ive just been watching season 8 and my gof how does it stay so fresh? I cant think of any other show that can get away with things so wacky and stupid as episode long day dreams, tachos that poop ice cream or dance contests.

But it works, somehow it all fits together and works perfectly and feels right in the south park universe.

Southpark, looking back started off extreamly crappy, bad audio and video mixed with a lack of any plot or dialogue, but now look at it, it is one of the best shows ever, i just wish the hype hadnt died down as it so deserves that hype now for being just bloody bloody good.

Last night i saw the ninja episode where they all buy weapons and pretend to be ninjas and it was just so funny because a lot of it was a parody of anime, such as the little songs that play with a bit of engrish to the names and the animation given to characters.

Just brilliant, i must download that song now which is in this title thread.

But yeah, southpark is still one of the best things on tv at the moment.

It's the freshest. They seem to cover something different in each episode. Not only does Good Times With Weapons have one awesome plot with excellent animation but the pay off at the end is fantastic with the parents comments about cartman and completely ignoring the violence.

Gotta love the most recent ones though.

Something Wall-Mart This Way Comes and Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset are particularily good. Seeing Butters dressed in a bear suit prodding Paris Hilton's cooch after she passed out on his bed is something that makes me laugh all the time.

Just finished series 7 this morning on the bus (i've been sticking an episode on my phone each day for some morning entertainment). It was the very apt Canadian Christmas episode.
I watched the Cartmans hand is J-Lo episode the other day, how fucked up is that, and the Cancelled episode where Earth turns out to be a reality TV show.
South Park is constantly fresh and always hits the nail on the head, even if the nail is all fucked up and warped. Parker and Stone are geniuses.

Actually for the past few seasons its gotten fantastic. When the hype died down, it allowed them to be more open about what they could do.

Most of the episodes from Season 8 have been great, Season 7 had tons of decent ones too.. season 6 had a bunch as well.

I'd say 5-8 is where it hit it's prime. Scot Tenerman Must Die from season 5 is almost without equal from any show.

I've not watched that one in ages. I do remember doubling up in pain cause of laughing too hard.

Cartman never gets boring... One ace sequence was in the 'Cancelled' episode was where Kyle had to put his finger up Cartmans arse, and everytime he gets close Cartmand cracks out a fart. The sequence was so obvious and lengthy it really shouldn't have worked, but it did, and did so really well.

Another classic is Cartmans Funland (can't remember the name), the scene where he's travelling on the rollercoaster crying with joy is comedy gold.

it was perfectly placed that scene. Even Chef agreed by saying "it's not funny anymore" followed by "alright it's funny again".

Yeah it's good. I wasn't that big a fan, but the gf loves it. Dangerously so. It's good EXCEPT when they try to make a point. Probably because they come across as witless whenever that happens. Otherwise- funny.

Making a point is the best thing about it. I heart satire.

but the new episodes have worked on this, for example the ban smoking episode where kyle constantly says 'Lets just be honest now otherwise we know what'll happen where the towns people will mob together against the cigerate makers then there'll be a fight and then we'll say what we've learned. etc etc

Have to agree with what's been said; I've been watching S8 on my PC and it is bloody brilliant. So many standout episodes, they really hit everything. Favourites so far are the Jeffersons episode, which is just HILARIOUS.

"Ignorance...you're just being ignorant..."

And the scenes with the cops, I was like 'I can't believe they're getting away with this! This is great!'

"..it's just...every time I see a black man with more money than me in the street I just wanna vomit my gizzards in the gutter..."

:o

And thanks to the dance episode, "Y'all got served!" is a common phrase beween me and my bro now. But you have to pronoun it "derved"

I just watched the psychic detective episse and it was just as good: "It's a copycat of the copycat of the copycat killer! My God, when will it ever end!"

Wonderful.

The best one was AWESOME-O with Cartman having to pretend to be Butters's robot, and having to do whatever he wanted. Including placing supositories (sp?) up Butters's butt.

"LAME!!!"

"You got F***** up the Ass" was cool too, when he goes to recruit the other dancers and he goes to the goth kids.

"I'm not conforming to your rules man"
"Yeah, and I'm not going to conform to some "dance" rules either"
"I'm the biggest non-conformist of all, I'm not doing it!"
"Well, I'm such a non-conformist that I'm not going to conform with any of you guys. I'm in"

Series 1-4 were pretty crap nowadays. They used to be good, but compared to the later series they suck. Series four (i think anyway) in particular was really awful. I missed a lot of episodes from series 4-6, although managed to download several of them of the net.

Favorites are Awesome-o, the J-lo one, Casabonita, jeffersons, lemmiwinks (hurry up and make a sequel!!) and there was a LOTR based one from season 6 that ruled too.
