I see that some of Fox's US titles are actually region free, Napoleon Dynamite being one of them. I want to pick up the Canadian disc, as it's actually cheaper, what are the chances of it bring region locked? Checking out the specs, language options, etc, both the US and Canadian discs are identical. I just don't trust those Fox bastards!

Are you sure? Ive checked online and although I couldnt find a hack for blu-ray playback I have seen many places selling these with region A and B support plus all regions for DVDs. So unless these ads are bullshit there must be a way in getting it to be dual region. I would certainly hope so as it would mean I wouldnt have to sell my S350 and get a PS3 when I move to Canada.

It seems that to get multiregion DVD playback, you simply put a code in the remote control. However to get multiregion BD playback, there has to be a physical hardware modification, which is why the region A and B machines seem to be incredibly expensive...

This. I'm sure I read when I was doing my research that at the moment there is no soft-mod for Blu-ray players.
Incidentally, if anyone wants a One 4 All remote to soft-mod the S350, I'll likely be selling a never-used one in the Trading folder in a few days. Bought it, then bought a pre-modded player. Whoops.
Also, thanks to this thread my first BD will be Speed-Racer. It'll be my first 1080p movie, so I'm thoroughly looking forward to it arriving in the next couple of days and experiencing that pure colour brain injection someone mentioned. :(
