I think he just lost focus and needed a new challenge. He’ll probably do well for you.

    Sissoko to Watford official now.
  3. Yes, reported that his dad gets £20m in any deal. The whole thing is crazy.
  4. Haaland’s release clause of something like €70m gets activated next summer, so he’ll be a lot more affordable than he would’ve been this season. His wages will still be eye watering though.

This could all be gamesmanship anyway - he’s tried games in the press to force Levy into selling, and now that hasn’t worked maybe this is to try and force City’s hand.
  6. RIP Charlie, drumming/music icon, and so damned stylish.

Agreed - the report I read said he had a poor 20/21 with 3 goals and 2 assists (or the other way round) and said “…that was almost half his numbers for 19/20.” which for an attacker is still pretty poor.

Strangest link of the day is the Christiano Ronaldo to Spurs rumour. Presumably at this point we’re just trying to take players who are really famous for wearing a specific shirt number and then making them wear the number 9 instead.

Although without Wolves goalie having a good game, we could have scored three ourselves. Weird game.
  10. Stratego (2nd single, came out yesterday) is better.

Yup, failure to replace with equal quality has really knackered us recently. He’s making the right noises, but remains to be seen if we can get any of these deals over the line.

Hopefully Don Fabio will reverse that trend.

Yes, I think he’d be in for a shock if he did end up staying now. Charlie Kane (presumably with Harry’s consent) has really blown this.

I’m disappointed that Ndombele wants out - I think he’ll he an amazing player for someone, but maybe not cut out for the EPL. Has the potential and robustness to be a Dembele type player.
  15. Rick McCallum said the Brits handled all the green-screen work on the Star Wars prequels better than the US actors because they had traditionally done a lot more ‘sparse set’ theatre. With this, as @Stigweardsaid, the Chris Evans impersonator’s work was way above the quality of the big names, because he’s done a lot more voice acting. Stan especially was really flat. I didn’t think Hayley Atwell was too bad actually, but if you’re used to bouncing off other actors’ performances it’s probably quite hard to do that in a sound booth on your own. I enjoyed it enough to stick with it - I like these butterfly effect type scenarios.

They looked so much fitter in the final 15 minutes. I mentioned the training and what seemed like lack of conditioning last season, as Mourinho had also left the Man Utd players in a poor state of fitness (Ole complained about it). They looked very sharp, and it was a great performance.

Whilst that’s all true, Dele’s form had already disappeared the season we got to the CL Final. I think he and Trippier both played that 2018/19 season carrying injuries from the World Cup.
  19. I’m not sure I entirely buy the gloss-over. Nuno acknowledged after the Chelsea friendly that there was an issue with Kane but they wanted to deal with it internally. If this was all completely innocent, and considering the damage the silence from both parties has done to Kane’s reputation with a section of the fanbase, I don’t understand why Spurs wouldn’t make a statement to make it clear that his leave was planned, and that he wasn’t due back at training until the weekend.
  20. I hope the Bees do well - used to go to Griffin Park a lot when I was younger, with one of my mates who lived down the road and supported them. This was old Division 3 days, with Holdsworth, Blisset and Gayle playing up front, and Statham, Manuel, Evans and Millen. And of course, everyone’s favourite anti-hero Bob Booker.
  21. Just started watching - was not expecting an orchestral version of Metallica’s ‘Nothing Else Matters’ to be playing over the prologue.
  22. No-one’s mentioned it yet I don’t think, so I thought I would. Nice example of fans of a rival club not being arseholes for once… https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58138453
  23. Amazed at how many BBC pundits and commentators, many of whom are former athletes, can’t tell the difference between a left and right leg. They were even talking about her left achilles having gone again while she was hopping toward the finish line on her left leg.

Yup, just get it done, and give the club a chance to find a decent replacement.
