  1. This was not good. Emmerich clearly has lost his touch for making these sorts of films. ID, TDAT and 2012 were all great, fun films. ID2 on the other hand was such a disappointment and this is even worse. Its like there was no script, only bullet points of things that had to be in the film and they just made it up on the day. The dad dies. How? Why? Errr let’s just film it. We need a helicopter to explode as the rocket takes off. How? Errr well it errr flys into the giant wall of water instead of away from it cos it needs to circle upwards cos errr otherwise it won’t explode. There a gang of thieves. What do they do? They errr steal stuff for reasons. There as just so many scenes that don’t make sense. The whole getting oxygen thing doesn’t make sense till it’s actually shown why they had to do that. No one knows when they’ll launch the nukes, cos even though one of the casts ex husband is the one launching them he doesn’t tell them anything. Except just before the climax of the film they somehow know they have ten minutes before they’ll be launched. Ok then. The cast we’re dull in every scene. “I can’t swim” as slight chubby man struggles to stand in 3 foot of water. It’s almost like they filmed this whole thing on a blue screen and the actors had no idea what they were reacting to. So many moments when a character should be afraid like when there is a giant space monster approaching them fast and just calmly says “what is that?”. Even the disaster stuff wasn’t as good as the previous films. I’ve seen youtubers make more coherent films using an iPhone than what we got here and it’s a shame as this could easily have been a super fun movie that explored an interesting idea. Instead we get things happening to hit a bullet point or a trope with no real thought if it is even needed.
  2. I wonder if it's the filtering. Normally when a texture is further away theres different filtering which means it doesn't look like a werid jaggy mess at a distance. This doesn't have that so you have all this detail in the distance moving at a fast speed and its just too much noise.
  3. Honestly I don’t mind CT2, if anything it’s the drab looking city that bothers me more. I guess the jumping doesn’t really add much and in some ways takes away the purity. It’s like comparing Burnout 2 to Butnout revenge. One has you avoiding vehicles as a skill and the other just has you smashing through them so I guess being able to jump just adds in something that takes away slightly from the original.
  4. Almost any Sega arcade game that gets a follow up. They just nail it so perfectly the first time that any small changes ruins it. Crazy Taxi 2 added jumping and more passangers, ruined it. Super Monkey Ball 2 added bumpers, ruined it. Sega Rally 2, just not as good as the first.
  5. Instead of buying another console could remote play be an option? Have the console on in one room but stream it to another?
  6. I mean he did say a couple of weeks. Perhaps @murray could help us nail down how long exactly a couple is.
  7. Just because you can, doesn't me you should. Reminds me of the early 2000s where developers found the bloom option and put it on everything. They could have done some very subtle stuff, a bit like Quake for the saturn which had fancy 3d lights for the projectiles and things but this is like a complete rewrite in terms of look and tone.
  8. Can't see why it would. What i suggest saying is that you have no issue paying the VAT, but you did not agree to their fee and ask them to prove that you signed and agreed to their admin fee for delivering your product. Obviously they won't and then they'll remove it. Might take a go or two depending on the CS person you get, because as usual its mostly outsourced to people who are just following a guide and can't deviate from it.
  9. Sometimes you have to force the issue. They now just say no, instead reply back saying their delivery contract is with analogue, not you and then all of a sudden they’ll remove it. If all these companies won’t deal with you when it’s shipped by someone else then they can also not deal with you when they want to collect money.
  10. I’m pretty sure Outpost kaloki x was an xbla launch title and at least at the time was a nice little game.
  11. No one watching this then? I really enjoyed it, really love the animation style which has lots of anime and psone game feels at times.
  12. Pft, GBA, how about 32x? Sorry it's a facebook link. https://www.facebook.com/groups/DreamcastReloaded/permalink/4995967620447165/
  13. For the minimum price of £7 there is absolutely no reason not to get this. Even if just 1 game interests you it's worth it for Ukraine support alone and i can guarantee there is going to be more than 1 game that will interest you here. More people need to jump on this.
  14. I'd go for a box, dreamcast games and psone i don't even think fit large letter, so just go for a box for the most protection. Also add a bit of padding to inside where the disc is to stop it coming loose and sliding around getting scratched. Don't tape the disc down, it'll probably rip off the print. To stop the games smashing about in the box use some old amazon packaging and just place the game in the middle of all the squashed up paper making sure it's covered at all sides. Once you close the box shake it a little, you shouldn't be able to hear it moving. If you do, it'll probably get damaged.
  15. Is it possible to back up the 3DS memory, so i can have two consoles that are indentical even down to their street passes?
  16. Yeah I wonder if during that first launch year of the Ps2 of the Dreamcast could have held on as it did have the better looking and playing games for a bit there. Also the Dreamcast didn’t do too badly all things considered and probably would have ended up at GameCube levels rather than Wii U.
  17. Remember when codemasters released the same football games except each version was themed to a team like Man U or Chelsea?
  18. There’s an emulator for arcade light guns that does just that.
  19. Yeah at that age games can be quite tough because they barely give them time to understand the controls or whats going on. But yes, Mario Kart is perfect as it has auto steer and accelerate on it. I'd also recommend Mario maker, making your own levels with no enemies so they can just have fun collecting coins and then slowly introduce more difficult things. I'd also say consider getting them a child sized controller because the normal ones are just too large for their hands.
  20. How much power of the Dreamcast can indie developers tap into, as we haven't really seen many 3D games but they do exist.
  21. How much did you pay for that? I got mine years ago before they went for silly prices.
  22. Thanks for always posting these. I’m fed up of Hotukdeals racing to post the deals as early as possible which means by the time the deal becomes active it’s no longer on their pages as hot so it gets missed. So again thanks for posting these when they’re actually active to get!
  23. I don't think that argument is stupid, i never buy cart only, as i like the box and everything else and not just loose carts around the room. But at the same time if i can get the game for cheap, and then get a box and manual made elsewhere for cheap compared to a CiB copy thats a fortune then i'd rather do that. As long as the look and feel is the same to me thats all that matters. I certainly get not wanting to dilute the market with fakes though, but i think thats a slightly different discussion and yeah you don't want to pay a fortune for something that is bootleg in some way, but just making your own repro boxes so you don't pay £150 for a piece of printed cardboard that is in now way special or hard to recreate i certainly think isn't an issue at all.
  24. Yeah all the people moaning, for £30 im sure you're getting at least 1 game out of at least 36 a year that basically covers the cost of the sub, ignoring online play. Certainly i've gotten more value either because of games like this that i probably wouldn't have bought but can try now and probably enjoy for a few hours at least.
