Get it filled. Also, did you pick up Yes Man Kerblaam from the Elvis fight? If so, you can fill your bar very quickly by repeatedly using that move then cancelling when an enemy is dazed.

I'm on him, too. I got him down to about one or two hits of being beaten, then he got me. The only thing that's helped me is letting him get me down to level one. That way he only makes one duplicate. Still an absolute bitch, though. The guides say to make sure you go in with god reels and a full god hand. I have none!
  3. As in a good quality mp3? Yes please!
  4. I Am From Further North Than You - The Wedding Present. It's just... perfect. The fact there seems to be one too few choruses in there just makes me want to listen again... and again.
  5. Hmm, I don't have much time. But... About 7 hours played, and I can't see it picking up. The battles are awful. Set a few gambits up and you're literally doing nothing for the majority of the small monsters. That's not even an exaggeration. I'm yet to see if the bosses get challenging/interesting, but asides from the status changes actually being any use (for once), I can't see it happening. And as for the grinding I keep hearing about? Well, combined with the above, this is awful. No game should ever make you do this. I'm considering trading it in while I can still get a good price. I can't bear to play it when God Hand is sitting there, begging to be put back in. (To the PS2, I don't put it into my anus.)

To those tiring of this in the early stages, keep going. The game actually gets easier in a strange way, like Ninja Gaiden. I'm on the Stage 6 boss now, this game is fantastic.

Hmm, well the more I play the more excellent it is, and the more I feel at one with my character as it were. I'm on the Stage 5 boss now. If I saw myself fighting like I do now a week ago, I wouldn't believe it. I'm really looking forward to playing through the whole thing again once I finish, which I don't think I've ever done before. The only slight niggle is the difficulty. I find myself getting to Level Die a little too easily, and no way can I handle Level Die.
  8. Is it just me, or does this program always start brilliantly, and then fade badly? That presenting bit seemed utterly pointless. At least the second part of it, anyway. That said, it's easily the program I look forward to most. The Britain's Hardest bit had me howling.

So what's the betting that blonde lad turns out to be Jack's son? "Get me satellite coverage of my son's haircut, now!"

I gave up quite early on in Viewtiful Joe and I'm doing fine on this. When you learn to watch your enemies rather than what your character is doing helps a lot.

I seem to get to level 3, then quickly up to die, because doing the dodge where you press up makes you level up quickly. die is ridiculous.

Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed Zelda. But I think I died once in the entire thing, and that was some really, really poor play on my part. You are always the same. The game 'rewards' your skills by becoming a lot harder! Like I mentioned briefly, it means that you can never reach a comfort zone. I both love and hate it. Like Ninja Gaiden, though, the sense of satisfaction for finishing off a hard section is often fantastic.

What, did you play on Easy or something? You know the level in the bottom left? The higher that is, the harder the enemies are, and the more of them there are. The levels are 1,2,3 and die. 1 and 2 aren't too bad, but I get pretty badly pasted on the other 2. The game's hard mode sees you on level die for the duration. I have to say, I'm surprised there aren't more people playing this. Aren't you all sick of how easy games are now? How you have to play two-thirds of anything before it gets anything like challenging? The new Zelda was a joke.

I'm about half way through stage 3. This game is huge. At the moment, I seem to keep switching between absolutely loving it and punching my own cock in frustration. The better I get, the harder the game gets. The more you dodge successfully, and the more you fight without getting hit, the more your enemies "level up". Basically, you will never reach a comfort zone with this game. And the higher levels are punishing. Even the weakest enemies will take half your life bar in a second. And when I reach the top level I lose my concentration in all the excitement, and this is a game where you can barely afford to blink. I'm currently on a level where I need to fight five relentlessly attacking midgets.

    Mclusky

Ha, I thought that would get a rise. Without writing an essay, I mean... I really can't be bothered. I'm sure you know what I mean without me telling you that there's loads of post rock, indie rock etc that I love.
  17. This is quite possibly their best album yet.

    Mclusky

I'm not a big rock fan, I think it's for the most part dire and uninspired. But the vastly overlooked Mclusky are fantastic. Relentlessly angry but never forgetting to put it against a good tune, I'd put Mclusky Do Dallas up with Rated R and Songs For The Deaf by QOTSA as one of the few rock albums which truly delivers. I'd implore anyone who hasn't to check them out. Such a shame they died. SADFACE
  19. It's a tie between About you by JMC and How Can I love You (If You Won't Lie Down) by Silver Jews.
  20. I'm not hugely into electronic music, but both Ulrich Schnauss albums are incredible.
  21. Nah, I saw them at Birmingham. Perhaps Cold War Kids were "off" that day. Or they'd been replaced with highly sophisticated jazz robots.
