What's the Family Guy guy's show? And is it available anywhere legal?

    The Orville.
They tone down the knob jokes after the first couple of episodes and it delivers proper TNG style stories. You can imagine some of the lines being delivered by Riker or Data very easily.

The guest character actors just keep jumping out on this rewatch:

Bishop Brennan, Sebastian from Blade Runner, the minigunner bloke from Aliens, the mum from Lost in Space...

Paul Winfield (one of the cops in Terminator)

It's cheap looking, terribly scored and often poorly acted. And it's still brilliant.

    This ^^^^

There’s a remaster available so it looks better, and is always worth watching.

  4. Saw this last night (IMAX, probably 30-40 people in there so loads of room) and it was really good fun.
Some of my favourite marvel films are the ones where I know nothing about the characters and story and this didn't disappoint.

Really good fight scenes and more character driven than many of them. A solid 8/10 film.

At a tangent, there's a lot of different films and TV series in Phase 4, and it's not so obvious how it might come together.

I am guessing Seaton’s arcade glory days are long behind it, like most places I guess.

Did you walk along the Esplanade? It’s all run down, but Google maps seems to show they still have the awnings where I used to play Scramble, you can just see the blue ones to the far right of this pic:

Country Gifts still going strong, I used to play the machines while my family were in there! This is like a hundred yards from where Pastimes is.

Seaton seems to have turned a corner with some overdue redevelopment going on.
There’s a nice big Tesco and housing estate behind the front, and the tramline is a big draw.
Along the front there are some mixed use developments going up and other signs of life returning.

I'm three episodes in and I love it so far, from what I've heard it only gets better from here.

If nothing else it proves that the TNG model - episodic, ensemble cast, high concept, low threat - still works perfectly for a modern TV show, and emphasises, as if we didn't already know, that the guy currently in charge of Star Trek is an absolute fucking moron.

Yep, there is definitely a market for stand alone episodes like this, as well as the 10 episode story arc.

I am in such a quandary about this show. My technical ability beyond "Ted lasso stream online" is nonexistent (I blame Netflix et al for making me take my finger off the torrenting button), but I also don't want to start another subscription service because they're a capitalistic cancer. ALSO also, I don't want to do a seven-day trial in case this show runs for nine completely top quality seasons and I spaff it away on the first two seasons.

But it is by far my most wanted for some time.

Apple TV is the perfect subscription service to drop in and out of.
There are some awesome shows but it’s not high volume so just pay five quid and rinse it for a month then stop. Come back in a few more and repeat.

Ted Lasso alone is worth a fiver
