  1. Im so glad I don’t suffer from OCD cos I have loads of half started things at this point that I know I’ll never complete. But then there are at least 3 unfinished things that are lurking at the back of my mind that I’ll probably go back and try to solve…maybe I do have OCD…

A small moment I thought about today is how cool it was to see Ellie find a box of tampons, and to show Joel the “find”. Not hiding it away from him like a shameful secret. It was fucking cool.

Oh, I thought she was grabbing ammo - I’m such a boy!

  3. I like the way this episode coloured Joel's character without him hardly in it.

Seeing him dealing drugs at the start of the show makes a lot more sense now. Also, when he turns up for the lunch date with Tess, he seems in much better shape than I was expecting at that period of time, but that just makes his relationship with Tess feel more real and her loss and now the loss of two friends he's been protecting even more powerful.

Ellie on the other hand is acting like a crazy psycho so interested to see where they are going with that.

And don’t forget Tehran, which is the best thing on the service.

Three episodes into this and it’s great stuff so far, really well constructed.

I came across this movie last night while flicking through the "leaving soon" section on Prime. I'd never heard of it before which surprised me as it stars Ben Mendelsohn and Ryan Reynolds. Went into it blind, which can often be a risky proposition with a film that clearly made little to no splash on its release back in 2015, but the gamble paid off! Both actors are on top form, Ben showing a very human side to addiction while Ryan oozes surface charm yet hints at hidden depths. The story is slight, as often road movies can be, but allows these actors plenty of space to work, they have great chemistry and I thoroughly enjoyed the time spent in their company.

ironwood was absolute bloat in its purest form. I’d say you could easily hack massive bits off both this and it’s prequel and make a much better and leaner single game without the filler.

I've just been doing that bit and I'm a little worried that this is the point that people say the game stops being like the last one and goes up a gear?

  7. Only two episodes in, but this just isn't sitting right with me yet. I kinda wish they'd not included so much of the videogame stuff, or at least been more subtle about its inclusion, as it takes me out of it immediately. Worse still, they evoke the game so successfully that it's stopping me from buying into Bella as Ellie - who, no matter how good a performance she gives, just doesn't have the right face (yeah I said it!). I'm finding it jarring between the horror (which is decent but needs to go harder) and the comedy (stepping on the hand broke the tension of that scene), the sets looking fake, not because they don't have the budget, but they are trying to look like the game. The lighting in the room with the sandwich was a prime example of this. Its just starting to feel a little bit like a missed opportunity...but its early doors and I'm all for a standout episode that'll pull me all the way in.

  8. Chainmail could also be figure hugging and you can get some nice light reflections off it, if you also had an undergarment it would remove the potential up-skirt problem that you may get as she is leaping about the place.

Gail Storm (first pass, probably subject to massive changes, including her name). But I almost like it. Her upper half is just too far backward, and there isn't enough of a suggestion of movement in the pose (possibly due to thing one). I like her hair for once. I love her boots. I do good boots (apart from that heel). But as Gail Storm she needs to be bigger and chunkier. She's a tank in the book, she isn't here. She's a berserker - I think I got some of that though. Hmmm. Maybe she doesn't need to be a tank...

Just some random thoughts. The skirt feels like it’s made from very stiff material, which may cause you some problems when putting her in more dynamic and compromising poses. If it had some give/flow to it you could use it to show movement, the form of her legs beneath it. That stance with a short skirt may fit the character, but it may be more interesting to play a feminine/ladylike pose against her strength? Maybe one leg slightly in front of the other? It’s a bit of a superhero trope but for good reason.

Quick sketch to help explain what I mean.

  10. Appreciate you thinking of me, but I’m kinda focused on trying to learn to draw and I don’t really have the free time for that even. I think I’m still a good few years off where I’d like to be with it. Want to take it a bit more seriously, toying with the idea of doing a local Life Drawing class next month. Good luck with the project tho, sounds very ambitious but if you stick with it I’m sure you’ll end up with something you’re proud of.
