  1. Apparently Hughes likes SWP more for his off the ball work than Taarabt and Hoilett. After the first match I'm inclined to agree.

Essential reading on how we won the midfield battle against Chelsea. Early days but against the league champions, and european champions, Faurlin and Granero are looking even better than I thought they would:

Except for the bit about Kyle Walker not being good at defending. That's just a stereotype because he's so good going forward; I'm still slightly in love with him from his time with us.

  2. Shocking defending from Real Madrid, as Sevilla take the lead from a corner within a minute of the game starting. All the Madrid defenders leave a nice wide space in front of the penalty spot, for a Sevilla player to basically smack the ball first time high into the centre of the goal. Easy.

Earlier game ended, Getafe 1 - 4 Barcelona

Still losing. Spanish title race over already?

  3. I didn't expect anything out of that, so very happy with a point and a decent performance. Faurlin and Granero were especially good in the middle - more than standing up to Mikel, Lampard and Hazard. Cesar also had a very good debut, you could see the defence playing with far more confidence with him in goal. In fact the whole team looked far more coherent than in previous performances, which is both impressive and encouraging. Possibly setting myself up for a fall here, but I think we all know that now they're all together, with Faurlin and Granero the final pieces of the jigsaw, this group of players are very decent, and just need a few winnable games on the bounce before we start climbing up the table.

...Anyone know what's going on with Hoilett?

  4. Were you watching the first half? Reina tried to stop Podolski's goal with his leg.

He basically collapsed on the ground? Keepers will stick a leg out when they've already dived the wrong way if it's their only chance, as Reina sort of did there. But they'll never actually try to save anything with their feet, even if the shot's close enough to them to do so, and too powerful for them to get down in time.

    Regardless, Rickie Lambert Celebrate.

  5. Reina again lol.

Does anyone know why keepers never save anything with their feet? Obvs its better to catch it if you can, but for shots like that where it's close to you and almost impossible to get down in time... surely it's just so much easier to stick you leg out and get something behind it.

  6. Their squad is unbalanced. Def needed Moutinho (god only knows why they didn't want Sahin in exchange for Modric).

Losing Modric an VDV means a lot of creativity has gone out the door and neither Adebayor nor Defoe can be trusted to score all that regularly. Bad summer Lloris and Dembele apart for them. Not sure why they (and Levy) have been lauded for the summer while Liverpool slagged off - I don't think you'll finish too far apart from each other (or Newcastle) with none of you in the top four. Guess it depends whether AVB or Rodgers clicks first (Rodgers should have much less insane pressure from the press for no reason).

Didn't see the game. But... Sigurdsson?

City looking every bit as comfortable as I expected them to. Fuck knows what Hughes think he's doing picking SWP ahead of Hoilett... But on the plus side we don't look a complete shambles. We might even be level if Rodwell's finishing was a bit better.

  7. To be fair we've had a massive clear out. And now with Faurlin back from injury, Granero and M'bia signed I'm not sure the squad is at all unbalanced - we've basically got two decent players for every position (plus a few more wingers lol) to make the 25 man squad. Rob Hulse is the only guy truly surplus to requirements, and he's only got a year left on his contract so no big woop.

How can we afford it? Err... I guess we hope the new TV deal Mittal and Fernandes' combined fortunes, and sales of Park Ji-Sung shirts cover it. On the plus side they are also looking at a new training ground, stadium, scouting network and all that good stuff too. Suggests they're around for the long haul at least. But I am a bit worried, yeah... There's no way we're breaking even any time soon.

  8. One of those agents in the know on Twitter says that Chelsea have signed Falcao.

    Hey Guys,

I am writing to tell you that, no, I am not a 'Football Agent' or 'ITK.' I am infact an 18 year old and I have been fooling all of you gullible idiots with my fake stories for the past 2 months.

I started out when I was bored one evening and I never once thought that I could get 43k followers. I feel my twitter experience has been very successful with some of my 'Stories' even trending 5th in the world. I'm proud to say that I haven't had even one transfer scoop in my time yet people still say im more reliable than Sky Sports News and the BBC. Laughable.

Some of my personal highlights were the Kaka and Falcao stories which were completely made up. The Daily Mail even wrote an article based on my Kaka tweets and the 2 journalists who wrote it were following me. The Falcao story was possibly my favourite. Last night it was trending worldwide for over an hour and for over 3 hours in Spain and in the UK.

Another fascinating thing about my time on twitter was how some top respected journalists believed my rubbish and even used me as a news source.

Whilst I am here I can also point out there is no such thing as an ITK or Agent on twitter, anyone with an IQ in double figures would realise this. @Agent_NCP , @EPL_Source and @Agent_ITK are all just poor versions of myself who would be nothing without begging me for shoutouts. @Backpage is another clown who stole my fake stories everyday and passed them off as their own.

Im not sorry for wasting everybody's time, you should have realised I was a fake when I got all of my stories wrong and deleted countless tweets. I still cant believe that, I, personally have been trending in Manchester, Leeds, Ireland, Nigeria and South Africa. Perhaps I do feel a bit sorry for the guy who got 'Falcao 20' printed on his Chelsea top.

I have really enjoyed my time on twitter, especially winding up Everton and Tottenham fans on a daily basis. You idiots must have realised I was a fake when I linked your team with every player possible in the hope that one move would happen.

My time has now come to and end and I hope to enjoy the last few days of the transfer window without making up rumours myself. Thank you to whoever followed me and retweeted my garbage, it was really appreciated. Goodbye Everyone

    Regards, @FootballAgent49 (The Boss)

Which one? I hope they haven't. Although it would be funny to see Torres dropped the moment he finds a bit of form.
