In some ways yes and in some ways no. I mean 16nm is still used somewhat but it's TSMC who do it and it will be coming to end of life use. A 12nm process would also be done by TSMC and would be a nice earner for them given the fact that they cannot pump out 7nm chips with any speed at the moment. Nvidia probably have a good deal with them.

What is the problem with 7nm chips?

Why do you keep restarting it, out of interest? I don't really see the point of starting again, and going through grinding to get fuels and materials. Once you've got far enough in to the game getting huge amount of materials is really easy.

Usually just because it had been so long since I last played it that I couldn’t remember much, and because for quite a few updates my old saves were kind of fucked up with planets completely changing, bases disappearing, etc. Generally I’d start a new game with every major update since it came out.

  3. The problem with this game is that no matter how much they improve things or add new stuff, the core gameplay of gathering resources, fuel etc. is fucking tedious. I get so far with it (I think I’ve restarted like 5 times now) but I just get to a point where I’m bored and everything feels like busy work. Had some fine moments with it, but I think once you’ve experienced jetting around a few planets you’ve seen all the game has to offer.

Would you like to borrow my Switch?

Dude yours is louder than a washing machine according to you (you must be the only person who doesn’t own a near silent Switch) don’t be trying to palm it off ;)

We have no idea if this thing is even planned, let alone when it is due.

True, it’s just an intelligent estimate really based on the life cycle of Nintendo’s consoles and upgrades previously, so it’s unlikely there won’t be an upgraded model in the next financial year just based on that alone. I’m sure they’ll try and get it out this year in time for Christmas, but at latest by Mar 2022.

The Series S uses 100W when playing games, which it then dissipates as heat with its massive fan. The current Switch’s poky cooler dissipates 10W. I know ARM is more efficient but I doubt it’s going to be an order of magnitude leaner than an x86 console with equivalent graphics performance.

Xbox One S he said though.

Yeah, this is great, on first listen at least. It's not quite "fire and brimstone" Cave (which I miss a bit) but it's really menacing and no-one else sounds like this.

It feels like the third part of the journey he's been on over the last few years - I find Skeleton Tree still so raw it's hard to listen to, Ghosteen sounds like a man emerging from trauma, this sounds like him rediscovering a part of who he was but still obviously deeply affected by everything that's happened. I've admired Cave for most of my life but for him to take what he's been through and fold it back into his art like this absolutely floors me, it really does.

Really well put, a true artist is he.

Aargh, so we have a Lite and just ordered a Switch for my birthday. I should cancel it and wait for this Pro version, yes?

Nah enjoy it now we have no idea when this thing is due.

  9. What you also have to consider is that if they’re releasing it this year, or even the next financial year, it’s going to release side by side with Breath of The Wild 2 or Mario Kart 9, or both.

  10. Does anyone own a pulse red controller? It’s between that and white at the moment, red not available until 12th Mar though.

edit. We went with white, and some 2200 mAh rechargeable battery packs :)

On Game pass? None. Although all the new ones are there but personally they are shite compared to other racing games.

Burnout Paradise Remastered is your best bet if you fancy an arcade racer.

Or the all beating Forza Horizon 4 obvioulsy.

Yes I’ve played loads of FH4 but no doubt I’ll play it again, I’ll play NFS Hot Pursuit when it arrives on GP.

One of the games I’ve got on my list is Dead Space 2, loved the original but never played  the sequel.

Absolutely. Never had any ounce of early adopter regret nearly 5 months on. Fantastic console. Everything I play on it just feels much better. Hardware is great too well made bit of kit. Impressed from the initial opening of the box to setting up the console and then booting up my first game on it. Enjoy everyone getting theirs soon! :)

Can you sign in using the app on your phone, with the initial set up I mean?

Mine has actually just shipped today! I hope that the case with you're one too!

Pumped to be getting a series X and Gamepass, as I was far less of an Xbox gamer in the prior generation, but things are looking far, far better this time around!

OMG I’ve just checked and mine has been shipped also - glad I didn’t pay £20 or whatever for that priority shipping now

    oh and ...

    :omg:

Yeah, I'll say it every chance I can get - an LG OLED for your current Xbox One is a bigger and better upgrade than a Series X for a 1080p/LCD screen. Even more so whilst we have no true exclusives.

Well it won’t be long now before they announce this years models :eyebrows:
