  1. But wouldn't that logic also mean the hero should have cured you of disease and also killed Boris Johnson? Instead of just being a game you liked a bit.
  2. Crackdown's still so refreshing because it really leans in to the "open" part of open worlds. Here's a map, here's a bunch of objectives, here's a packed lunch, now off you go. So many open world games are just a series of funnels and wide corridors. I appear to have more tolerance than most because I tend to stick the course, but they're so often bloated with things to do just to fill the map. Fuck that. If traversing your gigantic map isn't fun, then make a smaller map.
  3. Impressive given you start with four letters and know exactly where they are.
  4. My god, where did you live?!? (I hope it was Belfast)
  5. Oh, for clarification, I'm talking about the date for the Benfica match, where it can't actually fit the date text into the column. Not that you've snipped off the right hand side. FM's interface is frequently terrible. Look at all that whitespace on the league table screen. You could fit a novel into the team name column.
  6. It's a screenshot, it's exactly what you see. It's been that way for years.
  7. Good to see the UI still can't handle the size of the things it's expected to be displaying.
  8. Probably extremely difficult, if not downright impossible, if you don't.
  9. Feels great when you still pull it out of the bag despite feeling convinced it's all over.
  10. Handball is punished by a direct free kick, but offside only with an indirect one. You have to check the handball because what if De Gea could have scored! Bear with me here, I'm trying to think like a Premier League official.

  12. Yeah, I found it stuttery when you first properly encounter BTs, but I believe it's shader compilation. That was about an hour in, and the rest of the 70+ hours of no play were buttery smooth. Edit: that "no" is a rogue, perhaps a Freudian one...
  13. It's a very very very very very very very dark comedy. The priest's socks of dark comedies. I'm watching it again at some point in the next few days, having last saw it on the big screen.
  14. The AI in Aliens Colonial Marines doesn't work properly because of a spelling mistake in a config file. It's probably still not worth playing, but at least it's the very definition of a tiny tweak.
  15. I played through the whole of Black Mesa on a controller, a couple of years ago. When I downloaded it again for the Deck in the summer, I got similarly downhearted by it not being an easy setup. There is a way to get it comfortable, but I couldn't be fucked figuring it out all over again.
  16. I hugely enjoyed the open world. The boss fights that change the gameplay from "hey, tactically take out this bunch of dudes in whatever way you find most pleasing" to "here's a fucker and he's going to kill you unless you play in this very specific way, you will die a lot while trying to find this out" can fuck off.
  17. It's good, but it's no Giggs.
  18. I'd love it if that was because you live on a god forsaken island off the west coast of Galway.
  19. The source says it all - tear down the left, accuse them of any sort of hypocrisy, use that as an argument to ignore whatever they actually have to say, and then continue on.
