  1. Two episodes down. Can’t disagree, this is really captivating.
  2. I was contacted by EA to complete a BF2042 survey. Took forever to do and as I appear to be the only person alive that enjoys the game I’m probably not the ideal candidate to provide them with information. I’m on PS5 with cross play turned off so perhaps that has some bearing on my enjoyment of the game.
  3. The bug that prevents me from changing my weapon is still there.
  4. I’ve played a lot of this now (beta / pre release / full release) and I’m enjoying it a lot. Once you get past learning the huge maps and certain weapons that need fixed by the devs it’s actually really good. The diversity of being able to fine tune an operator and / or their weapon was a decent design choice. Getting away from K / D and scoreboards is inspired. Makes it feel like a team game, as in a giant team. There’s a battle to be won and that’s the main thing ultimately. Visually it looks great on PS5. PC version is still completely terrible for me. Never did get acceptable performance for long. It’s now worse and barely loads without a multitude of problems.
  5. Overall this was a bit of a flop. It looked amazing and Lee Pace is always good but it felt like it had been written by someone who learnt their trade on Hollyoaks. I’d be amazed if Apple bankroll this for 8 seasons unless they get new people in to write / run the show.

I couldn’t agree more. A pile of shite and that final episode was nonsensical rubbish.
  7. I’ve played a lot of this over the last week and ultimately found it hard to stop playing although there are genuine issues. Getting to know the maps makes a huge difference although the 14 mile run at the start of each game of conquest is insane. The operators and the mix & match load outs appeal to me as I’m endlessly experimenting. Then again, that whole system is clearly another EA cash grab. Ultimately you are often better off with a DMR although the PP-29 is shockingly OP and needs nerfed immediately. On both PS5 and PC I often get the same bug in which I can’t change my weapon load out. This happens in every other game. The PC version however has far more severe problems and it’s a badly optimised mess. I’m certainly not playing it on anything apart from console from here on. I guess I’m in for the long haul and it’ll probably be Portal that is the success story.
  8. I have that in my PS5 and it’s certainly a good job. Even so, I’ve just over 1.6 TB to work with and I think I’ll have to get an external SSD for storage purposes at some stage. There’s still a lot of games at over 100gb.
  9. If you don’t manage to get in to a vehicle at the start of conquest it’s kind of mind blowing how far you have to run to actually get to the first control point.
  10. The majority of them are on PC and that version is in a much worse state than console. Dice deciding cross play between PC and console was a good idea is a terrible decision. I’ve mostly played on PC and when I logged into the PS5 version for the first time last night it carried all my progress over. I was very pleased by that but every time I tried to turn off cross play the game failed to load.
  11. Most likely. Buying a disc based game in Tesco is time consuming so I never picked it up. I’d probably take if for the same price digitally to be fair though.
  12. This is £25 in Tesco. Saw it this morning and according to HotUKDeals it’s a nationwide offer.
  13. Having read through the BF sub reddit it appears that the PC version is a disaster. Even people with the highest of high end rigs are getting poor frame rates. I’m happier now that I know everyone is also screwed and I can’t blame my set up on the many problems. As for hovercrafts I’ve also been baffled as to why / how they’re driving up the side of buildings. I’ve saw trees flying about a map as well. I actually do like the game although I liked BFV as well so clearly I have no taste.
  14. I've turned all my settings either to off or low. It's the only way I can slightly compensate for what I presume is lag. This isn't really a surprise but this game needs a patch or 10.
  15. I'll have to try this on console again as it's not much different than the beta on PC. The framerate isn't spectacular to say the least but I suppose in hindsight it's maybe just really, really, really laggy.
  16. PC Gamer preview is quite favourable as well. Oddly I had more fun on the beta with the PS5 version as on PC most of the settings didn’t seem to do much. Low / Medium / High didn’t matter, I just got the same frame rate regardless.
  17. The disconnects are certainly frequent but I’m much less impressed with the occasional stutters. Very distracting in this type of game.
  18. This is surprisingly good. It’s not often this sort of thing works but they’ve nailed it so far.

I think it’s dipped to unbelievably bad levels. Last Fridays episode was like poorly written amateur dramatics. It’s sad to see Steve Carrell in this garbage.
  20. It is very apparent this game has some serious flaws. The world and combat system are pretty good but everything else needs significantly improved. I’d be surprised if it’s still going in 24 months.

    Apple TV +

Apple TV + is on a really bad run. Foundation and Invasion are not good, season 2 of The Morning Show is all over the place, season 2 of Servant was clearly made up as they went along and I’ve not been able to get through season 2 of See yet. They are throwing a lot of money at crap.
  22. I’ve never read the book but this a huge flop for me. Beyond the first couple of episodes it’s been a rapid decline. It does look amazing but it’s so drawn out and tedious. Having watched Denis Villeneuve’s stunning Dune recently it really puts Foundation to shame. Both projects are an attempt to film something that is apparently difficult but only one has worked.
  23. Brilliant film with an incredible soundtrack. Visually it looks stunning as well. I've never read the book and can barely remember the 80's film. No doubt it requires a bit of concentration at times but I could have watched another hour of it no problem. An absolute must buy as I'd imagine a home version with Dolby Vision and Atmos would look and sound breathtaking.

    Secretlab Chairs.

It took me from April until yesterday to actually do something about upgrading my chair. Went for the Ikea 'JÄRVFJÄLLET' in the end. £180 versus the £369 for the Secretlab Titan. It's a massive upgrade over what I am used to and certainly a tier above the Ikea favourite 'MARKUS'. I'd imagine the Titan is much better padded and that's where the extra expense comes from. Some of it at least.
  25. Once you’ve played about 10-20 hours of this you’ve saw nearly all it has to offer. It does have potential though but that all depends on how quickly the developers can improve things. If it takes 6 months then I can’t see New World lasting. A simple reskinning of the mobs to give them variety would be an obvious start.
