  1. Went straight for the full version. Though I hope it isn't as full of random battles as Breath of Death which I may never finish due to the random battles pissing me off.

    Rock Band!

I had a really bizarre and annoying incident when playing Rock Band 1 when the DLC had started coming through. Unless you're made of money, you buy the tracks you're interested in playing, right? I got into a lobby with two idiots who proceeded to moan that because I had entered the lobby, a load of their songs were greyed out because I had the gall to not buy songs I had no interest in. How dare me. It was pretty much being like I hadn't bought a map pack for a shooter and was holding everyone back. Bit different though really.
  3. Saw this for £14 in Asda so I picked it up. I can't shake the feeling that the love for this is one elaborate in-joke but I'll give it a good go.
  4. That's pretty decent of them, hope they do it again. Is it U.S. only? Can't see it on my dash.
  5. Haven't got very far on it but it's a fun, different take on tower defense. I got it a previous sale and it's full of charm. So yeah, go for it. Deadliest Warrior is 400 points this week, worth a bash for a laugh or is it terrible? I saw the GB Quick Look and it seemed ok in a silly kind of way.

    Rock Band!

Oh I've done some tracks on expert - my plan is to go up through the songs in order of difficulty and 5 star, if not 100%, them on expert. I've done the first few ok. In general I mean, I stick on medium playing it fairly safe when I need to kick it up a notch. Medium is getting annoying because you can hear how much is left off the track, not as obviously as easy but it's still obvious to me.
  7. The strange thing about Red Dead is that he campaigned hard to get GTA IV as GOTY a couple of years ago and as much as I love GTA IV and agree with that, RDR really does out-class it.

    Rock Band!

I'm pretty much exclusively playing keys but I'm only playing online when I get invited as I don't feel confident enough to branch out with strangers due to my lack of skill. I'm doing pro keys and trying to break out of Medium but I'm a complete beginner so it's a little tricky. I'm starting to get my head round 3 note chords but I've come to a stop on the Hard tutorials.
  9. Yeah that dragged on far too long. Looking at Drew's and Alex's top 10 videos on the site, it's clear the entire office loved Limbo so I'm confused how they can let Gerstmann shoot it down so easily. I would've thought in cases of a 3 to 1 fight then the lone supporter would have to concede their fight.
  10. I've been hammering Hydro Thunder, really glad I picked it up. Is Monday Night Combat worth getting if the community have dried up or any solo play?
  11. ilomilo ? http://wp7supersecretaccess.ilomilo.com/ Download the trial from there, then buy the full version through the trial if you like it (not technically out yet). I'm not sure how much of a co-op game the multiplayer is but certainly it's one that you can both sit down and figure out the single player puzzles between the two of you. Oh! Lara Croft and The Guardian of Light is an awesome co-op game. I recommend that.
  12. What happened with that "exciting news" from a couple of weeks ago? Did anything happen with that?
  13. I think the argument that Minecraft came out last year and hasn't left the alpha stage yet (or at least at the time of recording) was good enough for me. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Red Dead Redemption will end up winning GOTY, or at least it should do but Gerstmann will probably shoot it down.
  14. N+. 800 points for one of the best co-op games ever made. Obviously you'll both have to buy it if you're playing online but if you're playing together in the same room then buy it and enjoy.
  15. The first GiantBomb awards show is up - they do best game of last year (that got supported this year), best new character, best original song, best debut and best PC-only game. I like Jeff Gerstmann but he often seems unwilling to compromise where others will, and the best debut seemed to be an obvious 3 to pick but he just wouldn't let go. And is very wrong about Limbo.
  16. Got Hydro Thunder. Holy shit, this is awesome! I downloaded it today as it's going for only 400 points plus the DLC pack is 400 points so I got the lot for still less than it's meant to be. The problem with that is I have no idea in-game which are the original tracks and which are the add-ons. One tip though, if you're going to pick it up and not get the DLC, there's a free pack you should download which let's you play those new tracks with people who have bought it which is a nice touch. It's proper arcade racing just like mummy Dreamcast used to make, looks brilliant and is mad as a box of frogs. I just played the Area 51 track in multiplayer. I'm digging the different modes and the sense of speed, it's not as unwieldy to control as I thought it would be either. Good stuff!

    Rock Band!

Also, DLC for next week is Paul McCartney, Inhabited and Siouxsie and The Banshees. Dug out my un-used drum kit I got with The Beatles box today. Not sure if it's a RB1 or RB2 kit but it came with rubber ends you put on the drum sticks that I don't remember getting with the original kit. Got knackered from drumming along for the first time in ages. The Bee Gees pack has really been the best value DLC I've bought for Rock Band, the keys and drums are both immense fun to play.
  19. I played and loved the first Banjo when it first came out and again on XBLA. Never played the second so was really looking forward to it being re-released. It's rubbish - as previously mentioned, tedious as all hell. You have hub worlds within hub worlds within hub worlds. I was never sure where I was meant to be going and gave up. My impressions on A World of Keflings: After the small let-down of the Costume Quest add-on not feeling as snowy as I was hoping for, this really starts out like a winter game. I think they've improved it in every way - the perks you get from the witch, the colour coded workshops with the colours matching the tiles in the blueprints to make it easier to see where you need to build your parts, drop in drop out online play (not tried that yet though), having builders bring you the completed tiles and helping you build the houses, different themed worlds to visit, more of a story to what's going on, it's much funnier than the first game also. If you in any way loved the original, you'd be mad to miss out on this, it's frickin' awesome.
  20. Spoilered to save space. Just realised I haven't gone through Sonic 1 this year. I go through it every year without fail. That's one for today then.

Lifesaver! Don't know when that switched, but yep that's the ticket.

    Rock Band!

Help! I spent ages yesterday going through the songs by difficulty on Expert. I managed to 5 star a load and 100% about 5 of them. I'm logged in the same profile, my stats haven't changed in the career pages, but in the library it shows me as having 0 stars for all 378 songs. It's a pain because I was using that as my bar to see how far I'd come and what was next. It's also not showing me on the leaderboard. Anyone help? For reference, Rock Band 3 on 360, Xbox Live Gold, playing on Pro Keys.

    Dead Space 2

Which spoiler? The bit I put in spoiler tags or the bit about the end of DS1? That's in the opening introduction and I've deliberately kept it vague so you only know what I mean if you completed the first game. There's nothing in the demo that will likely spoil your enjoyment of the full game and the only bit i would call a spoiler about the demo is in the spoiler tags.

    Dead Space 2

Personally i'd say if you were sensitive about spoilers you should keep away from threads and this is a minor spoiler but hey ho:
