As long as the duds get filtered out eventually, I guess. ;)

I'm testing it now and it didn't work anyway.

I really shouldn't edit files.

(the electricant is in the game!)

i'll come.
look into how to activate alltalk, it might be useful if we just want to piss about and chat to each other rather than just tactical speak.

for the newbs-
V for voice chat with your microphone
Y to open chatbox and type a message to anyone
U to open chatbox and type to your team
when dead, you can only communicate with other dead players.

Might be an idea to all join the same side for a bit and discuss how to use the server.

I don't think it lets you join one side if the other side has fewer players, but maybe we could ... call some kind of truce (which will last about thirty seconds before we start sticky bombing each other to bits :)). I'll be on in about fifteen minutes.

Well there you go. I thought I'd come on and see how it's going but the server is full.
We'll be booking places for this Thursday then.

Of the 24 players on just now, about four of them are from rllmuk. I think. It feels like playing on any random server, really. Maybe a password would be best?

I'm definitely putting a password on on Thursday. Stealth came in and dominated it.

Yeah by the time I left it was getting taken over.

I also have to get my headset going, the mic wasn't going right.

I would favour alltalk for the Rllmuk server too.

Does anyone know how to do these things? I don't. The guides seem to want Mani on, and that seems to be for CSS.

Right. All Talk is on, auto team balance is off, password is sabrewulf.

Note the password, it's obviously important.

Anyone want to have another look? I'm going to try it now.

Vimster and I just had a proper bit of play around, without any bullies coming in to kick sand in our faces.

It was good to have a snoop about actually. Plus I've never used the voice chat on here, it's pretty good.

I think locking is a bit extreme and will just make the server empty for most of the week.
a whole clan suddenly appearing is pretty rare, but the server was empty to start with so it was an ideal place for them really.
To me they seemed lower average skill. To be honest, the only difficulties I had was learning the new maps. Once you're used to them its easy.
unless youre having particular problems with Mouse and keyboard. practise practise practise. by shovign yourself in the deep end. you dont get better by playing with incompetents

An alternative is something i've seen on some public forums with paying members - reserved slots - I think it'd be something worth looking into.

other commands to look up -
rock the vote, or rtv - allows people to vote for another map if they hate it
timeleft - server map time remaining, or number of rounds left,
thetime - just tells you what the time is.

theres a bunch of other crazy things like turning the gravity down post round or whatever.

might want to look at good lengths for individual maps as well. obviously some games take longer than others and long stalemates can be annoying.

theres also birthday hats for celebrating. wonder if thats included by default?

in my experience as for respawn times etc, the default settings are the best. anyone who disagrees with that is stupid and wrong.

also I dont mean to be anal but did you check with rllmuk to check it was ok to call the server that? i just think its important to be considerate about that sometimes

All good points Chris. I'll go and apologise to rllmuk now. The server is currently unpassworded. If that's a word.

Sorry I couldn't make it last night, I thought I'd do a quick reboot to try and speed my computer up a bit before playing. Ended up doing ours of check disk at boot. :)

Theres some server-mods with one click installs on the admin panel. I'll try and find out what they are and if they have any use.

We used to have reserved slots on an old AHL server we had which worked great.

For the time being, if the server is full and you want a place. Look at the player list and PM one of us who's on the server, we'll kick a random and free up a space.
