I enjoyed Mighty Nein more than Vox Machina for the most part. More interesting characters, more interesting stories.
Yep, and probably more accessible for a wider audience.0 -
Nice! I think that’ll make a better cartoon than VM

Nice. I’m half a dozen eps ahead of you, and season 2 is consistently excellent. Looking forward to hearing how you find it.

Is this getting much advertising and attention for mainstream non-gaming audiences?

Bookings have reopened for patrons. Just booked the first date of the year, 26th Feb. Which is a 10-4 and includes access to the Cave and the Arcade.
And regular bookings are on their new website.

This one says it is a direct follow-on from the Chronicles and Legends trilogies but haven't there been a bunch of other books and series since then? I seem to remember a Chronicles part 4, and at least one other trilogy. Were they just shit and hence now being written out of canon?
This is quite difficult to do without spoilers, but it’s a new lead character. Their story runs in parallel to, and slightly overlaps the Chronicles then Legends books. It doesn’t seem to have any bearing on “expanded universe” books.1 -

I think it’s the right decision. As brilliant as it is I think going out before they run out of ideas and crater it is smart.
Yes, absolutely this. Is there anyone else left to bring back from the films other than Hilary Swank?1 -

My daughter and son in law recently came back from the local arcade raving about adult-size 4-player sit on Hungry Hippos. That's what we've come to.
The video did look hilarious though.
Now that sounds like fun.1 -
Seaside arcades with coin pushers, token machines and a handful of large dedicated cabs have been circling the drain for ages. It’s easy to see how they could go under with a combination of electricity costs and casual customers with less disposable income.
Pay to enter retro arcades seem to be doing much better.0 -
I don’t think anyone needs a Gary Glitter video here

So, this only available in UK via Sky Atlantic. Can’t buy it anywhere?
You can sign up for Now TV to watch it. https://www.nowtv.com/stream/all-channels-sky-atlantic0 -

Do we know how far forward we are in the universe when this takes place? I've always avoided anything Dragonlance aside from the original trilogy and the Legends one (which I still am quite happy to read through again after all these years). I'm wondering just how much open mouthed confusion I can expect when I get my mitts on this one!
Without spoiling anything, when it begins, it overlaps with the original trilogy and references events in the second trilogy.
You don’t need knowledge of anything outside those.1 -
Watching this with a non gamer, and the intro sequence had *exactly* the same effect as it did when I first played it.

I’m 80 pages into the new book, and it’s great so far. It’s started at a relatively small scale, and has just got to what looks to be a major plot point, but it’s so nice to be back in a familiar world.

Decided to rewatch it to see if it’s as good as I thought, and so far, yes!

Just watched S04E03 Australian, and it was excellent. Some really talented builders, though a couple aren’t in the same league.

I've not played them much for about a decade, but my brother and I got totally obsessed with them on MAME, especially on a proper arcade cabinet.
I'll have to fire it up and give it another go.
It seems that the first one was in the arcade as well, but I've never played it, just 2 & 3

I’ve only watched a few Australian ones, but I find Brickman’s judging to be fairer and more consistent than Amy & Jamie on the US version.

One of the YouTubers reactors describes s1/ early season 2 Franklin as a creepier version of La Forge when it comes to women!
McCoy was written the same in Star Trek. Everyone thinks Kirk was the shagger, but he was just as bad.0 -
I wonder if we’ll get more UK episodes after the Christmas special?
Now that the show has much more exposure I’m sure we could get a higher standard of competitor than the original lot.

The New Zealand one is available to watch here. https://shvideos.net/tag/lego-masters-nz-season-1/
It would be nice to watch a few more countries but the languages might be tricky.2 -
It feels like this deserves a separate thread from the main Lego one, given that there’s so many versions now.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lego_MastersAustralia Season 4 is on E4 now, and so far it’s been really good with a few improvements on the format from the US series.

Seriously, this. It's perfectly ripe for it for loads of reasons, not least of which being that it's not a great D n D setting as it's so fleshed out.
Some great characters in Raistlin and Cameron, that fucking kender, Lord Soth, Tanis, Kitiara - a couple of them would easily win a large fandom - Raistlin would be a huge hit with goth kids. Even the side characters like Dalamar and Astinus are quite intriguing.
The best story however is the Twins Trilogy, rather than the War of the Lance. It's more focused and has higher stakes.
Yep, and the origins of it as a game module means that it's pretty well structured for a film.
There was a terrible animated version of Dragons of Autumn Twilight, though Kiefer Sutherland did a passable turn as Raistlin

A real shame. She was great in 24 and pretty much everything else I’ve seen her in. That’s no age at all.
