  1. yes I looked into that but I don’t have windwaker. After a bit of research this evening I’ve ordered a xeno chip, sd2sp2 and Swiss on a disc all for less than a tenner. I have an OSSC, am I best getting a decent RGB scart cable and using that or am I better using something like the retrobit prism for HDMI from the digital out?
  2. Got a sorry looking black gamecube at a car boot sale today, I fancy modding it with an ODE like my Dreamcast and Saturn I had thought GC Loader was the one to get but now I’ve looked they’re not selling them and their twitter feed is dead. Is there another one I should go for? Are the ones on aliexpress when I search for GC Loader the same thing?
  3. Yes the GBA has had the most use by far, the new screen and proper glass bezel make a huge difference. Im using an ez flash omega cart with it which as been superb I’ve got a couple more to do and I’ll keep one of each and sell the rest on.
  4. I’ve now done 3 originals, a color and a GBA over the past few weeks. These were all in really poor condition before I started which made it really satisfying. Probably already been said but a dust free environment and clean hands to get the screen in are a must. Did the soldering for the GBC but didn’t bother for the GBA, original game boy is the easiest by far. Even got new serial number stickers for the back of the original game boys as a nice finishing touch.
  5. I owned one about 12 years ago now, boxed USA version with a few games, I think I may have bought it from this forum actually. I always used it with an AC adaptor to save on batteries, Wario land held my interest for a few hours, had a tennis game and a robot boxing game too but they were played for a few minutes in comparison. It was a talking piece when I had guests for a few months and would let people have a go but ultimately it ended up collecting dust on a high shelf so I sold it on after a year or so. I found the stand had a crack in the plastic middle piece where you separate the legs which made it a bit unstable, something to watch out for.
  6. Managed to get 4 stars on village with Leon, quite straightforward I’ve now unlocked Ada and challenge mode, my word the challenges are a hoot. Need to have a lie down in a dark room now
  7. Yes mercenaries is a real challenge, managed to get 42k points and 3 stars on village with Leon on my 3rd attempt so I think 60k+ and 4 stars should be do able soon. Clever use of the bonus time with exploding barrels and grenades should get me there. I thought it would be easy but the shoutgun is really cumbersome, I’m going to experiment with two hands on the shotgun to see if that improves accuracy.
  8. I bought a used copy on eBay the day after release after reading all the hype on here. Seller told it wasn’t his cup of tea after trying it for half an hour, imagine doing that! I’m only about 30 hours in, not touched it in over a week now. Its great and I’ll go back to it but I’ve got very limited time to play games these days. I’ve also picked up Gran Turismo 7 now so it’s gone down the pecking order.
  9. Started this tonight, never played a game like this before other than bloodborne for about 20 minutes Picked the mature hairy male wretch as my starting character (modelled on me) 2 hours in and i’m getting in to it, avoiding larger enemies where I can as I keep getting battered, ventured into a cave earlier but retreated immediately I’ve read that I missed the tutorial completely at the start too, have I set myself up for a harder game by picking the wretch?
  10. The additional DLC maps, Haven Island and New York bank are both excellent if you don’t have them yet
  11. Wordle 209 4/6 2nd day trying this, getting better

    Oculus Quest

Runs on the quest itself after you’ve used any old PC with steam account to get it onto the quest

    Oculus Quest

You can have all 3 installed if you use the lambda1VR launcher app

Got return to castle wolfenstein and doom 3 from steam following the recommendations above, rude not to for £1.19 each Return to castle wolfenstein is excellent but seriously difficult even on easy mode, I’ve had to try using the optional laser sight Yet to try doom 3

    Oculus Quest

Got Half Life 1 running after a bit of faff with sidequest and it’s absolutely fantastic! One or two minor improvements and it could be released as a £30 game like RE4 Im using the original models rather than the HD ones and it feels like I’m in Christmas 1998 again!

Can anyone recommend me the best place to pickup prescription lenses? £84 delivered is the cheapest I can find for my useless -5 eyes Must be a cheaper place surely?
  18. I bought an N64 X5 a couple of months ago, came from Ukraine and there was no uk customs charge to pay, took about 15 days to arrive
  19. The loading times on the PS5 upgraded version are a lot better, I can’t tell if the graphics are improved mind
  20. I’ve got an x5 too, the save reset thing isn’t a big deal at all once you get used to it and if you have a Tim Worthington RGB modded console you do the pad reset out of habit anyway This reminds me that I have an original PAL N64 everdrive I must put up in the trading folder
  21. I fitted a noctua fan and the difference was very noticeable, not whisper quiet but certainly better than the hairdryer it sounded like There was a very slight clash between the fan and the new opening catch but not enough I couldn’t live with it after a bit of adjustment
  22. I’ve had a couple of N64s do this to me and it’s either been the PSU or could be the jumper pack / expansion pack needs reseated I would suggest trying a new PSU first I do have a spare PAL N64 that has no power LED, that caused me a lot of confusion!
  23. This You should be able to pick up an RGB modded NTSC console for £100-£120 if you shop around oldskoolconsoles sold me a scruffy one for that a few months back For wave race in particular the difference is very noticeable, it still holds up really well, think I played it every evening for a week
  24. Regarding doing an RGB mod on an N64 I decided to buy a pre-modded one with the deblur, 15 bit colour and reset via pad features. Ive made a complete arse of a supposedly simple Saturn 50/60hz switch in the past and so decided to get it done by someone else Got it from here: https://www.oldskoolconsoles.com/product-page/rgb-modded-n64-grey-ntsc-t-w-n64rgb-with-deblur I’m using it on an LCD screen using an OSSC with a retrogamingcables RGB scart, it looks good but it’s always going to be an N64 In my opinion the deblur and 15 bit colour features are nothing exciting but the reset via pad is great for use with an everdrive
  25. I stopped using ebay for selling old games a couple of years ago when someone bought quite desirable Saturn games from me and had me post them to their own customers at multiple addresses across Europe as they had a website selling games at prices much higher than ebay I only realised when one person contacted me asking if they could buy from me direct in future Could have gone quite badly wrong for me, thankfully it didn’t
