That's not really a bad thing, but
What the hell is going on with eurogamer? Recently they've had their writers squabbling in the comments section, that childish last paragraph in the Resistance review (still complaining that people accuse them of being pro-sony. Fine, it's probably just those members who are part of Sony's official blog, but please keep that stuff out a preview), their podcast was awful- it just makes the entire site feel like something a few people knocked up in their spare time for a laugh.

Their podcast if fucking awful, you're right. But we have to remember that the 1up Podcast used to be a painful half hour of drivel. So everyone's gotta start somewhere, I'm sure it'll get better. (Once they get rid of the script).

And they've started running poker competitions. Which is bizarre.

I've been thinking the same thing lately.

Also, posting a review for the singleplayer part of GoW because they simply dont' have the full game is extremely amateurish. Lumines Live was also badly reviewed.

It definately *looks* like they're biased towards Sony stuff.

The wierdest thing about that review was the paragraph they devoted to the fact they think the characters are too muscley. Apparently their only gripe with the game.

is it just me, but shouldn't a walkthru contain screenshots?

also, it seems to me that the stuff that they've currently posted is quite lackluster (the tips and tricks sections is nigh existant and the character descriptions sound like something taken out of the manual).

It was probably supplied by Rockstar - not that there's anything wrong with that.

I was wondering if I'd missed anything, like Tom and Kristan going at it with knives or something.

EG's quite cheerfully transparent. It's probably one of its better points, I think.

.::: Can't agree more. I was actually a bit sad when they got rid of the 'stylish' mugshots and nicknames in the articles. Although Mug's old mug can still be seen with some error messages.

Some old contributor who doesn't write much for the site any more had a go at Simon Parkin for thinking some boring old JRPG was boring. IIRC.

Isn't that an oxymoron?

So, Kieron, do you have an opinion of the direction EG is taking? Or is it more than your job's worth to talk about it?

The EG TV section is great, but most of other new stuff is "diluting the corporate message" as it were.

Your commitment to mobile gaming is impressive though, I'm sure that'll reap big rewards in a few years.
