Congratulations to Jamin & Johnny on promotion.
Such a close season which made every match critical, enjoyed them all despite the ammount of defeats I suffered.

Mystery of the season has to be my results against Fry

Just have to say well done to Scratch in our fixtures that we played the other day. I certainly wasn't at my best, but taking nothing away from Scratch's performances as he fully deserved the win and more than likely deserved 4 points over the 2 games rather than just 3.

It's been a great season. Well done to Jamin as he has been consistently the best player in the league and fully deserved the title. He'll have a real good chance of going straight up to the Prem next season as well I would imagine.

Petey's Season Review

Well, what can I say. An amazing finale to yet another season. The closest I've seen in my few years in the League.
Relegation and Playoffs wide open going into the final games.

Going back to mid October, the expectations were high from all, noone knew what lay before them, or how Fifa would influence the results on the field.
I thought it would be the toughest season yet for me, with so many decent teams in the league, both coming up from League 2 and being demoted from the Chumpionship, as well as those already in League One.

JaminTastic - 1st - 63pts - 76GD
Who would have thought that the new whipping boy, Jamin' would have been so dominating in his first season, chucked in in the mid leagues while most other newbies are stuck in the lower leagues.
He showed that he could mix in with the 'big boys' after his opening fixtures against Scratch. This 'unknown quantity' had set the standard for the season and gave other managers a kick, showing that it wouldn't be an 'easy' season.
His Galatasaray side saw him never off top spot all season, winning week in, week out. Only 3 dropped points all season and four 5+ goal thrashing, which included a 10-0 drubbing of Boobni in week 3.
His only loss all season would end up being to his nearest rival, JohnnyArgos who grabbed a 1-0 win.
A deserved winner of the League One title who will go a long way in the Chumpionship, and we could even see him in the top flight in seasons to come.

JohnnyArgos - 2nd - 49pts - 38GD
The man who was denied Chumpionship football last season after a playoff final loss. He made amends this season though and cemented him automatic promotion spot with 2 games still to play.
He couldn't match up to Jamin' though, who had run this league ragged.
He started the season slowly with only 5 points from 12 and sitting table, but after the early stutters he went off on an amazing run claiming 7 wins from 8 (only losing to Jamin') and sticking him up in second spot.
Only 3 losses all season to Craig on opening day, Jamin' the league champion and a closing lose to then bottom Scratch.
He finally gets his wish to play in the Chumpionship and I think he will see himself playing football in the second tier of Rllmuk Football for a good few seasons to come.

Hereticboy - 3rd - 37pts - 3GD
Craig was the best of the rest in the League, falling 12 points short of second place but on top of the playoffs.
A fourth season with Sporting Clube has again seen him finish towards the top of table after an up and down season that has seen Craig fall in and out of love for the 'Beautiful Game'
The start of the season was unbelievable, 12 games - 8 wins - 4 draws - 0 loses. He looked set to challenge for title or even second spot but then the Jamin' fixture lured its ugly head. 2 loses saw his Sporting side lose their momentum and go on a losing streak, losing 5 out of 6. What a turn around!
He finished with two loses against Fry, his nearest challenger, but his blistering start saw him claim 3rd place and top the playoffs.
(More importantly, he won the mini-Portuguese league, and there's no greater accomplishment than that)

Dewranger - 4th - 35pts - 20GD
The mystery man of the league, never seen in the dressing room, but on the field he could perform some days and not on others.
Starting the season, rock bottom after losing 4 from 4. But from there he went on a run of 6 wins from 8. Leaving him solid mid-table with a shout of the playoffs, if he could get his results together.
His ending to the season saw some thrashings of Craig 4-1 and 5-2 as well as losing to relegation fighter Rokforce and a massive 7-0 lose by Goldbricker.
Faces Fry in the playoffs, if he brings his team along he could be in with a shout of getting into the Chumpionship.

Fry Crayola - 5th - 30pts - -21GD
Fry finished in a solid 5th position after another solid season, he made it to the playoffs this time round after missing out by 3 points last season.
A steady start for Fry, who managed two wins and loses in the opening 4 fixtures.
An uneventful mid-season for Fry saw no major streaks evolve, steady results, constantly bringing in the points.
But, unfortunately, he will be remembered for his results against Scratch, two massive 4-0 and 8-0 loses saw everybody's head spin, Scratch on a comeback charge?
Two final day wins against Craig saw Fry take 5th place in the table and he faces off against Dewranger in the playoffs.

Sladie - 6th - 29pts - 8GD
The 'Leagues Nicest Man' managed to snatch the last playoff spot from Petey on the last day of the season.
After relegation from the Chumpionship last season he wanted to bounce back quickly.
But his start the season could have gone better, only 5 points from 18 after 6 games. But 2 wins against Scratch put him back on track to grab a playoff place, or even fight for auto-promotion.
But his next 10 matches only saw 2 wins against Petey and Dewranger left the playoff places as definite possibility.
Finishing the season with 3 wins from 4 saw him push his way into the final playoff places, knocking Petey down to 7th by 3 points.
He now faces Hereticboy in the playoffs, its all to play for with both sides on and off performances.

Petey - 7th - 26pts - -4GD
Petey went into season 19 with a pessimistic view, after seeing the quality of the teams in the league. Hoping to avoid relegation this season, but finding himself both getting off the foot of the table and battling to get into the playoffs. (Along with everyone else)
Two opening day win against Dewranger shocked Petey as much as anyone else, sticking him 2nd in the league. But he wouldn't stay there for long.
He gained 2 more wins from the next 4 before going on a major mid-season losing streak, not gaining a single point in 8 matches. Breaking his duck against Sladie with a 1-1 draw.
This streak saw him sitting bottom, but 4 wins from 6 including a 7-1 hammering of Rokforce saw him battle his way back to mid-table before facing Jamin' on the last day, losing twice.
A better mid-season could have seen Petey get into the playoffs, but that's the price paid for poor performances.

Boobni - 8th - 26pts - -38GD
Boobni faces his first real season in League One, after being chucked in at the deep end in the Chumpionship, finishing bottom.
A good start saw him in the upper half of the table with 7 points from 12. Before facing Jamin' in week 3, two losses with a 10-0 drubbing saw his goal difference shoot down, but he still sat mid-table. A solid income of points through out the season saw Boobni avoid a relegation battle but not make his way up the table. 4 loses in a row against Fry and JohnnyArgos saw him sit just above relegation with 6 games to go. 3 wins and 3 loses in his final games got him up to 8th in the table and safe from relegation.
Another season in League One for Boobni, wouldn't be surprised to see the lad up at the top end of the table next season.

Goldbricker - 9th - 25pts - -24GD
A final day survival last season had kept him in League One by goal difference. This season it was only 1 point, Goldbricker is definitely a survival specialist. Will he ever get relegated?
A solid start to the season saw two wins, draws and losses from his opening 6 games.
A good solid season through from Goldbricker, taking away some points from every pair of fixtures except for playing Jamin' and JohnnArgos.
But no doubles over anyone slowly pushed him into a relegation fight, his form wasn't the best losing almost every other game.
His final day 1-0 win over Dewranger was ultimately what saved him, after getting beaten 7-0 at Dewranger's place.
So Goldbricker sees another season in League One (just) lets see if he can pull it together next season and get himself away from relegation and up into the playoffs.

Rokforce - 10th - 24pts - -14GD
Petey's Sparring partner couldn't save himself this season. Since winning the conference in Season 16 he's always been up there fighting for playoffs and auto-promotion. But this season it wasn't to be, his finish to the season didn't do him any favours, after a mediocre start.
7 points from 12, things looked good for Rokforce, another season of challenging a the top end looked on the cards. But not winning in the next 5 didn't help his cause and pushed him down towards the relegation zone.
Only 1 win against bottom of the table, Scratch did show that things weren't going well.
The big games against Petey didn't go his way this season, losing 2-1 and 7-1.
The last 3 games saw him up against the to-be champion, a playoff fighter and another relegation fighter. But results didn't go his way, only 2 wins from the 6.
Another point anywhere else in the season would have saved him on goal difference, but it wasn't there.
Rokforce will play League Two football next season, but I can see him battling for the title and he will be back very soon.

Scratch - 11th - 19pts - -27GD
Scratch never got going this season, his Marseille side never worked for him. After promotion last season, the momentum should have taken him on to a playoff or mid-table finish for him. But after an opening day smashing from Jamin' he never really recovered.
The poorest start in the league saw no points from 8 games and inevitably saw him prop up the table.
3 points against Boobni and Rokforce gave him some hope, but the damage was already done and a blistering finish to the season was the only way he could save himself.
A ray of hope and easily the shock of the season was his double over Fry with 4-0 and 8-0, but even then survival would have been difficult.
Only a draw and a win from his last 4 saw him relegated back to League Two, but the 3 points saw him pushed up above Gambit and off the bottom.
Back to League Two, can he battle his way back through the playoffs or even auto-promotion next season.

Gambit - 12th - 16pts - -18GD
Gambit, relegated from the Chumpionship last season, looked as though he could battle to get back but his start to the season didn't help him at all. Only a point on opening day, followed by 2 wins from the next 4 didn't help him into mid-table.
Two more losses against Jamin' pushed him down into a relegation fight, alongside Scratch, Goldbricker and Rokforce.
His next win was against Scratch, where he got all 6 points but his lack of results against other teams in the league was his demise.
After his double against Scratch, he only gained 1 more point from 8 games. Ultimately relegating him again into League Two.
So a double relegation from Gambit, lets hope the rot has stopped and that promotion is just around the corner next season in League Two.

The Awards for Greatness will follow later on

Thank you everyone for another cracking season, has been my most enjoyable by far, the banters been excellent and the results have been ... unusual to say the least.
Congratulations to Jamin' and Johnny, both played excellently this season.
Well done to the playoff spot holders, all the best to whoever goes up.
Commiserations to Gambit, Scratch and Rokforce, will miss you all next season, hoping you can all make it back soon.
To the rest of you I will see you all next season, ready for more Fifa madness.
Thanks again for the cracking season chaps.
All the best.

Just waiting for Gambit to confirm the results.

Very happy with finishing sixth in a very inconsistant season. I wish I would've switched to my 4-3-3 formation sooner as it improved my game no end. I knew I had to be something different after my truly awful showing against Petey - still can't believe I got 4 points from those games! This has been the best and closest season - thank to you all for your contributions!

I'm dropping out of the league next season because of other stuff - new job, looking for a new house kinda stuff. So Heretic gets a BYE into the final of the playoffs! Good lukc next season, and see most of you in BAP!

I'll be doing all those stats etc all the way through next season, only started midway through this one and lost all previous games stats.

P.S. Nice work Johnny on the team of the season! ;)

If only there was some easy way of recording them besides pen and paper.

My last three games had a stunning shots per goal ratio: 8 shots, 6 on target, 5 goals. The other shot on target was going in until it hit my own player who was offside. :OMG:

Yeah, I suppose if I had a phone that coped with more than 100 pixels at a time, that'd be an option. Maybe I should upgrade just for the league.

And social status!

Anyway, I'm now really happy that Sladie's dropped out. He took points off me! If I beat Dewranger I get an easier tie!

(I won't beat Dewranger)
