Netflix is becoming akin to a jigsaw shop where most of the puzzles have missing pieces. I was about to start watching 1899 the other day (started on season 3 of Jack Ryan on Prime instead), but doubt I'll bother now. One of my pleasures over Christmas has been watching all three existing seasons of For All Mankind on Apple TV. If it had been shitcanned after one season I wouldn't have done so. Having an archive of ongoing and complete shows is equally important to shoving new stuff out all the time. The expectation that viewers will want (or have time) to watch everything as soon as it lands is misguided.

It's not out until December 2024, IIRC.

Over Christmas I've listened to a couple of supernatural / horror tinged programmes on the radio - The Willows, an adaptation of the Algernon Blackwood story, and Hunting Ghosts, a podcast episode where Mark Gatiss and the Rev Richard Coles discuss MR James and hauntings . Also, over the past few months I've also been listening to The Battersea Poltergeist and The Uncanny - podcasts on BBC sounds about real life hauntings and other supernatural events. Uncanny is ok, but a little lightweight at times. The radio dramas are generally pretty good though - atmospheric in a way that you don't get with a TV adaptation. The Willows stars Bill Pullman and Julian Sands (the latter of whom sounds uncannily like Steven Toast at times :D).
