Surprised at the Forza score. Not in terms of the game's obvious quality, but in light of what I thought Edge would give it.

I'm surprised at the Pirates score. It's around a six bordering a seven if you're into that franchise. Oh and I forgot Pokemon!

Sonic X-treme (I think) was the end result of years of work into emulating mario 64 on a saturn with the sonic template. It was a paltry one-level bonus atached to a sonic compilation game. Basically, the saturn couldn't do it, and the scraps were used as filler.

Hasn't Nintendo's rise back to the top already been written about everywhere else?

Also what reasons do they give for liking Forza 2?

I don't get this idea. A game wouldn't get any worse or better depending on whether I liked the license it was based on.

Although, if anything, if I was *really* into Pirates of the Carribean I would likely judge any failings in the game more harshly (as I would care about whether the characters looked just right, or the storyline was perfect etc), and therefore probably give it a lower score than if I wasn't into the franchise.

I'm pretty sure that isn't true. Do you mean the hub world in Sonic Jam? Sonic X-Treme was totally different to that.

Yes, I meant the hub world in Sonic Jam. I know Sonic Xtreme was almost a full game, with many different assets, and for some reason I thought some had been recycled to make the hub world. Having read the wiki on it, I can see this is not likely. I blame the lies of others, and my innate gullability during the mid-90's.

Did you know that VF3 is coming to the Saturn! It'll use a special graphics card in the cartridge slot and be mega!

I remember that one. I believed it. The bonus cartridge made it as good as the arcade. In fact the bonus cartridge was going to turn the war against playstation and save sega. In retrospect, it was exactly the psychological trap that the Nazi's fell into with their V2 rockets at the close of the war.

I'm usually more forgiving of faults if I'm already a fan of the subject matter. The game itself wouldn't necessarily be better, but I'm getting more out of it than someone with no interest in the franchise would.

Take Alien Trilogy, for example. It's pretty much a standard mid-90s FPS, but I have a lot more fun playing it and blasting xenomorphs whilst pretending to be Hicks than I would if the enemies were generic beasts and the levels not based (albeit incredibly loosely) on film's locations.

Really? I'd be the exact opposite.
