I forgot about this one, it's an absolute beauty. Shame I've not got around to buying it yet though.

After the anodyne to poor Criterion covers of recent months, the Eclipse series is a splendid return to form for the company (or at least I think so).

I would absolutely love to see your DVD collection M. Hulot. Can i ask how old you are? And where you are from originally?

I dont think i've ever met anyone as well versed on contemporary cinema. From Hideo Gosha to Bergman in 2 posts. I'd have trouble believing you are english.

That's genius - outtakes to make everyone feel happy after the rape & slaughter they might have just watched. All horror movies should do this!

Imagine Cannibal Holocaust having a comedy outtake section at the end! Laugh as one of the natives chokes on the fake guts! See a funny scene involving a rubber knife bouncing off someone's head!

I (probably) deserve to be upbraided for exclusively praising Criterion's graphic design, but blimey, all of the work for the newest batch of titles is certainly grand:

Criterion have changed their website so you can now browse their collection easier and see all their great DVD covers. If money was not an issue I'd buy every one of the films they have released so far.

I'd love a big print of that, but the only ones I can find are on a white background.

I've never seen that before, but looking at it, it's obvious where they got the concept for this...

Those Ivan's Childhood and Days of Heaven covers are absolutely beautiful. If my multi-region DVD player wasn't quite so awful I'd buy both of them.

I also bought this ltd ed Dawn of the Dead print this morning for $30.00. Not a massive fan of the poster but the fact it is limited/signed and the only ever showing at the Monroeville mall, I'm hoping it might either look better in the flesh or make me a small profit.

Here's a link for the poster should you want one.

Skeeza - cheers for the heads up on the Dawn poster. I missed out on The Thing poster twice - first at Mondotees and then again on the artist's website, (who, incidentally was incredibly helpful and friendly but only had 5 posters to sell and huge demand). So I've been checking Mondotees for weeks for other posters I fancy. I probably wouldn't have had a look until after the weekend and spent most of next week kicking myself.

On a side note, a great resource for posters is this. It shows all the alternate posters for film releases in other regions.

Who is the artist who does these? I was sad I missed out on The Thing one, but now it looks like I've missed out on the Big Trouble in Little China one as well!! Aaaggh!
