I think it's more the implication that it's wrong. That companies shouldn't be doing it. That it's "bad". Or unique to this situation.

I wasn't suggesting any of that.

It's called PR. It's simply them pushing their narrative. They will always present their case in the best way. It will always be a twisted rose tinted version. As with Sony's. There's no "control" here as far as I'm aware. No suppression of anyone else's message. They're all big boys, they can all throw roses at us and shit at each other.

That's a good definition of the term "controlling the narrative" to me, I would only add trying to set it before your opponent etc. The state of play event is not the same thing - that's just advertising products. I'm not suggesting Microsoft has magic mind rays.

Saying it like that makes it sound reasonable. Saying they’re controlling the narrative makes it sound like a press release from the Sony Defence Force.

I'm a very odd Sony Defence Force considering my gaming is mostly Xbox and Nintendo when it has first-party exclusives I enjoy. Nope, I don't own a PS5.

Some may be less upset when they just look into what "controlling the narrative" means and would be expected of big corporations who want something.

And the narrative isn't going the way they want - Eurogamer apparently seem to think that Sony are the ones who get to OK the deal - it's not the authorities oh no, MS need to get Sony on-board - it's Sony who get to decide:

Here's the clip of Brad Smith and that envelope.

    How many has it sold?

No idea, but don't be too surprised if you see it  in the Japanese top 10 and the UK charts soon. It's still a popular franchise world wide (much of which was built before Rowling was known as a complete shit) and for some will have that new-gen feel.

I will stick to Avalanche's other classic Toy Story 3 which is backwards compatible on the Xbox.

  5. Founder of the dev studio behind "Metal Hellsinger" not looking happy about Microsoft saying one thing to developers and another to regulators.

For those who can't see the tweet for a variety of reasons Spencer said in the past that a game going on gamepass is good for future sales, internal documents say otherwise. As for MAUs, I think it's safe to say they are giving a false impression there...not necessarily a lie but lawyer friendly like "we have no intention to...".

Again, isn't it better to have a more competitive third place?

They don't need to buy another third-party publisher to do that. Love my series s and game pass but many will look at what first-party system sellers a console actually has (as well as what third-party support). Nintendo and Sony understand that and yadda yadda Yadda expect Mario Kart 9 close to a switch successor launch.

I think Microsoft have more development studios than Sony and Nintendo, they need to get appealing titles out sooner. This year's line-up looks good but all a bit late.

I can't say 40 quid for Prime seems like a bargain exactly. It's what, a higher res version of a 20 year old game with a few control options?

Still going to buy it obviously but when you consider how much the whole Trilogy cost on the Wii it's hard to justify why it's that price.

I could be wrong but it didn't look like just a higher-res version. Models looked better but I'm sure digital foundry will reveal all.
