  1. Without spoiling anything, when it begins, it overlaps with the original trilogy and references events in the second trilogy. You don’t need knowledge of anything outside those.
  2. Watching this with a non gamer, and the intro sequence had *exactly* the same effect as it did when I first played it.
  3. I’m 80 pages into the new book, and it’s great so far. It’s started at a relatively small scale, and has just got to what looks to be a major plot point, but it’s so nice to be back in a familiar world.
  4. Decided to rewatch it to see if it’s as good as I thought, and so far, yes!
  5. Just watched S04E03 Australian, and it was excellent. Some really talented builders, though a couple aren’t in the same league.
  6. I've not played them much for about a decade, but my brother and I got totally obsessed with them on MAME, especially on a proper arcade cabinet. I'll have to fire it up and give it another go. It seems that the first one was in the arcade as well, but I've never played it, just 2 & 3 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magical_Drop
  7. It’s sold now, but they are out there at reasonable prices still
  8. I’ve only watched a few Australian ones, but I find Brickman’s judging to be fairer and more consistent than Amy & Jamie on the US version.
  9. McCoy was written the same in Star Trek. Everyone thinks Kirk was the shagger, but he was just as bad.
  10. I wonder if we’ll get more UK episodes after the Christmas special? Now that the show has much more exposure I’m sure we could get a higher standard of competitor than the original lot.
  11. The New Zealand one is available to watch here. https://shvideos.net/tag/lego-masters-nz-season-1/ It would be nice to watch a few more countries but the languages might be tricky.
  12. It feels like this deserves a separate thread from the main Lego one, given that there’s so many versions now. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lego_Masters Australia Season 4 is on E4 now, and so far it’s been really good with a few improvements on the format from the US series.
  13. Yep, and the origins of it as a game module means that it's pretty well structured for a film. There was a terrible animated version of Dragons of Autumn Twilight, though Kiefer Sutherland did a passable turn as Raistlin
  14. Dr Franklin doing “inappropriate sex pest” in that one.
  15. And failing that, Dragonlance please
  16. It just gets better and better. We’re on episode 4 of 1923 tonight. Also very good but not 1883 good.
  17. @Eighthours aside from TOS, your views on Trek quality are pretty close to mine. The main difference is that I started with reruns of Kirk vs The Gorn on the beeb and saw The Motion(less) Picture at the cinema with my grandfather.
  18. Or… 8 mile was pretty good, and was entertaining even for people who weren’t a big fan of rap music.
  19. Just watched the first episode, and it’s really very effective. Only five more I think, so won’t take long to get through. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt14273790/
  20. He was there when I joined though I never met him in person. I’m still in contact with half the people in that video and a few more, 20 years on.
  21. The chap with the tattoo was Gothae Obscuram (Paul R) who I think would have posted at the same time as you. It looks like there was a mass exodus from the group around 99 which was just before I arrived.
  22. Just trying to work out if we overlapped. Recognise any of these? https://youtu.be/lGmdrWLVOX0
  23. Yep. That was my main home online for quite a few years. Were you in there as well?
  24. Oddly, I never posted there much, but was on the Star Trek group which had some crossover of members. I spotted Paul Harper’s name straight away.
  25. That’s what I thought might be the case.
