Nothing to do with GTA 4 other than he believed that “we should all get a life” he thought he was invincible cause he was drunk - he got shown otherwise!

So the blogger believed the guy deserved it for a shitty comment made to some over sensitive gangster wannabe?

Sorry. I just read that it was a comment. What a dick.

I'm Bruce Everiss,
a veteran games industry marketer.

Why is it that every single time I've visited bruceongames recently because of that whole "piracy made us bust" bollocks, I imagine this guy literally saying that any chance he gets to.

Man 1 : "Hey, I'd like to introduce you to my mate, this is Bruce"
Bruce : "Hi, I'm Bruce Everiss, a veteran games industry marketer."
Man 2 : "Pardon me?"

Here is an explanation from an erudite, informed and very popular game industry blog.

Grand Theft Auto IV: Violence flares after launch
By Richard Edwards and Nicole Martin

What, it took two of them to write that? You're kidding me. FFS.

Dick Ed and Nick M?

You couldn't make it up.

Or perhaps, you could.

Three letters from today's Metro:

Quote

Can people not see that games such as Grand Theft Auto IV contribute to huge problems in today's society such as violence, murder and theft? Just reading the article 'GTA violence kicks off....in queue for the game' demonstrates the extent of the problem. One person was stabbed while waiting to buy the game but then went home to get a knife and continue the fight. And, in another example, two teenagers kicked a boy to the ground so they could steal the game from him. These are the kind of people who buy and enjoy playing this sort of 'game'. The makers of GTA IV should take responsibility and so should the people who support its sale

Clearly this demonstrates how the sort of coverage we saw the other day does result in people linking the two.

Quote

I find it deeply offensive that any advertising space is given to Grand Theft Auto IV. Can't people see that it's irrelevent that the game is for 'adults only'? People argue endlessly about cause and effect but is sort of 'game' really helping? You're either part of the problem or part of the solution. No amount of money can justify this sort of sick 'entertainment'.

Quote

Here we go again with the Grand Theft Auto panic. Anyone would think that crime was nonexistent before the invention of computer games. If GTA IV should be banned then so should action movies, which are equally as violent.

Bloody Telegraph link doesn't work any more. Thank god. It would only have wound me up with it's idiocy anyway.

Regardless of whether the people involved were in the queue or passers-by, or drunk or sober, or gamers or non-gamers ... surely the pertinent fact is that they hadn't actually bought the game yet, and therefore couldn't have been morally infected by it? Or is it so corrupting that even being close to a shop which sells it will make you into a murderer?
