Not seen this mentioned anywhere else yet:
http://www.pompomgames.com/astrotripper.htm http://www.gametrailers.com/player/41656.html Looks like a worthy update to the excellent PC original. Weird that it's not coming to XBLA though. I guess Mutant Storm Empire bombed. |

The webpage is offline for some reason.
Didn't PomPom get in bed with Microsoft at one point? I'm sure I remember them being interviewed about having 360 dev kits even though they were an indie, and how great MS were to indies. |

That was probably before Microsoft changed the profit split for developers earlier this year. Can't think of any other reason why they would so obviously shun XBLA this time round. Not sure what's up with that site. Maybe it's being hammered at the moment. Trailer still works though. It looks good for a download title. Not especially revolutionary, but if it captures the essence of the original it should be a decent game.

Hmm, this is a surprise. Certainly looks like a pretty faithful remake. Can't see me wanting to buy it again.

I would certainly buy this if the price was right. The music on that vid was amazing too, bit of lush IDM.

I preferred Space Tripper to Mutant Storm, I'm more of a level-progression man than a score man.

Looks really, really nice.
I assume by "soon" they mean it'll be out this year? |
