two or three players we need change depending on what system we play. The other issue we have is that the Hitchen purchases are largely still at the club and no-one wants to buy them.
