Should hopefully be receiving this today.

It seems like an absolute eternity that us pal gamers have had to wait for this game.

Hurry up, postman!

i am reliably informed that this is waiting for me at home along with Oddworld courtesy of gameplay. i played the demo the other day and liked it lots. the camo system is new and fun, and i like the decision to remove the radar forcing you to concentrate on your enviroment more. it's stunning looking too, and stylish as hell. the review in OPS2M was brilliant and really got me looking forward to it.

Played the demo for the first time last night and loved it. Looks stunning and even though I'm usually wholly crap at being all stealthy like I'll persevere.

The removal of the radar is good for me as it heightens the tension a fair bit. Unfortunately I'll have to wait until Saturday at the earliest to pick up a copy.

Friday night is coop PES night with neighbour then MGS3 on Saturday. Weekend shaping up very nicely then. :o

Gona pick this up on Saturday. Its strange theres been little hype about it, for MGS 2 there was loads, and all GAME boxes had 'Limited stock, pre order or you WILL be disappointed'

i think enthusiasm for this series has died a little since PSone days. it actually says a lot about gaming today in that the mainstream would embrace a title like Metal Gear back then, with all it's idiosyncrasies, but now it's probably viewed as a bit quirky and niche.

Getting this tomorrow (yay payday).

I'm a bit excited. But I've got the gym and a doctors appointment before I can get any thorough playing of it. Boo.

I think everything is pointing to it being left out Legendary. The demo doesn't have it and OPS2M say no 60hz in their review.

However they also mention 60hz is in for PAL GT4 so.....

It's full screen anyway, judging by the demo so we should be OK.

It being full screen is nice and all, but the lack of 60hz is a bit of a poor show considering how long they spent on the conversion.

According to a post earlier today over at ntsc-uk there is no 60Hz mode. On the upside, the PAL version has some extra bits and pieces and some glitches from the US version have been fixed.

There is no 60hz mode, but it is optimised and full screen. It looks fantastic.

Its bastard hard though, on normal.

Someday you go through the rain
Someday you feed on a tree frog
This ordeal, the trial to survive
For the day we see new light!

Are you referring to the graphics? Lots of people have said they're great, but I just can't see it myself. I know it's nice the way the bushes rustle as you go past and stuff, but to be honest I'm not particularly impressed with the visuals.

I dunno, maybe I was just expecting too much.

Ordered Monday, arrived today. Gameplay never let me down. :o Just done the intro, sweet jesus, this team are talented. It's beautiful and just oozes class.

I could'nt believe *that* intro after choosing 'I liked MGS2!'. Didn't know what was happening. And now to climb that tree...

Are Gameplay better than Simply for getting stuff to us before or on release day? I ask as I've got both GT4 and Res 4 on preorder with Simply but I could be persuaded to move over if there's enough evidence......

I'll be sure to select that I liked MGS2 also then...........

I didn't find normal that hard and I'm mostly rubbish.

Doing everything stealthily can be quite a challenge but if all else fails you can usually shoot your way out.

Unless they've changed it for the PAL release.

I did it on easy - was pretty entertaining and occasionally challenging (or maybe I'm shit). Anyway - I got to the end, which is surely the point of these games.
